  1. Good morning PoN, did you remember to put your clocks back?

The table top sale was a success yesterday we raised a few hundred for our charity I’m not sure of the final figure but it was in the hundreds certainly.

After that we took our eldest grandchildren to Pizza Hut in Mansfield it was nice but the bill was over £70, phew, I wished we’d had a takeaway. They stayed overnight and today we’ve got more fun planned for all four grandchildren together, it’s not often they see each other so it should be good.

Terrible news about the helicopter crash at Leicester City’s ground it sounds like the owner was on board and sometimes his family travel with him, then there will be the crew. Our thoughts are with all those affected.

Have a good day whatever you are doing.

  2. Richard Duffy given the all clear to return

Richard took part in a light training session on Friday Kewell said “I’m happy to have him back off the treatment table it maybe to soon to throw him back in but we will put him through his paces and see  what happens”.

Although it’s unlikely he will feature against Swindon in tomorrow’s key home game after his serious hamstring problem. But surely the relief is that’s another one off the treatment table.?

    Hall suffers set back

How ever the on loan defender Ben Hall has suffered a set back on his return and has returned to his parent club Brighton.

Hall trained with the squad following a groin strain Harry said “He was up here a few days ago but he’s has a minor set back and will be off his feet for the next couple of days”

The gaffer is hopeful that they can get Hall back in the next seven to ten days and see how he is.

  3. Anyone trying to buy tickets for any of the upcoming games will not be able to for the time being as the ticket website is down and you can't but over the phone or in-store.

  4. I'M ALMOST CERTAIN BEYOND THE REALMS OF DOUBT NOW.

It's getting an absolute effin joke now.

Why is it Notts are consistently ruined by referees

  5. Anybody else been watching the drama series "Truckers" on BBC1? Written by Notts fan William Ivory and set in Nottingham with plenty of Notts County references. Been really good TV, I'm not one for TV dramas normally but I've watched every episode of this one, unmissable! Shame it finished tonight, that'd be my one complaint - that the series was so short

  6. Good morning PoN it’s a bit brass monkeys out there, according to my weather gadget the temperature dropped to 2.2 degrees overnight but the sun is just starting to rise as I write this so hopefully it’ll warm up a bit soon.

No park run for me today, I’ll miss it but we will be busy getting ready for the table top sale we’ve organised it starts at 12, I’m a bit worried in case no buyers turn up but a friend says he go out and drag people in if necessary. I’m sure it’ll be fine though.

No match for me today but I’ll be keeping tabs on my phone, after the table top sale we are picking up our eldest grandchildren and taking them for a pizza then they are staying with us for the weekend.

Have a great day whatever you are doing and COME ON YOU PIES!!

Now I've got your attention, watch this. It'll make everything OK again.

  8. So we have reviewed Jamie Turley contribution since his arrival at Notts but now my question is .. Jamie Turnley in just one word ..?

Can you possess steam @Magic magpie?

Another frustrating afternoon but it sounds like we played alright and created chances so at least there's hope. If the players don't let their heads drop we'll be alright. Let's not start talking about promotion again next time we win a couple though, the season is about making it to safety as soon as possible now :(

No I agree promotion talks on hold .. another very frustrating afternoon but there are positives as you say mate

  10. So Notts finally return to meadow lane as they face Swindon on Saturday.

So its guess the attendance time if you fancy a guess we are looking for the total attendance of Saturdays match as a whole and the number of away as a separate guess.

Good luck guys will reveal the answer on Saturday night after the game.

  11. So it’s time for this weeks caption this and it’s taken from the only game that Sol played for us .. I saw and I couldn’t resist it’s a bit funny so give us your best captions and I’ll reveal the winning caption on Saturday after the County game.

Good luck guys and girl happy captioning AD9D0084-74A9-4849-81DB-F5FAB0ED3FFC.jpeg

  12. Milsom/Hewitt

    Milsom/Vaughan

    Vaughan/Hewitt

With Milsom back and Vaughan having played well Tuesday and when he came on, on Saturday, who are you playing tomorrow?

Do you go on the front foot with Vaughan dictating, or do you stick with the tried and tested central midfield from the victories against Crewe and Crawley.

  13. Well the Fifa world rankings has been updated/released and the top 6 is very different from a year ago .. England now sit in 5th place World Cup winners France in 2nd and Belgium are number ones and the biggest shock Brazil in second.

Germany and Italy even Spain have dropped out the top five even top ten. which if some one told me this a year ago I wouldn’t have believed it.

All i can is what a difference a year and World Cup Make.

  14. Great news guys and girls Jamie Turley straight red against MK Dons has be rescinded and he is available for Saturdays home game against Swindon.

If the card is over turned surely that poor referring .??

