Yeovil v Notts

As I will not be online for a few days after tomorrow (my 6 monthly trip to a Mexican border is now due), I wanted to get in early and post my score prediction.

Yeovil are on a roll.

The recently twice-relegated Championship side, have just beaten Mansfield at Field Mill, before that Accrington, before that Daggers.....and before that drew with Plymouth and Portsmouth!!

Notts meanwhile, haven't beaten anyone since.....errrr.....my memory has gone blank.

In fact, the last time we had more than 3 shots on target was...... errrrr...ok, never mind.

So.......on the basis that we have to get lucky once in a while,.... and actually score!.....................3-1 to Yeovil

5-0 to Notts (I'm going to keep predicting this until I'm right). Estimates for which season this will be in are welcome.

We beat them earlier in the season. 2-0. Stanley and Izzy with the goals. They were in dire straits then. They are in much better form now. Huish Park is a difficult place to go. Notts haven't won there since 2005. Although Notts have drawn on their last 2 visits. I'll go for 2-1 to the home side. The law of averages say we have to score sometime. Still we'll be a bit closer to the drop come Saturday evening IMO.

I'm hoping and praying that we can go and get the win, a loss here would be massively disappointing.

JF really could do with ending this defeat run, yes we have drawn recently but it still seems like a loss. It's hard to see where it will stop otherwise, but a win could make a huge difference right now - provided we can get the right performance. I say 1-0 to Notts, this may change but hopefully it's right.

@ivansneck I will agree with you, on the proviso Piethagoram's team is played.

I do like the look of that team @Piethagoram, it looks just about the best midfield combination we could use to maximise the skills of Aborah.  I would maybe go for the safer option of Hewitt over Wildin, but only until we have enough points on the board to banish any lingering relegation fears.  Then I would like to see both Wildin and Rhys Sharpe given a taste of first team action at full back.  Both have impressed me at reserve level and deserve a chance to show if they are up to the demands of League 2.  Far more satisfying to see home grown talent wear the shirt than some ageing journeyman.

Strangely, I'm feeling almost optimistic about the Yeovil game, so I'll go for 1-1.  I'm hoping Jon Stead can promote a kind of 'siege mentality' among the squad so we ignore the off field stuff and actually fight for the cause.  183 Notts fans in attendance, each one deserving a medal for their fantastic support at the hardest of times.

Another 2:0 loss coming up unless somehow we manage to pick a couple of attacking players in the side. I won't follow the game as sadly I've lost interest in away games, so won't know the result until I log onto Twitter for the expected meltdown Saturday.

Interesting tweet from Alan Hardy. Hinting that why waste time on a 10 hour round trip when the product is not good enough! He just needed to add #StanleyIn

I wouldn't drop Banton myself, him and Snijders could do wonders if played together.

I know that Notts would probably insist on using one of them as our sole outlet but having two players running directly at Yeovil would give us something different. That said, opposition managers must have their case work easy - just take highlights from any game under JF and you can devise a plan on how we will play. For me this is the most disappointing things about him, his inability to get the players doing different roles or attacking games on a possession basis rather than a 'single outlet' plan. Banton doesn't offer us much different in my opinion but he's direct, times that by two and it should enable our midfield to get a hold of the game.

Obviously this all depends on confidence and if the players can pass. *Sigh

I would look forward to the next visit to the Lane if that was Notts' team.

Our record there s dire, Yeovil are in decent form, no way will we be up for the scrap there. 1-0 loss, probably be a Zoko goal too

Thinking logically, I think @weymouthPIE is probably right. But non-scoring runs have a habit of ending in a flurry of goals when you least expect it, so I predict an 8-3 win for Notts with Aborah scoring 5, Alan Smith grabbing a hat trick and Hollis scoring an own goal with a bicycle kick from the halfway line.

Not excited for this game at all, we really should be thrashing them but JF has just drained my excitement for the rest of the season, I can't see us winning, 1-0 yeovil

In the circumstances, that's a better line up than before IF Noble is in the hole
