  1. Been thinking about this and to keep the side balanced but extracting the most out of the team attacking wise I'd go with... GK Sam Slocombe RCB Alex Lacey CB Connell Rawlinson LCB Kyle Cameron RWB Richard Brindley CM Matty Palmer CM Ed Francis LWB Joel Taylor CAM/W Cal Roberts ST/W Ruben Rodrigues ST Kyle Wootton Depending on formation, Roberts can play in the 10 and Ruben up top and have free roam (like the back end of last season). Or both can play either side of KW in a kind of 343. We can also introduce Nemane into that formation too. Francis to be the holding midfielder and one of the set piece takers. He's already said about how the club wanted him to be Doyle's replacement. Palmer to play the role like Reeves did towards the end of last season with a bit more spice. With the schedule, there will be constant squad rotation so, there probably won't be no set starting x1. Brindley to balance us at RWB as Taylor can get forward. Allows Cameron to step out of defence a bit and Brindley can cover as a third centre-back. He can also get forward on his day too. Exciting battle for the right-back slot nonetheless. Still believe we need more striker and maybe cover at centre half unless Chicksen is alternating between LWB and CB.

  4. I think it may well be Lamine Kaba Sherif
  5. Would obviously like to sign both of them Feel like Tshimanga is just out of our reach. I know Orient and Preston have been interested in him this summer. His goalscoring record at this level speaks for itself though, and he would be a quality addition. Dallas actually scored 12 goals, not 10, last season for Weymouth in the league. Quick and would be a good partner to Wootton. In my opinion, he is the more realistic option and we already know that the NEP have reported our interest in him so why not?
  6. Proper Phil Parkinson signing that. Kick and head. Had a good first season at Notts but a woeful second season. Still wins the award for best tackle at Meadow Lane when he went steaming into Brad Halliday like a runaway train for trying to get Shola sent off
  7. First game: Boreham Wood (H) Last game: Altrincham (A)
  8. A page that spells Notts as Notss, one that spells Rhys Oates as Reece Oates (even though all it takes is a quick Google to find out how to spell it), talking about Torquay and Notts more than any other clubs combined and rumours that aren't realistic. You can tell when these accounts are false when they talk about like one or two teams more than any other. One rumour included Jamie Reid (currently of Mansfield and renowned goalscorer in the 5th and 6th tier, going to 10th tier Stockport Town.
  9. Please stop being convinced by this page
  10. Funnily enough, this thread popped up on my Twitter timeline:
  11. I'm now thinking that we weren't after Calvin Miller. He was released before the National League play-offs and so if we wanted him between the time he was released and the time our season ended, we would have just offered him a contract. It can't be because Chesterfield are offering a better contract than us, otherwise we would have just offered him a contract. Money clearly isn't a problem, otherwise we wouldn't be giving Jamie Sterry a lucrative offer to join us.
  12. Since I've made this list, Grayson has gone to Barrow, Hart to Oldham, Miller to Chesterfield and Fonguck has signed a new deal at Barnet
  13. Still got lots to offer. Hope we can use his pace to our advantage and improve his overall play which I think Burchnall will do. Was unlucky to get injured at the back end of last season but I think when given time, he will be an asset.
  14. @liampie I would say Woking have signed well. They are moving from part time to full time and so will need to take that next step up. Tom Champion, Rohan Ince and Inih Effiong are all solid operators at National League level. Solomon Nwabuokei has done well for St Albans City as well. Grimsby are doing a lot of their business already. Ben Fox is a good signing. John McAtee and Erico Sousa are ones to watch. Southend have brought in a some ex Football League players but ones who have done well at this level previously, like Jack Bridge, Josh Coulson and Rhys Murphy. Yeovil look like they are having a bit of a rebuild after last season. Grant Smith was in the team of the year in 2017-18. Solihull's acquisition of Ryan Barnett is an interesting one and I would've liked to have seen him at Meadow Lane. Dover's recruitment has left me asking whether their financial issues are as bad as they are making out. Ricky Miller, Ben Williamson and Reda Johnson all signed. If they continue to sign players like that, they have a chance of avoiding relegation.
  15. Whilst they have started to recruit well, I don't think we should be worrying. This is not due to me underestimating them but, we have our way of recruiting, that determines who fits our style and who we ultimately sign. We should be focused on ourselves and what we're good at and using our methods to build a team that will challenge for the title. Kyle Cameron is an excellent signing and if we start as we mean to go on, then we could have a very good season. With Calvin Miller going, then maybe our team think there was potentially better out there and are looking at signing other players for that position. Miller may have gone there, but I have trust in IB, RM and our analysis/recruitment team to bring in a player who can play a big part in our season.
  16. Ah fake transfer news accounts. Got to love them. Always crop up every transfer window. Not trusting this one. This account has said we're gonna sign Frankie Vincent from Bournemouth too and in that tweet spelt Notts as "Notss." Becides, why would we go for Bogle when we have Wootton and Knight and are chasing Dallas. We'd never get Bogle and with him entering his late 20's, he doesn't fit the football radar style. Also said Jamie Reid was going to Stockport Town (Town in the 10th tier, not County) and has tweeted an awful lot about transfers involving Woking and Torquay even though The Gulls' season finished literally 2 days ago.