    Thoughts guys and girls

  15. So match day three was a mix bag for the English sides as two teams gained three points one got a draw and one lost.

    PSV v Spurs

Spurs are now at a point of no return in terms of qualifying for the last 16 of the champions league. A red card to Hugo lloris did little to help spurs cause as he will miss three games which is the remaining games left. Spurs only managed a 2-2 draw leaving them 3rd and psv 4th both on 1 point and by the looks of it the fight for 3rd will feature these to.

    liverpool v C Zvezda

Liverpool with that win have the champions league progression is in there own hands now. After they never left 2nd gear mo salah and sane both appeared on the score sheet. Even though Liverpool missed a penalty it didn’t matter though as they comfortably won the match 4-0.

    Man City v shak Doneskt

City ,like Liverpool, never needed to get out of 2nd gear they played well, kept the ball and controlled the match. Sailing to a 3-0 win and now have there fate in there own hands. Sitting top and a point clear of Lyon

    Manchester United v Juventus

Manchester United were again late tona champions league game leaving Jose walking to the ground and leaving the team to make their own way to the ground. However that was not an excuse .United really didn’t look on top , nor did they look like they turned up. Juventus played well with Ronaldo and Dybala on the attack for Juventus. It was a single goal by Dybala that gave Juventus the three points , giving them maximum of points so far and giving a 5 point lead in group H

  16. I know this is a bit late but I’ve just watched the highlights from this game and I must say Derby looked very good. What a result you must be delighted @super_ram

  17. So finely the magpies return home as they face Swindon on Saturday in a must match who’s going to the lane to watch the magpies face Swindon.

  18. So on Saturday I watched the news after the results came and I think the bbc made a small error I think 🤔😂💯

  19. Well I can’t believe it the time off seemed to have brought the curse with it as we fell 4-0 to Bury I’m shocked and very angry I’m not going to lie and very disappointment like everyone else is another word .. honestly with all the progresss I didn’t see this coming I thought may be loose 1-0 but 4-0 oh my god. I’m hopeing the post match report will provide some answers and the grading/scores will be interesting.

  20. Good morning PoN it’s another bright morning but a bit nippy.

It’ll be a quiet day for me today not much happening, I’ll do a bit of gardening maybe, I’ve got a couple of bushes that need cutting back.

Later it’s curry night and Mrs Big Tone is cooking a lovely Chicken Biryani.

In other news I see Sinead O’Connor the Irish singer famous for the hit “Nothing Compares to you” has converted to Islam and has changed her name. I’m not a theologist but I find it very strange, presumably being Irish she was brought up as a Catholic, it’s a big change to Islam. :huh2:

  21. I dont want to get ahead of myself but these next six look winnable.

Swindon - Scored 1 in their last 6

    Vale - Can't defend corners

    Oldham - Won 1 in 6

Cheltenham - Still not won under Michael Duff

    Morecambe - Struggling like normal

Carlisle - Falling down the table

  22. So this game is simple €10 smackers choose your front or attacking three from the list of players contresponding to how much they cost.

one line is worth €5 the other €2 and €3 have your front three any way you want.

you can have any front three men you like as long as it don’t cost over €10

  23. So the champions league match day three is nearly upon us with all English teams hitting stumbling blocks.

    Tuesday 23rd October

    Group F kick off 8pm

    Manchester United v Juventus

This one promises to be a great match with Ronaldo making his first trip to old Trafford since beating United them with Madrid back in 2013. Jose has ruled out Alexis Sanchez for tonight’s game saying the players you see will be the players that play. With United second 4 points Juventus first with six it’s going to be intriguing.

    Group F kick off 8pm

    Shak Donetsk v Man City

with no new injuries Pep has a strong squad to choose from after two games City sit in 2nd with three points and shak in 3rd with 2  points. A win for Shak is a must with progression on there minds. Where a win for City would put them in a fantastic position.

    Wednesday 24th October

    PSG v Spurs

with two straight defeats Spurs are desperate to get champions league Champaign back on track as they face Fourth place PSV. who them selfs sit with zero points and fourth for both teams this  is a must win if they want to progress and avoid elimination or falling in to the Europa league Spurs have worked hard to establish them selfs as a Champions league side.

    Group D kick off 8pm

    Liverpool v Czveda

on paper heading in to this Liverpool have the easyist tie out of all the English sides. But Klopp won’t underestimate Czveda and the possible element of surprise and the will to cause Liverpool a shock. Back at Anfield Liverpool have built a fortress and the faithful becoming he 11th man. Liverpool sit in second with three pints have there 91st minute defeat to Napoli whom sit top of the group with four points thanks to that win. A win for Liverpool will put them in with a real shout of qualifying for the last 16 after last season runners up finish Klopp and his team have certainly set the bar high for this season.

  24. I have mentioned that during December I will be coming back to the UK, I have three weeks [and 3 days] booked off and I want to make as many Notts games as possible. It would be nice to meet up with some of the PON members also, if anyone would be interested?

What would you recommend to do in and around Nottingham?

I am sure the areas changed since I last visited which off the top of my head was 1995, I moved to the states a few years before that. I will be doing the usual things, catching up with distant family and watching Notts. I would like recommendations on other things, so if any PON members can suggest things I can do alone or with my family that would be great. There are relatives I have never seen, so I would like to make the most of the visit.

    Thanks....
