Well my fellow PON Members. That is the question. Can Notts get Promotion in 2025? Notts have made a great start & with a quarter of the season completed they sit in 3rd position in the table on 26 points, with just 2 losses in 14 matches. Notts have shown improvements in the defensive area that has seen them only concede 12 goals in the league, which is less than 1 goal a game on average. Notts have continued to demonstrate, that although they lost Langstaff before the beginning of the season, they haven't lost their potency up front, with 22 goals scored in the league up to now. Notts have all the all round attributes to make a challenge this season, & it is entirely possible that a team with 90 points could get automatic promotion, Notts are well on the way. I think it is possible for Notts to get automatic promotion this year. They do have some tough games coming up this month, starting at Doncaster. If they can get through these tough matches this month with a reasonable points tally, & get some of their best players back from injury in January, the promotion charge will be on. Thoughts?2 points

So Because we disagree with you @Piethagoramwe're Far Right? You don't Even Know Me. Sorry Comrade My Bad. Then Raise The Scarlet Standard High, Beneath It's Shade, We'll Live And Die Though Cowards Flinch And Traitors Sneer, We'll Keep The Red Flag Flying Here. I'm Patriotic I'm Proud to Be a White Englishman. But I suppose in your Book that Makes Me Racist. Debate on Twitter or X as it is. No Thanks. All that means is people like you will back you up and Feed your Insecurities. You Lost your Argument the Moment You Insulted Me by calling Me Far Right. And you're Not Worth Debating, My Final Words On This Subject.1 point

Trouble is @Piethagoram the #FBPE clientele on X don't debate do they. They think they are right & everyone else is wrong. Sound familiar? For @Wheelbarrow repair man sake this is what the Hashtag FBPE is on X "The acronym FBPE, often used as the hashtag #FBPE, pops up frequently on social media, especially Twitter. It stands for ‘follow back, Pro-European Union’ & is the label used by a campaign to cultivate a strong pro-European voice online". Source Google.1 point

I'm all for Banning Political Comment Completely on this Site ( something I have Stated in the Past) Unfortunately there always seems that certain Members seem Hell Bent on Dragging their Political Views onto it under some other Guise. this Topic is headed The Hidden Payments To The Monarchy. It's Debated then suddenly the So Called £22 Billion Pound Black Hole left by the Tory Government is Bought Up Why? Why Britain should Go Back into the EU Why? The State of the NHS Education Why? This as Nothing to Do with the Topic in hand. I asked Questions about the Monarchy that haven't Been Answered and it seems along with @Robbie that we are Classed as the Bad Guys for Disagreeing with @Piethagoram Political Views? I Really Do Hope that @Chris Reads These Comments @Fan of Big Tone and Says ENOUGH, AND BANS ALL POLITICAL COMMENT ON PON. Because all it Does is Divide Fans who have their Own Political Beliefs and Cause Bad Blood Between Supporters of Notts County F.C . Debating The Magpies Fortunes is the Real Reason why @Chris Started this Whole Site in the First Place. KEEP POLITICS OUTOF SPORT AND OFF THIS SITE!!1 point

Yes if we can keep relatively injury free and maybe make a couple of judicious signings in January I think promotion could become a reality, I certainly hope so.1 point

@bang on @Wheelbarrow repair man These sort of threads are basically used to push an agenda on anyone that will read it. Personally as I've said on countless occasions, I'd rather not have political discussion on this board. There are plenty of political boards out there to discuss these things rather than on here. Political discussion sows division & that's unfortunate because we all have a common interest in supporting Notts..1 point

What a Load of Cr@P. @Piethagoram (with respect) You trust the BBC the Observer and Channel 4, to Give A Fair and Honest Point Of View? And want to go back to be ruled by unelected Elites to make our lives Miserable Again, while they line their pockets. The People of the Country voted to come out of the EU in a Democratic Vote. To Return to the EU would Prove that this country is Nothing Better than Communist State where you have No Rights No Free Will No Free Speech and You Do As You Are Told, You Will Own Nothing And Will Be Grateful And Happy. Klaus Swab who's Father was a Nazi. The Reason for Brexit Not Working Is the Failure of the Tory Government to Go About it the Correct Manner the UK is still Shackled to the EU by being a Member of the ECHR and other European Bodies, the Tories Totally Failed in what they Promised a Complete And Total Break Away from the EU. It will be No Better under the Current Government, because like the Tories before them, they are all Singing from the Same Hymn Sheet. It is also Interesting how this Topic began about so called Hidden Payments about the Monarchy, only to be Hi Jacked by your Political Views.1 point

