Prediction League Round 1

Featured Replies

Posted

The PON prediction league will be getting underway this Saturday. Those of you that took part on the trial (you can read the trial thread to get an idea of what its about) will know how much fun it was but I'd love to have even more people involved here. You don't need to know your football or be good at it, just get involed! It's great fun and a real laugh :) The more people we have taking part the better!

How it works
Every week I'll post a list of Six fixtures taking place in the Premiership, Championship, League One or League Two and all's you have to do is post your predictions for the results of each game.

All of the Saturday round games will be posted in the middle of the week, probably on a Wednesday, and the occasional Tuesday Night round fixtures will be posted on a Sunday.

The scores will be posted and tables updated on Saturday evenings/Wednesdays (hopefully that all makes sense).

Scoring System
Essentially you'll get 3 points for a correct score, 1 point for a correct result, and no points for an incorrect result.

For example:

My prediction for a match: Notts County 3-1 Stevengage

Game ends in a 3-1 victory for Notts - 3 points
Notts win, but not by a score of 3-1 - 1 point

Game ends in a draw or Notts lose - 0 points

So then, this weekend's fixtures are:

Leeds United v Brighton & Hove Albion

Middlesbrough v Leicester City

Peterborough United v Swindon Town

Preston North End v Wolverhampton Wanderers

Exeter City v Bristol Rovers

Torquay United v AFC Wimbledon

Please, do get involed :) You'll enjoy it

James

A really maaisve thanks to each and everyone of you who have taken part in this first round, I hope you continue to take part and enjoy the fun :) The next round will take place next Saturday, and I will post the selected matches on a new thread in the middle of the week, so watch this space! In the meantime thanks for taking part, and if you have only just come across this and would like to get involved please dont hesitate, jump right in! Plenty of time left in the season for you to claw it back but in truth it's not about winning. It's for fun and a bit of friendly banter :)

James

Well, not a very auspicious (have I spelt that right) start from myself but glad to see I am doing a little better than my old sparring partner @super_ram.

Well done @GrannyPie and @weymouthPIE who I will forgive for keep spelling my name wrong. It's HATELEY Mr. Weymouth for future reference.

Seriously thanks for doing this, it's going to be great fun as the season progresses and I move further up the table until I reach an unsurmountable lead at the top and wipe the floor with you all. :happy banana:

Well done old gel and Weymouth but,as applies with Notts,it's early days and I did point out in another post who I would be watching  out for and Weymouth has obliged.I'm  still not worried about Mr.' Spell my name correctly,I'll wipe the floor with you  all ' Hateley,,he'll keep tripping up over his own tongue

Thanks for doing this, Weymouth,I can't wait to see what old rentagob has to say when he's bottom of the league.

God knows why I keep getting it wrong as I do actually know the spelling lol. I'll give myself a slap on the wrist :P

I'll let you off, as the great man hasn't played for a number of years I guess you won't have seen his name a lot, until I appeared on here that is. :)
