Ah, this is one of those strange little clubs that come up from non-league. Although apparently they were in the League before, back when Steps were in the charts. In this fixture last season, we beat them by starving them of the ball and imposing our game on them. If we do that again, they'll struggle to cope. On the other hand, if we're cautious and reactive and allow them to fire throw-ins and set pieces into our box, it'll be a long afternoon. Obviously Cameron and McGoldrick will be back. I have a feeling Macari will retain his place too. If anyone reading this hasn't got a ticket, I've just had an email saying that some more have just been released. I'd get booked quick. Mad that I'm even typing this, we used to be happy to get 6000

Will worry about our defence in coping with Wrexham's high ball game. Cameron Baldwin Macari as the back 3?

It’s ironic that for the Newport match we had a make shift back line and kept a clean sheet, however I do think Williams should revert to his strongest team possible for the Wrexham game because they will be a different kettle of fish to Newport. It will be a tough game because as we know Wrexham are a very good team but if Notts play as well as we know they can for 90+ minutes there’s no reason why we can’t take all three points but if we can’t win then it’s important we don’t lose.

Yeah, tough one this, but I seem to remember John Sheridan had a short spell as manager at Newport.

Yep a very good night for us. Jones sounded like he gave their full back a night to forget, Macca unlucky not to get a hat-trick and chances for Morias too. But most importantly to me we got a clean sheet (maybe aided by the poor performance of Newport) but a good confidence boost for the defence nonetheless. Sets us up nicely for Wrexham.

A very good 3-0 win, goals from Crowley and 2 from Langstaff, Jodi Jones got a well deserved MoM award from the sponsors and I entirely agree with them he played a huge part in all three goals. Special mention for Lewis Macari who had a faultless performance in the back three. Notts were missing key players Bostock, McGoldrick and Cameron so this made the win even more pleasing. Just over 8,000 fans at the match.

So far so good, Notts winning 2-0 at half time goals from Crowley and Langstaff both after brilliant work by Jody Jones who is man of the match so far. Morias has had two really good chances but put both over the bar.

I had us down as starting the season slowly and finishing outside the playoffs by the end of the season, so I’m delighted with the way we have started. One thing that worried me all summer was the fragility of the defence and that has proved to be correct, but I hope and expect Notts to start addressing this in January. Whether or not we do enough to go up isn’t an issue for me because I can see us being even stronger next season and I would rather see us get out of this division stronger and only need to change 3 or 4 players, rather than need 7 or 8 as that has been a recipe for disaster in the past. We will get better, just need to keep picking up as many points as we can before the transfer window opens. LW has been spot on by giving the players who got us promoted a chance to prove themselves, and half a season is more than long enough for them to do so.

So he's off to the National League North and what a great start! Rushall won 5-0 he came off the bench and scored! Should be a good move for him, if he does well there maybe a move to a National League club will be his next loan.