Putting words in people's mouths again @Piethagoram. Do I have to repeat it. Liebour are the government of the Country. They are responsible for the unpopular policies they are pursuing. No one else Stop trying to deflect by bringing the hard working Royal Family into this. Your precious Liebour Party is losing popularity daily & trying to deflect from an hopeless position is somewhat pathetic to be honest. Even Unite are taking the government to court over the this government's mean cutting of the pensioners winter fuel allowance. Liebour are going to spend over £70 billion on projects but cannot afford 1.4 billion for pensioners this winter. It's pathetic.1 point
-
@Wheelbarrow repair man is right & I agree. This is an anti Monarchy article. It's a desperate attempt to deflect from the targeting of hard up pensioners, farmers & others by this terrible government, who are sinking in the polls like a stone. The only person responsible for the increase in the winter fuel payment is two tier Kier & is awful cabal who made that decision themselves, when they didn't have to.1 point

@Wheelbarrow repair man l looked on Google to see what Ryan Giggs is currently doing and he is down as Director of Football at Salford City, so I'm not sure what's happening. And he was in the Dugout for Salford City for their win the other day against Shrewsbury in the FA Cup, so It all seems a little confusing somewhat. But he does have huge ties to Man Utd, so anything happening there will surely interest him.1 point

I don't think they survive this season. There's a reason why I put them in the bottom 4 of my League 1 predictions. Nothing up front and other teams have got better. You needed to get recruitment right in that league this summer and they haven't. They won't make steps forward again unless Roland Wycherley sells the club1 point

After coming back onto the PON Website, after doing other Stuff I Suddenly find that a Greenlight is Flashing around the W of my User Name. There's a Big Green Banner which says Wheelbarrow Rep, it's Not just my User Name but all PON Members who are on line, that's Flashing. Is this a New Thing? Or is it some Technical Glitch, that's only Happening on My Screen? If it's the Former Please Stop It, Because It's Extremely Off Putting. Really there's Nothing Worse than trying to read someone's Comment when you can see this Flashing Greenlight at the Edge of Your Vision, it keeps Dragging My eyes back to the Movement. If it's the latter I hope Someone Can Put It Right. Thanks1 point

It Still Rankles with Me and other Magpie Fans I know, with Richard Montague Beating His Chest Declaring It will take a Massive Offer for Macca to Leave the Lane. Yeah Blah Blah Blah. I still think there's more to Macca's leaving than We Fans are being told. The whole Truth of the situation May Never Come Out. I think I heard there was an Agreement that Luke Williams wouldn't Poach any players from Notts when he went to Swansea. But I Couldn't see how such an Agreement would Stand Up in a Court of Law. Interestingly Enough Macca was full of Praise for his Head Coach at Gateshead and before William's appointment wasn't there a rumor that the Gateshead Coach at the time was on Notts Radar? Before they settled on Luke Williams. So both the Gateshead Coach and Luke Williams got the Best out of Macca, by playing to his Strengths, while it appears the Head Coach at Millwall doesn't seem Bothered about trying to Get the Best Out Of Macca. I also remember after Macca's Departure there was a Rumor that Leeds had flown Macca back to the UK from Millwall's Spanish training Camp to sign for them, only for him to be Loaned Straight back to the Lions for this Season. Rumors Rumors they abound some have some form of truth to them. Such has the Strong Rumor that I stated on the PON Site that Jodi could be out for up to Six weeks, which was Confirmed by the Club Days Later. We'll get the Truth of Macca's Leeds Rumor at the End of this season or maybe even January. Because Leeds play more in the way that Macca has become used to so is Millwall just a Stop Gap and this is Why Macca doesn't seem to be getting a Regular Starting Spot? We'll have to wait and See.1 point

@Piethagoram Don't you think going into Administration is the First Step On The Road Towards Liquidation? And as I've said the Scottish FA Could have introduced other Measures to Punish the Club, rather than handing them a 15 point Deduction. Surely the Scottish Authorities should be trying to Help Cally instead of throwing Up more Hurdles for them to get over? You also state the Club, Paid to buy Success when it's Financially Unsustainable. At the time the owners made their Decision I would think that they Didn't think their Plan was Financially Unsustainable and you can't tell me other clubs wouldn't have made the same Decision, to Buy Success if they had the Financial Backing. Cally owners took a Gamble, which didn't pay off, they're Not the First nor will be they be the Last Owners to take Such a Gamble. An Independent Football Regulator has been mooted about for a Time Now, where are they? Who will appoint them? The Government? What sort of Powers will they have? It could it be that the Premier League Doesn't Want An Independent Football Regulator? Of course the Premier League is a Law unto it's self. Well the Rich Clubs Are. It's as @Robbie says Rules need to be in Place, Written Down to Stop the Big Rich Clubs from taking all the Cream from TV Deals etc Both Transfer Fees and Wages need to Be Capped, plus the Amount of Foreign Players and Coaches being allowed to ply their Trade in English Football, to the Cost of English Playing and Coaching Talent. If Cally (or any Club for that matter) had been given a Budget they had to Stick to they wouldn't have found themselves in the Current Financial Mess.1 point

