The Nottingham post are reporting that we have 'parted company' with Guy Branston!

you'd expect something is happening maybe branston is thinking Allen is gonna take no crap an has walked.

Or maybe Allen has made it up as part of the deal

I think it does. MA will want control of transfers in and out. I'd expect MA to be announced before the end of today.

Marvellous picture of him slicing a clearance there! :D

I'm glad he won't have any part in shaping our new squad after the horlicks he and Moniz made of it last summer. But the timing of this, when we are looking for a new manager, tells me two things:

1 - It supports the rumours that Martin Allen is joining. I reckon Allen would want total control of the team, which means he'd need Branston and Ray Trew out of the way. Which leads us onto...

2 - The Trews are staying put for the time being but are stepping more into the background. In the past Ray Trew has been quite hands-on, but now it would suit both MA and RT if he's less involved. Alternatively it could mean that a takeover is imminent with MA as their man, but I don't think that's likely.

Brilliant news.  Apparently the queue to renew season tickets is stretching past the Navi.

What right do you have to tell me I'm wrong?  You're not my Granddaughter.

3 things need to happen for me to renew. That's one of them. The second is a decent manager, Mad Dog would be one of those for me, and the third is new owners. At least this is some progress.

the clubs alleged release is not enough to get me reinterested, they will need to do a lot more. the club really should have announced the new manager by now.

They should have announced a new owner by now but we are Notts county ;)

Good riddance, as one of the few not to get blocked by him on Twitter, I might now actually try! :)

Martin Allen now surely? I can't think of any other candidate talked about that would have his knowledge of the lower leagues in order to put together a side with no scouting system.

Also what does this mean concerning the Retained list that Branston was allegedly overseeing? "Yes, we were going to offer you a contract, but now we're not!"

Could be on to something there. Last time out it was said MA wanted full control of the club, but the Trews were interfering. Now with Ray Trew in the background and AT having no (official) role in the running of the club, this could see MA get what he wanted a few years back, control of the club.

I personally would like to see it happen. However, it would be better if we have new owners as well. YP

This is a very good interview by MA and probably the reason why branston got sacked if MadDog does get the job

I really hope MA gets the job, when Ricardo got the boot I said the best thing we could do was to re-appoint him so i hope that we do

I believe the decision to part company may be down to the fact a new manager is close, perhaps they want their own scouting system?

The news does come as a surprise, at least at first but when season ticket sales are slow and the fan base is up in arms as to what is happening - it makes sense that you start to make decisions which will help to amend things with the lost support/uninterested fans. It's making me think MA may return but, that would be another surprise because I think Barnet would be the safer bet - unless this year we have a real crack at promotion.
