Ricardo Moniz's new position
sacked by nk slaven belupo for only winning 1 game in 7, their owners did not stand by their decision much did they? good luck to him with this move.

Congratulations Derby County
i am pleased for derby, they deserved to go up and its just a shame that portsmouth was just so good this season because it could have been a interesting title race between both teams. derby did well to get back up after dropping off a bit but it is always nice see a good team doing well. congratulations @super_ram.

The New Scottish Hate Law.
it comes from a guy who did a hate speech towards white people, missing the point that to get other ethnic groups into something it takes the opportunity and encouragement. hes very deluded and is ruining scotland. he has one vision and it comes across hitlerish.

County cock ups
@Robbie the goalkeeper was put under pressure and distributed a poor ball for suttons first goal. defensively everyone stood ball watching in the swindon defence, with some players hoping it was offside. not much defending here. their second what was the swindon keeper doing again? the third goal for sutton comes from a lack of defending too. if we needed further proof of defences just standing still when they are needed, this 100% proves that.

Rebuiding Notts's defence Off the Line Blog
i think when we look at defenders who come we need to make sure that they can self motivate themselves, show a good level of awareness and strong with dealing with issues. this is our main area provided that we dont lose any of our good attacking players. it might be worth keeping an eye on some of the promoted teams to see if they release any defenders. charlie raglan would have been a good option i feel, but he moved from cheltenham to oldham. hes a pretty non nonsense centre back who defensively copes well with pressure. upcoming mason o malley did well with scunthorpe. hes now at bradford park avenue but is young, which does not quite fit the need for experience but hes a good tackler. so in terms of experience, liam shephard could be a good call.

County cock ups
other teams do make mistakes, if you watch the efl show you will see it. we tend to score good goals, which are build from good attacking play. there is little room for defenders to gift us goals when we play like this. to say that we are the only team making these mistakes is a bit odd. it happens even in the premier league.

Retain, release, sell, keep
i am only really bothered about retaining cedwyn scott and aden baldwin, i do think kyle cameron can prove himself with more defensive minds around him. having a good centre back that can go forward might be a luxury but hes a decent captain despite what some fans say.

Time to be Positive about Season 2023/24
its very cliche but matt palmer really will make such a big difference when he returns. our first goal was to remain in the efl, we had high hopes on the back of promotion but perhaps the fact chesterfield were the better team on the day and what issues they gave us could have been a sign of how this campaign might end. going top showed we had the class and quality, unfortunately injuries meant and other things did not see it last but its good achievement in its own. the earlier part of our home form was special, it felt like meadow lane was a fortress and that made attending games exciting.

Match Discussion: Game 43 - Sulphurites (H)
i hope we can pick up from the mk dons performance, away from home we have generally been better i feel. we have given good accounts of ourselves but the issue is the silly mistakes and decisions which lead to gifting goals away. i dont rate luca ashby-hammond, but would get behind whoever ends up in goal. i think he does suit the ball at his feet, but his commanding, distribution and positioning are not strong points for me. also i think jatta should start ahead of mcgoldrick, i think he offers much more and we may benefit from having some experience come on later in the game as a way to manage things.

Stuart Maynard: Should he stay or should he go?
some fans wanted luke williams out after the opening game, then again when we next lost a game. he took us to the top and not without introducing problems, i am hoping that stuart maynard can do the opposite. i am more inclined to have faith in the boards decision, but i do feel maynard is up against it. i dont personally have a problem with him. with this being his first professional job, i hope he can bring himself up to grade and that might take time. i do wonder if we should have tried to get him some experience with a different assistant and allow matt saunders to join the coaching team.

League Goals scored by Notts
it would be nice if we can get back to scoring ways and take some of the pressure off the remaining games, just to give maynard a bit more time come the new season. i really think the club can turn things around and improve without making a major change.

Sven's last stand
it horrible to see how his illness is taking its toll on him, he does not look well and his face is unfortunately showing signs of how unwell he is. its very saddening but this was a real nice thing to see. i wish sven many more happy days and hope he continues to make what time he has matter. its a reminder that we all need to make the most of our lives. i am very humbled by how brave he is.

The case for the defence.....
@Fozzy the moment aden baldwin goes down, they sense a goal scoring chance and none of our defenders react. it still annoys me how baldwin thought more about his pride and stayed down, than to see him attempt to get up but the other players are just as bad.

Call up for St Kitts and Nevis
i caught this but forgot to look to see if it had been mentioned here, its great to see two of our youngsters get selected and i hope it gets them some experience. it makes it promising from our front because international football can be a huge benefit to moulding all rounded players.

T10 Cricket
i could not watch a long cricket game but t20 games are generally entertaining and watchable when two teams are really going for it. proper test matches bore the life out of me, it took me awhile to get into football but cricket just is not the sport that does for me. i can understand why scotland would want to make things shorter with their weather.

wishing you well piethagoram

Football finances : Stockport County losses
they are being ambitious and can see that what is currently working might see them gain promotion to league one. after all their years in the national league, its good to see a club like them doing well. rather than the likes of salford city and mk dons. provided they can handle the debts and dont risk the clubs future too much so be it.

Match Discussion: Game 42 - The Dons (H)
luca ashley hamnond is not the answer, he is not ready and generally shows poor positioning. yes, he is better with his feet but even his distribution leaves questions. there have been several games where he has shown his inexperience by just kicking the ball out when having a paddy that he does not know where to kick the ball. if nobody comes forward for it, boot the ball up field and not for the closest throw in possible. sam slocombe has been generally good since coming back, but the ball to his feet is not something that suites him well and we should avoid trying this if he is selected. its all about right the timing. if we want to lose the experience he brings and go for better feet, aidan stone is just fine but he lacks the confidence to seeout clean sheets. besdies, i think we are better choosing a keeper and sticking with them, much like the defence. the main thing is making the most of having the ball, we cant just sit on high percentages and knock it around at the back. at some stage the defence must realise they are better working the ball into an area where someone can continue to take it further and the midfield needs to run with that. if we lose the ball, just try to regain it asap or block it. provided we learn to defend our own net better, the more likely we will be to get some good results. it wont happen like a miracle at this stage tho.

Match Discussion: Game 41 - The Robins (A)
its all confidence at this stage and the fact the season is one we must grind out, i see errors and issues happening. i still dont blame stuart maynard, the players cant help themselves and until we have the time to really strengthen and sort out some of the obvious gaps then things are what they are. its really disappointing to see some fans, a very small minority seem to take joy at away games that we are so poor. maybe its their way of coping but its just hostile and very atmosphere ruining to hear silly comments throughout a game. I enjoyed the game itself more than hearing them. the goals we gave away were extremely poor, i dont think we should be too harsh on scott robertson because hes still young and has largely done well. if we were winning people would be overlooking some of these mistakes and the majority i think would be less critical, its a real shame how this season has ended up but sometimes it happens when you realise you are not good enough for the higher end. the fact some people still believe we should be we are good enough for promotion to league one, but say we are rubbish makes me want to pull my hair out. we are not ready, there is a chance we could have been but not since luke williams left and even then we seemed to coasting out of the frame of it.