Not having the Data to hand @Robbie. You've stated this time last Season Notts had let in 25 goals, where as this season it's 12. but how many Goals had Notts scored this time last season compared to this Season? I think it will be a lot more. The Notts defense have tightened up a lot more than last season, but losing a Match 4-3 under Williams compared to 1-0 under Maynard, it's Still a Loss. I get the feeling reading Comments on here from PON Members the Big Worry is the Magpies Slipping back into Dull Tippy Tappy Football of Last Season. It seems Most Fans prefer the more Adventurous Type of Football Maynard got the Magpies playing at the Start of this Campaign. The Real Big Plus (at the moment) is the way Stuart Maynard and the Squad are coping with the Injured Players who are Missing from the Notts Ranks. The Main Question Is, For How Much Longer? The Run of Matches and Tough Training is eventually Going To Take It's Toll on the Remaining Squad Members. Yes we all want to see Didzy start along side Jatta, but with the Greatest of Respect, Eventually Didzy is going to start Feeling the Strain, and his Body may Not be able to Cope. It could be time for Stuart Maynard to Blood Some Of His Youngsters.1 point

I'm Xenophobic if I Don't want a Foreign Coach or Mainly a German Coach in Charge of the England Team. OK. The fact of the Matter is I don't want a Foreign Coach in Charge of the England Team because it is my Belief that a Foreign Coach Not matter how Successful with Fully Embrace the Historical Footballing Heritage of the English Game. Both former Foreign Coaches who have been in charge of the English National Side, despite their success at Club level have failed in the England Job. Thomas Tuchel is German and I have pointed out how difficult a Job he will have should he take over the Reins of Leading England. Simply because History is Against him events that happened before he was Born shouldn't have an effect on his appointment, but it will be The First time England are Beaten under his Leadership all the Main Stream Media will Stir things up and References will be made to the Past Hostilities between our two Countries. Cast your mind back to the Headlines of the Gutter press of the 80's and 90's every time England and Germany Met in a Major Football Match. You Can Not Erase or Rewrite History. Xenophobia is also a Form of Racism. Let me Fully State I am Not Racist I have Supported every Player who has pulled on a Notts Shirt, No Matter his Skin Colour Ethnic Origin which God he follows or who he goes to Bed With, and I Will Continue to Do So, Even though I am a White Straight Male which at the Present Moment in time seems to be the Worst thing I can Possibly Be.1 point

This is more than likely Fake. Elon as done stuff like this before and it turned out to be someone in a Robot Suit, this maybe the same. The only time to worry I would say is when Robots become Androids like Data in Star Trek The Next Generation. Yes I Know it's an Actor, but if Robots Do Ever become that Intelligent and Self Aware then the Human Race May Have Problems, They'll have to be a Kill Switch or a Short Life Span (like in Blade Runner) incorporated into each Robot/Android.1 point

@Robbie I would be surprised if he wasn't, this young man has shown he can be a good addition to the First Team Squad, and the way the Notts Injury list is growing, it wouldn't be a surprise if he didn't line up the the Starting XI on a more regular basis.1 point

Ah Yes a certain Mr Russell King. A Con Man Without Equal. If any of my Fellow PON Members are Interested his Story is Told on You tube. Type In Thoughty 2 This Man Scammed The World And Nobody Noticed. I can't put it up on here, because I haven't got a Clue how to Up Load It. Someone Else may be able too? @Piethagoram In answer to your questions. Regarding remembering Derby taking part in the Anglo/ Scottish Cup, I remember the Rams playing a Scottish and Derby Keeper Colin Boulton was fouled rather badly by a Scottish Forward ( don't remember his name or team). Colin got up and laid him out with one Punch. My Mum was so shocked, she just said OOH he's just Hit Him. And if memory serves the only thing which happened to Boulton was he got a Talking too by the Ref, Not Even A Yellow Card. As to your second Question, Back in the 1970's I was a Young Innocent Lad who hadn't met his future Notts Supporting Wife and at the time I hadn't been seduced into following the Magpies1 point

I am pleased with the win. The EFL Trophy doesn’t mean much to me, but I am delighted that Stuart Maynard gave several youngsters a chance. They performed well, especially against more experienced players. Robbie Cundy doesn’t seem to be the best signing we’ve made.1 point