  17. Goalkeepers Harry Isted - 24, Put in a cracking performance for Wealdstone against us last season. Good reflexes. CB'S Ben Hockenhull - 19, Had a good season with Brentford's B team and formerly of Manchester United. Good in the air and is useful with the ball at his feet Jacob Bedeau - 21, Free agent having been released by Scunthorpe. Good on the ball and had Championship interest last season. Will probs be out of our reach Joe Grayson- 24, Released by Blackburn. Will help us play out from the back if played in central defence. Can also play centre mid if needed LB'S Harry Boyes - 19, Impressed on loan at Bradford (Park Avenue) last season and is good going forward. Think he was the Premier League left-back we were going to sign on loan last season, before things broke down. Depends on what Sheffield United's plans are for him Adam Crookes - 23, Local-ish having played at Forest for a while and Lincoln-born. Released by Port Vale. Can play at left-back or the left side at centre-back Sam Hart 24 - 24, Tough tackling defender recently let go by Southend. Likes to get forward and can play on the wing CM'S Ryan East 22, Former Reading Under 23s captain, who's had sporadic appearances on the bench the last few seasons Wes Fonguck - 23, Energetic Barnet midfielder who can run forward with the ball and link play. Will help us create Scott Burgess - 23, Transer listed by Port Vale. Can also play on the wing. Creative but lacking physicality Tom Lapslie - 25, Tenacious and willing to run and press. Recently released by Colchester Ryan Trevitt - 18, Bald call this one but he's had a good first season in Brentford's B team. Likes to get forward and can chip in with goals too Kyle Barker - 20, Defensive midfielder who is comfortable in possession. Still on the books at Posh George Marsh - 22, Deep-lying Tottenham midfielder who is strong in the tackle and plays in the holding midfield role. Had a solid loan spell at Leyton Orient in 2019-20 Wingers Dan Mooney - 21, Thought he did well for Alty when he played against us last season. Likes to run at players. Fits our model Calvin Miller - 23, Impressed when Burchnall came in. With the statement saying we're looking to sign one of the loanees and with Rawlinson being offered a new deal instead of going for Ellis, then I presume Miller is the man Harry Pritchard - 28, Released by Bradford and could be useful with his versatility, as he can play on the wing and in central midfield. Did well at this level with Maidenhead. Strikers Andy Dallas - 21, Cambridge forward who we're interested in. Scored 12 in 25 last season for Weymouth. Has bags of pace. Still young which fits our model Olufela Olomola - 23, Free agent since leaving Scunthorpe. Has chipped in with goals in previous spells at Yeovil and Carlisle Cameron Archer - 19, Aston Villa youngster who scored 5 goals in 12 starting appearances last season (including 16 sub appearances) for Solihull. Very quick Josh Walker - 23, Offered a new deal by Barnet. Had a good season in 2019-20 but I believe was hampered by injury last season. 2019-20 season consisted of 8 goals in the league and 5 in the FA Trophy. Promising Michael Tait - 20, Just been let go by Villa. Can play up front or can drop into attacking midfield. Contributed with goals in Aston Villa's U23 team Danny Cashman - 20, Just left Brighton. Can also play attacking midfield and on the wing, as well as his normal striker role. Likes to bring the ball forward and run at defenders. Only 5"6 but has good technical ability and movement. Recently said if he did drop down the pyramid, he knows he would have to improve his physical game. Some I've left out as I don't think we'd sign them. Some of these have stood out this season in the National League and have Football League interest. Dani Orsi-Dadomo, Sonny Carey, Ben Whitfield, Rhys Oates, Isaac Olaofe, David Ajiboye, Kabongo Tshimanga, Dan Jarvis, Joe Tomlinson. Jack Earing would be on that list but he's just gone to Walsall.
  18. Notts County 3-2 Chesterfield - The most amazing of finishes
  19. This season feels like it's gone on for ages but we've reached the play-offs at last. Just thought I'd ask you all, what are you worried about and, what you can take comfort in, with our team and maybe with the potential route to Ashton Gate. For me, I think we can see positives in the fact we are moving the ball a lot quicker and the players have bought into the way Burchnall wants to play. We're very fluid and don't really stick to our normal roles in our formation, meaning it can be difficult for the opposition to man mark or track their man. Allowing Ruben a free role to create and support Wootton, causes teams all sorts of trouble. O'Brien is being used a lot better in my opinion, being allowed to make them runs into the box from deep. Reeves is playing a bit further forward and his through ball passes and long range shooting ability is has helped us. Calvin Miller has been superb on loan and his direct running is a thorn in the side of opposition teams. Mark Ellis can also bring it out of defence if he wants to. However, my biggest worry is, in games we go through spells where we dither about, make silly and stupid decisions and we panic. As IB said yesterday, we need to trust ourselves more and not rush into launching it when we go through these spells. Another thing is our clinical edge in front of goal because, we should have been ahead before they scored yesterday and we probably should have won by more against Weymouth. You won't be allowed to get away with that in the play-offs. We've also got to be ready and want it more, and to clear it out our box when crosses come in, because we can be suspect to them sometimes.
  20. The 3rd goal is simply beautiful
  21. Notts County 3-0 Weymouth - The perfect return
