A day of rest today after the exertions of yesterday with the kids.

We had a bit of a lie in this morning 7.30am, when I came down stairs there was the distinct aroma of beer pervading from the direction of the kitchen so I followed my nose and found my home brew barrel had sprung a leak and was oozing my precious home brew all over the new kitchen work tops, Mrs. H was not amused but I was more concerned about losing my beer. :panic:

The barrel was under pressure and there was a slight stress fracture (I have had it about 20 years!) and the pressure was forcing the beer out of a very tiny hole. A mopping up exercise followed whilst Mrs. H looked on tutting in the background. I did consider licking it up or mopping it up with a sponge and squeezing it back into the barrel but decided against it because of hygiene reasons. Luckily I have a spare barrel and was able to syphon what was left of the beer into that. :phew:

I think I lost about two pints so not a disaster but it looks a lot on a kitchen worktop. The barrel was consigned to the bin and it looks like a trip to the home brew shop will be a dinstinct possibility in the near future.

Apart from that I have had a day catching up on a bit of website work, sitting in the garden relaxing and getting ready for our camping trip tomorrow.

What's your day been like? Good, bad, indifferent?

Same old day for me.

I've been chasing a couple of features, playing with the children. Designing things and trying to keep areas ticking over, I haven't posted as much here as I'd like but it's very quiet. I can't wait for Saturday :D

I can remember when notts-joe made home brew and left the barrel on our kitchen worktop for months. It didn't turn out right so he didn't drink much in the end but i was very glad to get the barrel off the kitchen worktop

I haven't done alot today apart from the usual housewife and mother stuff. Apart from having to wash and dry half the clothes twice because Ava flipped her food off her plate into the washing basket

I hope you had a great day with the kids. tonyhateley

Can I get you to do an agony uncle column? haha. Ask Super Ram! or Super Ram Says... It would be funny! I can see it being strangely popular and amusing. LOL

Dear Uncle Super Ram

My team had a good pre season, have made some decent signings, have a young up and coming manager but now the season has started they don't seem to be firing on all cylinders, can you suggest anything?

@tonyhateley Put your boots back on and don't make me say this again! ;) I've told you already - You don't need Uncle Super Ram to answer your questions. hehe

Sorry I've not been on much this weekend. Was at Weymouth on Saturday, was at a family barbeque yesterday and was at Poole v Weymouth today. Decent game, finished 2-2 and Poole had two players sent off. We went 1-0 up right on half time after a pretty uneventfull 45 minutes. Around the hour mark Poole had 1 man sent off for a two footed lunge. They then brought Mark Gillespe on who always scores against us and he did so again, twice in 5 minutes to put Poole 2-1 ahead!

Poole's goalkeeper had been gobbing off all afternoon and eventually he was booked. When the ref showed him the yellow card he gave the ref a little slap on the head. There was no mallice in it but you don't touch the ref, and he was sent off.

Naturally, Poole stuck 9 men behind the ball and eventually we did level ten minutes from time. Both sides could have won it late on, we should have had a penalty when their defender literally punched the ball away from a corner but I suppose the ref had given us enough for the afternoon. A 2-2 draw, 10 points from our opening 4 games I'll take :) At least my local side have been a strong start

My cousin follows Barnet so I keep an eye on their results. An eventful game away at Braintree Town yesterday. Braintree had 2 men sent off in the first half. Barnet missed a penalty but went on to win 3-0 so they are now top of the table.

I also keep an eye on Hucknall Town. They won their first game of the season yesterday so fair play to them.

I think Barnet should do well, they've got some good young players. Plus Edgar Davids should easily be up to the non league, provided he can keep fit.

Hucknall have had some misfortune - I wished they would creep back up the leagues.

I just don't see it currently :)
