One of my all time favourites, I loved listening to The Pogues in my misspent youth.

Proud to be a Notts County Supporter for over 60 years.

Reuniting with Kirsty MacColl, arguably one of the greatest duets and not to forget, the top Christmas song ever. It’s such a pity it happened so close to the time when the song will be heard the most. May he rest in peace.

I saw his photo the other day when he was discharged from hospital after a long illness. He didn't look very well then.Still, very sad news.He was always very entertaining ,whether performing or being interviewed.Unlike some of the other seasonal songs we'll be hearing over the few weeks I won't get tired of listening to Fairy tale of New York.Rest in peace Shane MacGowan.

He may feel that he outlived his expectations, given his struggles with alcohol and drugs. It’s truly heartbreaking, considering he was such a gifted Irish musician.

Oh oh oh ohhhhh, everywhere where we go, watching super County putting on a show!

He was a deeply troubled singer, and fame wasn’t kind to him. I was glad when he finally managed to smile again. It seemed like he had turned a corner, which makes it all the more sad to hear of his passing. Rest in Peace, Shane McGowan.

"Strive not to be a success, but rather to be of value."

"Fairytale of New York" is a hit that has everything you could want. It begins with a sombre tone, then brightens up, becoming cheerful. It's full of spirit. I haven't listened to it yet this year, but when I do, I'll be grateful for Shane McGowan's genius. May he rest in peace.

It’s truly a pity, but he lived his life the way he wanted to. It’s unfortunate that he couldn’t have received help earlier in his life, but perhaps it was his lifestyle that made him so extraordinary. Rest in Peace, Shane McGowan.

I remember reading about this: https://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2015/dec/20/shane-macgowan-a-wreck-reborn-new-teeth-tv-special

I felt happy for him, as he seemed to have a lot of demons which fueled his behaviour and habits. He was very underrated and possibly one of Irelands best songwriters. I am very saddened to learn about his death. :(

A field where dreams become reality.

Rest in Peace Shane McGowan. I don’t know much about him other than his popular Christmas song which took many months to produce. I learned about how they spent time perfecting it, as he wanted to write the best Christmas song.
