Squad Shape

How do you feel the squads taking shape? Where do we need to focus now and who ideally could fill the roles required?

It seems each season we are one of the slowest to build, we need to address this in my opinion because the movement is what encourages supporters and the better quality out there is always likely to move faster. I think we are still seeking signings to convince fans we will gain promotion next year and these are the positions I want filling the most.

Goalkeeper

Centre Back

Right Back

Centre Midfield

Striker

Ben Davies could fill the CM role, he would offer cover too. Right Back, hopefully some someone between 22-27 with a bit of pace behind them. The keeper ideally not young but reliable at this level. I read somewhere Kristen Pearce us available as a free signing. He might do well with regular game time and less selfish partners a round him.

Striker upcoming would be nice, pacey and skilful. What are your thoughts?

We need to pick things up, signing so far are adequate but we really need that grit and quality which will make us a serious league 2 promotion contender. Key areas for me are midfield and defence, I want them filling in asap.

We still need a recognised right back and a defensive midfielder. We need to go for quality now, whether that is youth wanting experience or players wanting regular football. They must be able to offer us something which beats what we have already.

I wished we could get super Ben back, he would be a massive signing. We need a GK/RB/ST more than anything now. No idea who!

Can anyone throw a list together of the available players on frees?

Right back and midfield would be my focus, I think we have enough power up front and if Bajner/Garry Thompson extend their stays it would be crowded. Sign at least two more midfielder and a right back.

@BradtheMiller did you guys release Scott Loach? He would be a great keeper go but probably costly too.

@CliftonMagpie - I don't believe he's been released, just out of favour.

I think the main position is right back, we may see two come in and hopefully both would offer something different. I am keen to see news pouring out Meadow Lane with regards to signings, I don't think it will be long until we see another couple arrive. I would be surprised if we made another week without news, though right back and midfield for me are the key areas.

With regards to goalkeepers, I feel there will be more than enough to suitable to be backup.

Yes, we released Loach. TBH he never got much of a chance with us.

Don't need another keeper that should be starting in L2. Need a young backup to Roy, who will be one of the best keepers, if not the best keeper in the division anyway.

Was hoping for at least one signing this week, F5 key is getting a bit tired.

No signings? talk about stumble blocks. Can Notts upgrade from Lego to megablocks? another would be a relief about now.
