This is the strangest and laziest news report that I have ever possibly read. Is it about police attending an incident, has a woman fallen over and hurt herself, or is it some sort of advertisement? Only Nottinghamshire Live knows.

I hope nobody was seriously hurt. This extends to those who read this and the reporter. Just perhaps, it was the reporter who fell and ended up forgetting what they were writing?

I honestly despair at the state of journalism these days particularly on that website.

A woman banged her head. And there's a crazy golf course nearby, which takes up the bulk of the story despite being irrelevant. I'm guessing they had a minimum word count to stick to!

Derbyshire Live is just as bad  @Fan of Big Tone They have a headline that gets your attention. You start to read the report and after one sentence realise that the journalist doesn't actually have anything to report other than there has been 'an incident' There then follows a load of irrelevant waffle reporter padding out.

It was the same with the TV reporting of the recent Ilkeston Road murders. They only had limited fact but continually had a reporter struggling to pronounce street names and describing the same limited information over and over again.

The article seems strange, possibly because it needed to meet a minimum word count. Surprisingly, two people collaborated on this article. What exactly is the role of the Nottingham Post editor?

Yet the strangest thing is, I live 5 minutes away from where the "report" took place.

its the weirdest article i have read, it shows that they focus more on putting stories out and not caring about the content itself. just to get people to click but why would people keep going back reading that?

i dont read it much since they sacked ollie king.

I know it’s unlikely that Nottinghamshire Live sent a reporter, but I imagined in my head that they had. In the process, they became distracted by a dinosaur-themed crazy golf course. You couldn’t make it up. They are no longer serious about journalism or the news.

All involved need to walk away and stop writing; it’s an awful report and story. No effort at all.

I think its just an odd story to then promote something else, which is definetly not how you would approach somes accident no matter how major or minor.

I am glad I turned down working for the Nottingham Post; they lowballed me with wages that I was earning more with the job I got through university. They also wanted me to work more hours, but I know some people who were studying with me that have gone on to work for the same company, just for different areas, and they can publish directly onto the website with no editor’s interference.

They just tell them what to write and leave them to their own devices. This is pretty much the standard when you get told you need to write six articles every hour just to get paid a decent wage. Everything is better with online companies; the papers rake in money via all their advertising but pay peanuts to journalists.
