A very good article in the FT on the Spanish wingers
when i first learned of nico williams, i always thought he was english. hes a very good player, which given the chance will help spain. hopefully not on sunday but he could be a big part of their future.

Progress on linkage of both parts of Great Central Railway at Loughborough
i would love this too! i find the idea really relaxing. i have read about the afternoon tea steam trains which are costly but would be a once in a life time experience. its a shame that they are not appreciated by some youngsters, but i suppose it can be hard competing against technology.

The Notts County Squad 2024/25
i dont want to sound like one of those fans with unreasonable expectations, but with the sale of macaulay langstaff we do need some signings which restores the faith and ambition of pushing for promotion from league two. i dont know if its planned to save, reinvest into wages or whatever. yet if the club could spend 100-200k on bringing in further talent. i think fans would shut up about langstaff, maybe even get behind stuart maynard more. thing is, clubs will believe we can pay more for players with the sale, so we have to be careful and spend what resources we have carefully. yet it would signify good intentions and go along way to adding further quality to the squad.

Weekend Chat - Friday 12th - Sunday 14th July
i hope everyone has a great weekend has booked time to watch their tv come the final of the euros on sunday.

Was it a Penalty?
@DeadlyMacca and yet the hand ball technology did not detect anything. ???? they will use hard to determine angles, but the footage i have seen in articles was the angle we saw the game in. i dont think saka handled the ball at all.

Fact of the day : 90th minute
i think cole palmer has shown he deserves more time in games, people keep going on about jude bellingham and phil foden being the best number 9s. palmer will play in any position for england and changes the outcome when he does. i think despite the lack of minutes, he has been one of the better players throughout the tournement.

Will Randall departs
he spends to much time on his looks than applying himself, i never rated him. its a shame it did not work out but i am glad we have been able to talk him into agree to depart. signings like this will happen but fewer they do, the better we will be.

Was it a Penalty?
either way, i feel for the referee because it was a difficult decision and both fans would call the deicison if he had or not given the penalty. i think england would have equalised sooner or later without the penalty, it just changed the outcome. i am not a referee, so my opinion is not valid. i do see how people would think its harsh but i can also appreciate how it was given. fouls are not always text book incidents and do force a review to decide.

From the German Embassy London
nice message, they will be disappointed with their own national team dropping out. early on, i thought they would go on to make it further. good team but fell short when it mattered. i am thankful we have managed to improve as we have grown in the euros.

Sorba Thomas, Huddersfield Town to Nantes?
it does sound like a once in a live time move, but it does also seem like he has issues with applying himself. for a move like this to move you really need to commit. if it was a top flight english club i could see this happening. * who have we signed? someone called thomas, from boreham wood. * from boreham wood? thats a big step up it is, he will be glad its sorba now.

Alex Kirk .....RCB?
he does look very good defensively, how he does against more experienced players might differ but with time he does look like he could become a very good player. i am interested to see how alex kirk does whilst on trial.

Faroe Islands
thank you for sharing that @Piethagoram. its always good to learn about things like this.

Match Discussion: PSF - The Chairboys (A)
people would ask @Dan i noticed on social media, as he puts psf in his album titles. its obvious but easy to go unnoticed.???? wycombe will be a good test, they have some championship quality from their time there and are a progressive league one team. it will give the players something to match in terms of fitness but a good chance for players to catch the head coaches eye. stuart maynard will know who his best 11 is, its just a case of those sealing those places heading into the season.

Netherlands v England: Pre & Post Match Analysis.
i hope we are, if we can be more creative and try to take chances from distant i think england could make a real game of it. i sort of see it either being very defensive and uneventful or one team will take it to the other, which will force the play to be more open. it would be nice to see the national team win something in my life time. we are on the verge of making another final, it warrants a good performance and the players do their best. the majority of england fans will be right behind them. ????????????????????????????????????????

Fact of the day 06 July 2024
i watched a news segment on youtube where a person actually shown we have progressed further more with gareth southgate than all the years prior. its not because we just have a wave of good talent but his insight as a coach and manager. tactically, he might have his mindset but there is no denying he is a big part of the england teams success.

Fan Zone New Name
the nest is the best name i think the fan zone could have been called, it makes you feel a part of something and its where a lot of notts fans will flock before a game. whoever came up with it deserves a pay raise!
-
The Nest, 1924
i never knew this either, the nest seems a strange name for a ground. it does not sound right to me.
-
Three Leopards II
i cant imagine waving the union jack, instead of the st georges flag at games. during rugby where the six nations have played, i have seen it happen during those games but the united kingdom these days seems more divided by rivalry than ever before. i dont mind wales of scotland. wales seems to have a bigger issue with the english than the scots, i have family up north and i am always treated nicely by people in scotland. northern ireland always has seemed to be the most easiest to get along with.

Words Words And More Words.
i always thought a realtor sounded more like someone who sold items, not act as an estate agent.

Where are they now : Kevin Wilson
good luck to him, a lot of ex players are on the move and working in coaching.

Match Discussion: PSF - The Chairboys (A)
it will be part teams again, as i would imagine they want to see what the trialists offer and what might be needed in terms of further recruitment. it wont be until the later stages of friendlies until we go first team minded but i would not mind seeing it. there was some good spells against alfreton, where the link play looked quite encouraging.

Faroe Islands
@Fan of Big Tone i wondered if it used to be a luxurious retreat for egyptian royalty back in the day. ????
-
Match Discussion: PSF - The Reds (A)
its not been a bad game really, the free kick was a good effort. i dont think any complaints about the result really matters, its pre season. fitness and to see what areas might need tactically improving. nothing else.
-
Alex Kirk .....RCB?
i dont really know who he is but i trust the recruitment team, its been nice previous seasons how we have narrowed down using trials as a means to judge a players ability. instead signing players typically ready for first team football. not that i think alex kirk would not be, i suppose the options for centre backs might be narrowing.
