Some may think that £800,000 is not a lot for someone who is seen as an upcoming and future international player. If Liverpool can get the best out of him, they may have made a great deal. Harvey Owen is a name I will be keeping an eye on.

One issue I have with young talent being snapped up is how often they are forced to play in a certain way, rather than being allowed to develop their potential naturally. It’s a good move for the lad, but Liverpool are developing a reputation for signing young talent and hindering their natural growth.

Liverpool seems to be tapping up young talent. I wish it were harder for clubs to sign youngsters, as sometimes the change in environment doesn’t help their progression. I hope the lad manages to do well enough to establish his future. Good luck to him.

who decided the £800,000? its quite a small fee from the wolves perspective. if a tribunal agreed that fee for a promising player described as a wonderkid then its not really fair imo.

It’s a good deal for the young player. He has a good chance if he has the right attitude and makes the most of the facilities that Liverpool has to offer. I don’t think it’s a bad thing at all.

It’s a great opportunity to move to Liverpool’s academy and further learn. He will be excited about that, and the £800,000 does seem quite decent. A few years later, you would expect to see a higher fee perhaps, but just being around better players is a good thing.

I don’t think young players should be allowed to move until they are old enough; I think 14 is a bit young and 16 seems to be the age where I think young players are mature enough to take that step up. Some may disagree; I just see no point in uprooting youngsters or making their lives a difficult balance.

Good luck, I will keep an eye out for the name. The £800,000 fee may increase depending on the deal, and I hope the lad does well for Liverpool.

Good luck to Harvey Owen. It’s great when youngsters get a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to play for one of the best teams in England.
