Great win, 3 points and very importantly a clean sheet for a new back four, I am very happy with that.

Shame about the red card Mark Stallard described it as "handbags" it's a shame the ref didn't see it in the same way.

Looking forward now to Tuesday and most of all our first home game, bring on the Stags.

For a back 4 or 5 including Big Roy to keep a clean sheet having never played together before is a great start and very encouraging, brilliant opening day, looking forward to seeing them on Friday.

It was a great start we played brilliant i can't fault any of the boys today, aborah, de silva, amevor, thompson, sprocken, audel and stead were absolutely class today it was a shame that amevor got sent of a bad way to end a very good debut in the black and white

Pleased with the 3 points and fill me with optimism for the rest of the season COYP!

Great start to the season. Some great passing today and defending. Definitely a handball and can't believe the ref bottled that and as for the red cards, it can only happen to Notts!!

What a day! Worth every mile and every penny. I'm still grinning from ear to ear! Absolutely fantastic result, what a way to start the new season! We were totally unrecogniseable from last season.

We looked a threat every time we came forwards, we attacked with pace, weren't afraid to run at them, and we were a real threat from set pieces. Also defensively we were much more solid. Can't remember Carroll having a real save to make. In truth we should've won by more in my opinion, we had some great chances to kill it off long before we did.

Aborah controlled the game, Thompson covered every blade of grass, Stead was a real nuisance up front and his hold up play was just subblime, and Amevor filled in brilliantly at left back. impossible to pick a MOTM - to a man they were outstanding. You could tell it meant a hell of a lot to each and every one of them too.

The only slight downer was the red card at the end, and in truth that was our own doing when we tried to show off with a daft corner routine that almost resulted in them hitting us on the break, and Amevor will be a miss. But let's not let that tarnish what was an absolutely fantastic day and result. Roll on next Friday. YOOOOUUUUU PIIIEEESSSSSSS

There were 5 yellows and 2 reds in the game, yet listening to the commentary it sounded like there could have been more... was this a dirty game? or as I suspect, did we happen to get one of the outstanding league 2 referees?

Have we got to the bottom of the half time sub? Seemed strange... injury.. poor performance.... not fit?

Sprockel had an absolute nightmare first half, was winning no headers and misplacing many passes. Bennett came on and did a much better job.

Feel pleased for you all and hope it continues.

(We were useless in first half against Bradford City and would have been flattered at 0-3. Nathan Byrne than scored a rapid hat trick and we cantered to 4 - 1 win).

Very good result, 2-0. It sounds like we could have had a couple more, although we may have conceded.

I will take the clean sheet. Well done Notts!

To be fair he didn't have the benefit of a full pre-season with the rest of the team, so it might take him a bit more time to bed in properly.