Tyson Fury is a simpleton who trash talks like a 6-year-old. He is a decent boxer, but not as good as he thinks. Antony Joshua can be unprofessional, but he is realistic. He has a few more years of fighting left, and beating Fury would prove a point. That fight will be big, but I expect Fury to come up with something to avoid it. Usyk taught him a lesson.1 point

We've been over this Time and Time Again Gentlemen/Ladies regarding the Notts Academy Players and their advancement into the Notts Senior Squad and then into the Starting XI. Does anyone Honestly believe that any of these players will get their Chance? I for one would like to think so, but over the Years Talented Young players just get Shipped Out on Loan to learn how to play Men's Football and then they're Never Heard from again, until the Contract is up and they're let go, or if they're Lucky Sold on for the elusive Undisclosed Fee. Kudos to Stuart for having the Belief in his Young players and having the Backbone, to play them during the Match, as it's been said they all must be on Cloud 9 today The Only thing to put a Dampner on things is, if he decides to repeat the Process and Notts get Thumped, then the Calls of does SM know what he's Doing playing all these young Kids? Why didn't play a Team who had a chance. Sure Most Members on Here couldn't be bothered about this Trophy saying it's a waste of time, and extra games Notts could do without but it's Great Opportunity for Stuart to Blood His Young Players, but a Big Defeat will start the Moaning Minnie's off Again. Personally I'll say Keep Doing What You're Doing Stuart.1 point

@Chris So AJ throwing a Tantrum when Ursyk beat him and took his Belts off him, isn't a Sign of Disrespect? Tyson Fury is a Showman his Antics are to put Bums on Seats. Look at Ali and all the things he Got Up to over the years. He used to Rile his opponents up and their Fans. You're probably to young to remember Ali and George Foreman's Rumble in the Jungle. Go and watch Ali in his Build Up to that Fight (it's on You tube) he plays with George's mind. During the Fight it's self Ali got the Crowd Chanting Ali Ali Bom ba da (I know that's spelt wrong) But it Means Ali Ali KILL HIM. Fury is like Ali (not in the Boxing sense) but he winds people up, and they watch him fight in the Hope Somebody will Beat Him. Regarding him Ducking Fights, That's just the Media trying to Bring the Gypsy King Down. Because that's what the British Media Do if some British Star (No matter what sport) Brings home a World Championship, they first shower them with Praise, then go about with knives drawn and start Digging Up as much Dirt on any British World Champion they can find, then Go About Attempting to Destroy Their Reputation. Even if England had Won the Euro's, how long Do You Think It Would Be, before the Gutter Press would have Started going about trying to Devalue the Victory? Even if Harry Kane had Scored a Hat Trick in the Final, a couple of weeks to a Month all manner of Lies would have appeared in the Media about Harry. Why? Because Good News Doesn't Sell Newspapers, Magazines or Gets People to click on to their Online Stories. And as the saying goes keep telling People the same Lies over and over again and Eventually a Large amount of them, will End Up Believing them.1 point
-
Aye @Robbie, Notts should take them seriously , despite their Start to the Season, it's Not a certain 3 points in the Bag for the Magpies. But I Don't think Stuart will allow his First XI to think Notts will win the Game, just by turning up. I'm sure they will be given the Respect they deserve.1 point

What occurred was a horrific event, and it was one of the darkest days in football history. The UK struggled to adapt to the incident at first, but those involved who tragically lost their lives will never be forgotten.1 point

It appears that there is little that can be done at this point except for us to hope that he has a speedy recovery. However, on paper, it seems like a promising signing. While the player's injury or condition may be out of our control, expressing hope for their recovery can be a way to show support and positivity. It also indicates that we are invested in their well-being beyond just their performance on the field. Regarding the signing, it's possible that the player's abilities and potential were evaluated based on their past performances, statistics, or other factors. These objective measures may have led to a positive assessment of the player's potential contribution to the team. However, it's important to remember that a player's success is not solely determined by their individual skills or past accomplishments. Factors such as team dynamics, coaching, and overall team performance can all impact a player's ability to perform well. Therefore, while it may seem like a good signing on paper, there are still many variables that could affect the player's success and the team's overall performance. Ultimately, only time will tell whether or not the signing was truly successful.1 point

There are 9 games left in the season, and Notts are currently 4 games behind Wrexham. For Notts to catch up, they will need to suffer only one defeat and achieve one draw, and then win the remaining games to equal the same amount of points. It is a challenging expectation to believe that either Notts or Wrexham can maintain their winning ways throughout the remainder of the season. It is likely that points will be missed, but all we can do is hope that the Notts players do their best to keep up with Wrexham until the final outcome is confirmed.1 point
