Keeping up with multiple sports: How do you balance your love for Notts County with other teams?

As a Notts County fan, you're probably passionate about football and love to follow your team's progress throughout the season. But what about other sports? How do you balance your loyalty to Notts County with your interest in other sporting teams and sports?

It can be challenging to keep up with multiple sports and teams, especially when their schedules overlap. Do you find yourself prioritising Notts County above everything else, or do you try to keep up with other sports as well? Do you have a favourite non-football team that you follow closely?

Additionally, does your love for Notts County make it harder for you to support other teams, especially if the schedule of games or events class? Or do you find it easy to support multiple teams and enjoy the different sports they play?

Let's hear your thoughts and experiences on balancing your loyalty to Notts County with your interest in other sports and teams. Do you have any tips or tricks for managing your time and keeping up with all the action? What other sports and teams do you enjoy following, and why?

I don't like many other sports that Nottingham has clubs or teams, I do like Ice Hockey, but I have never seen the Nottingham Panthers. I have expressed a desire to go, maybe one time it doesn't clash with Notts.

Cricket is just boring to me, each on their own, but I couldn't sit at a live venue spectating it.

I think Notts clashes more with my personal life and, sometimes, I wished I hadn't put my attendance over that. It's hard for us to do things as a family, due to my habit of watching Notts on a Saturday. So, there's not much conflict with other sports. Next season, whilst I will be back on the road - I will be using alternative weekends to spend time doing stuff with my family - quite possibly dragging @super_ram. I am hoping he will join us from time to time at games, as I know @super_pie would love that just as much as I would.

i don’t really like most sports. cricket, rugby, tennis, they don’t bother me. for me, football is more about the day out and the community. winning and success is just a bonus. it’s about being part of something bigger and sharing the experience with others.

People who attend both home and away games invest a lot of time and energy into supporting their team. For me, it has little impact as I can't attend games, but it means having to rely on sources for news. Now that I have retired, I watch plenty of sports. I love basketball, but as a neutral. It's great to have the time to enjoy different sports and follow the teams that I love.

I thought I had replied to this, but it seems I didn’t. I don’t follow any other sports teams as closely as I do Notts County. I enjoy horse racing, darts, wrestling, tennis and watching football in general, but it doesn’t interfere with attending games. Life sometimes gets in the way with birthdays and other family events taking priority over football. Otherwise, I am as dedicated as possible.

While I have a passion for various sports and enjoy the challenge of juggling them all, Notts County holds a special place in my heart and remains my top priority when it comes to sports. I make it a point to never miss a Saturday home match. Only an exceptional circumstance could keep me away. In fact, I find it more challenging to stay away from the club than to make time for other things in my life. That’s just how important Notts County is to me!

Do many Notts fans actively support an ice hockey team? They have so many games, it must be a huge time commitment...

As I live in Germany, I follow a football team here too - Waldhof Mannheim (I've posted updates about them in the past). They play in the third division now. I used to have a season ticket there, but I haven't really got back into it since covid.

Supporting a sports team is a big emotional investment, and if I lived in the UK Notts would be quite enough for me. It's a bit of a rollercoaster and you also need the time and energy to devote to other things.

Recently, I’ve found that the only games I have time for are Notts games. Most other sports have lost their appeal to me and don’t have the same inviting feeling or lure that Meadow Lane has. There’s something special about attending a football match, a real sense of pride that I don’t get from other sports.
