You can point the finger of blame at anyone but the reality of this season is 40 odd league 2 & conference level footballers, a management team that had one plan and one plan only and when that was figured out by the opposing teams we got hammered.

For someone that made his money in recruitment his recruitment policy manager wise has been a joke, lets just hope that he somehow manages to convince Moniz to stay and that he gives him more than a fiver a player as wages.

As someone once said "football is a simple game complicated by idiots", our idiots are clear for all to see.

Thanks for saving the club financially but ffs stop trying to be clever and let real football people run the football side, not this I want a say it's my money bollocks

Posted

Well said Stall... you get what you deserve! Certainly on the pitch we deserved this over 46 games

Posted

Moniz had no chance trying to get conference level players playing anything other than who can hit the nearest cloud irrelevant of what we are actually on the pitch to do

Posted

wanting to save the most of this squad.... oh dear, firstly they aren't good enough, secondly there will be not much money

Posted

Well we are down. So be it.

Clear out this shower of S**!e and start again. After Donny I was thinking we may have a chance. Today proved me wrong in the end.

Moniz needs a clean slate and the players need to depart asap. From my reckoning there are only a couple worth keeping. Even 'good' ones this term haven't been good enough to merit a place next year.

Emotional day for Notts and it's fans.

Hopefully Mr Trew will do one of two things.

Clear out the squad and let Moniz rebuild with the cash he deserves. (All the other idiots have had the chance so in previous close seasons so why shouldn't he?)

Sell up pronto and let us move on if he is not willing to finance an automatic spot next year.

What was Moniz thinking taking Burke off and then getting everyone back and inviting Gillingham to come at us!! Can't believe I've just witnessed us chucking it away.

was it him, or was he cajoled or panicked by others on the bench.....

It didn't pay off, the trouble is he's damned if he did and damned if he didn't.

If he'd left two up front and carried on attacking and the gills had won people would say he should have defended what we'd got.

I was wrong. The players showed bottle, but weren't good enough. Little consolation I know. I'd like to see Burke and Williams back next season.

He said when he took over attack is the best form of defence! Pity he didn't practice what he preached!

We were relegated because of the Inept management of S Derry and his laughing assistant, not Moniz. Of course it would have been better to win today and start next year in L1, but we lost the war a long time ago.

Maybe what we need is a year next season where we build from the ground up with quality rather than two-bit players. Honestly even Gills had better players than us so we need to clear out and start again.

We need to clear out... but they are talking about retaining the majority

Of course we've been relegated because of what's gone on this season but my comment referred to what's gone on today!

He was stuck between a rock and a hard place. I think Burke was coming off before he scored anyway, hence that subs. Spencer was struggling and any time he has given has been an unexpected bonus, but he is way off match fit.

I think the whole match wasn't great and overall the scoreline doesn't lie.

Clearly today needn't have happened.. had this lot performed in a mere handful of gamea throughout 2015.... but it did... and this is

where Muddy has a point.... why did he suddenly appear to bottle it and go against what he preached in attack being the best defence... the substitutions werent exactly positive

Posted

I'm not sure he bottled it as such. I just think he was aware of how frail we are as a team and had to use the tools available to him. The tools were crap. End of.

Posted

@PTID1862 It would have taken some bottle if he had come out and said anything different. He's hardly going to say publicly what we are all thinking!

Hopefully he's seen enough to realise we are ****.

Let's wait until the list comes out next week.

For me it we read like this.

Start.

C Thompson.

End.

If they retain that shower, I give up.

We will have the oldest squad in the league, before we are relegated into non-league, of course.

I feel so sorry for you all and really did not think you would be relegated. When we played Gillingham at home recently they hammered us 0-3 and we hardly deserved the 0 so losing there was always on the cards.

We have limped into the play offs and played a team that was the weakest I can ever recall including one player who we did not think actually existed. Our goalkeeper was sent off after 20 minutes and his brother came on to save the penalty ... his first touch in league football for two years. Bizarre! We cams back from 0-2 in last half hour, played a lot better so presumably now have momentum.

May I wish you all the best for next season and hope that your stay in League 2 is very brief.

Best wishes,

Mickeyr

Good luck in the play offs @medievalmickkey.See you next season at the Ipro ?

Thanks super_ram. We have a lot to do and the manager has taken a huge gamble in virtually treating the last four matches as play off preparation. From my own point of view I am glad that this did not directly impact Notts. relegation.

My wife's cousin lives in Ilkeston and is a Rams season ticket holder so, should we win the end of season lottery, could well make the trip.

The bit that worries me is that most of our lots shawdows turn quicker than they do so so feck knows how they are going to play attacking football at any level

Posted

this was part of Moniz' post match natter.... they will be looking to keep the core of that side!

Well done Notts! After a spectacular run, we finally secured that prized place in League Two at the very end. I can't wait for the fixtures to come out - I'll book flights over ASAP just so I can see us play at the glittering stadia of Accrington and Exeter and relive the halcyon glory days of the 2000s alongside literally tens of other fans. No wonder Ray Trew didn't talk to the radio, he must have been beside himself at the prospect. What a great way to spend your millions!

Seriously - despite everything, we could still have got away with it. One goal from Preston (who were unbeaten in 19 before yesterday) was all it would have taken. But we can't have any complaints. We were so bad for so long, we got exactly what we deserved. I don't mean those of you at the ground by the way, it must have been torture, and you were seemingly little appreciated by the club. I don't envy what you must have witnessed.

Myself, I stepped on the plane when Notts had just gone 1-0 up and for an hour after the final whistle I was chewing my nails, unaware of what had happened. For a moment I thought we had still got lucky when I saw Orient's and Crawley's results, but only for a moment.

I'm not sure I've ever felt this bitter and angry about football before. The season isn't over in Germany yet but that's it for me, I just can't stomach any more of it. We'll just have to see what the summer brings and hope next season is a good one.

@PTID1862 I think he'll want to retain Carroll, C Thompson, Noble, Spencer, Murray and maybe Hayhurst and Bajner, bring in a few who can actually play football and graft a successful side onto them. It's tempting to throw them all in the bin and start again but that's what we did last time and I really don't want to relive those seasons.
