Coventry City vs Notts County

So, with last season's home win against Coventry being one of the high points of 13/14 (which was also the first Meet the Fans video). Will this game be one in which Coventry get their own back?

Will they be trying to prove something after their premature exit from the FA Cup?

Will we miss the 3 players who are away on international duty?

Fingers crossed we keep up our unbeaten run (Which is currently on one game unbeaten!)

Who is going to make the trip to the Ricoh Arena?

I think Coventry are going to be smarting, not just from the FA cup shock, but from a poor run in the league.

We seriously need to improve, get back to the basics and work ethic, up the tempo.

I see us struggling and I think we will be lucky to come away with anything, the way things are.

realistically as we are now, a loss, although we may score 2-1 or 3-1, if we up our game then 1-1or to dream 2-1, I cannot see us keeping them out for 90 mins.

Coventry have to snap out of it sooner or later and after Sunday, I am worried it is going to be against us

i too fear a backlash, perhaps 1-3.  tough run ahead in the league, sheff u and donny away too if i recall?

why are we not given dispensation to call off due to internationals, given we've 3(ish) players absent - is it because theres a loanee in amongst them?

I think it will be close to be honest, I feel a draw is a strong possibility and you know I wouldn't mind at all.

There's a difference drawing to Stanley, City would be considered a good result because they do have a quality side. Notts will have to do their home work, Derry needs to call it spot on to get anything but I would expect a loss under normal circumstances.

With SD I think we have a good chance remaining in games.

He'll be wanting to make sure we don't slip, no doubt a difficult game though.

"I've defended these players previously, but not any more. Certain players will be shipped out." - Coventry City's Steven Pressley

I think the backlash expected may well be coming our way

Coventry could suffer a backlash from us,though.

That article could well do half of Shaun's pre match brief for him... Pin it up, let the lads know they are going to be in for a game... No complacency

Exactly.

We've underperformed for 2 games straight. That's not right, and i don't think Shaun will let our standards slip.

We went 11 Games unbeaten, you don't do that if you're not a good team.

Notts to start another unbeaten run (Which started last Sunday). Plus we seem to be doing quite well away from home.

Coventry 0 - 2 Notts

I admire your optimism @Canadian and I hope to heavens you are right.. but I fear the worst.

Never a better time to play Coventry. They are in disarray. They were arguing amongst themselves on Sunday and are on a terrible run.

We have gone from poor against Walsall to dire against Accrington. Lack of a quality striker looks like it is coming back to bite us on the ass.

I reckon we'll improve and Coventry will improve. 1-1. Hollis with the goal.

I'm going for a hard earned draw 1-1 to keep our unbeaten away run going.

Coventry will have a point to prove.

I fear that if we don't go in calm and pass the ball on the ground, we will struggle to get into the game. I see them being more on their game but I still do feel we can and will draw, it's hard seeing is winning them but it can be done.

The ruling is seems silly, to class a player as not one of the three required i do not get.

Is he not an emergency loan?

Coventry have a couple missing but I still expect them to beat us. You can't predict what they will do, same can be applied for us but we shall see. At the worst it should only be a defeat by the odd goal but i hope we go out fighting.

How are Notts regarding injuries and suspensions? What line up do members expect?

We have a few, though it's not going to be an excuse to blame that. We're not Forest! ;)

Hayden Mullins - Out, Jimmy Spencer - Still Out, Alan Smith - Likely to still be Out - Louis Laing - Might be back (otherwise he's Out).

Haha, most insightful comment of the day  :P

(I know what you mean though)

edit: is this how you manage to get a warning :D

I am undecided if I am going, nothing to do with our last match however.

Logistics and time factors will play a big part of my decision, yet I would like to make the game. Its a nice ground, I have not been there since the mid 90's (dont ask). I expect Coventry to start brightly, as I do Notts. I dont see us winning, which is fine. I think a draw here would be a good result.

We need a steady back four, so I am hoping Laing is fit to play.

I'm leaning towards going to this one.  It is closer than a standard home game after all.

Is it a long shot to ask if there are any other Brum Mapgies going?

Knowing that both sides have things to prove to each sets of fans, I suspect that it will either be a repeat of sunday or it will be a game where both sides play very well. We might be surprised how our side react, yet there is no denying the quality of the skyblues.

I think we could sneak it.

Yet I will take a draw, I just hope we can avoid losing. A bore draw would hardly be bad here!

Andy D'urso as fourth official, my word he has slipped down the pyramid somewhat...

The last time I went to the Ricoh would have been the league cup game in 2007, not good, a 3-0 defeat.

But interestingly in head to heads against Coventry we could expect something from the game... Coventry have won 18, whilst 7 games have been drawn, and Notts have won 11...

Another factor may be that Coventry had a JPT tie last night and defeated Plymouth 2-0, a confidence booster ahead of the weekend, but also a game to take a little out of them ??

just read the match officials article, good read.

i think looking at @notts-joes other post, it looks like we could go into this as the favourites and i am not really sure why they are struggling. i just expect them to have the home advantage and i do think they will come at us, so if we can stop that and take advantage of them wanting to get a result it could be something for us to use against them.

not sure how to call this! it could go anyway.

Sadly, I can't be there - C Parcs weekend - but I reckon we are worth at least a point.

Whilst Cov may well improve from last week, so will we (I hope). Our record suggests we can handle ourselves, even against the odds. Fancy it will be all square tbh.

Come on you Piiiiiiiiiiiieeeeeeeeeees.

Enjoy, Love C. Parcs. We there when i were about 12 lol.
