  1. McGoldrick was a revelation when he came on but before that I was impressed with our defending. First half we defended the box really well and second half Grimsby went very route one but we stood strong. Slocombe and the back 3 were really solid for me, I’d say Platt just edges it because he pretty much won every header.

  2. You can see what David McGoldrick brings, and exactly what we have missed during his absence, but for me Nick Tsaroulla deserves my vote for all of his contributions to the game. He did very well, and took on players to open up chances. Great to have McGoldrick back, but Tsaroulla gets my vote.

  3. The whole team stepped up to the plate tonight with a great all round performance especially in the second half. I have chosen 6 players for my shortlist for Man of the match. Matty Platt was a colossus in the Notts defence, George Abbott was back to is very best in midfield, Conor Grant had his best match since returning from injury, Sam Slocombe came in & did a great job in goal, Alassana Jatta was doing what he does best, & David McGoldrick was back with a bang. All had a good shot at getting my gong, however I think Abbott was an absolute Colossus tonight, so he is my Man of the Match

  4. I was going to pick Tsaroulla before Didzy came on but I’ve got to pick Didzy not only for his superb goal but from the affect he has on the team giving them a lift just by being on the bench,

  5. A fantastic win for Notts tonight at inform Grimsby who were on an 8 game unbeaten run. Goals from Jatta & Didzy coming on as substitute & scoring late on. I have chosen 12 players to choose from for the PON Man of the Match. I haven't included Bass who went off early do to an injury. The 12 players are:- Slocombe, Bedeau, Platt, Macari, Palmer, Tsaroulla, Gordon, Grant, Abbott, Whitaker, Jatta, McGoldrick Please choose your player & tell us why you chose him.

  7. When Nick Tsaroulla plays like he did yesterday, it's clear what Crawley Town are missing and what Notts has gained. He was in class, putting in a very good performance. Matty Platt and David McGoldrick also did well. George Abbott deserves a mention, but Tsaroulla stands out for his minutes on the pitch and overall display.

  12. A vital 3 points. Didzy provided the leadership that we were painfully lacking. Hopefully whatever crisis of confidence that SM is suffering from is also in the past. We are in the mix for automatic promotion. It's there for the taking.

  15. David McGoldrick is my Man of the Match. He set Notts up to win and his introduction gave the squad a big lift. There were some good individual performances, but I feel McGoldrick tops them all.

  16. You're quite correct @Fan of Big Tone.It wasn't just the results,it was the performances.More of the same from both of my teams please.

  17. Tell us how you really feel Andy! Wow, they only lost 2-0 but you'd have thought it was 8-0! That's 15 matches without a win for Mansfield… They’ve had a couple of draws but most of the results have been losses. They’ve got a tough run in too but I think they’ll be just about safe come the end of the season due to the bottom four having too much to do. To be fair to them, League 1 is really strong at the moment. Bottom 4 aside their aren't really any 'dud' teams...

  24. Good Morning overcast here and chilly. Looks like there is rain in the air. Slept well last night after a great win by Notts. Bouncing back after two dissapointing results, shows that this squad is prepared to battle for the remaining ten matches. We can afford ourself a couple of days of euphoria, but attention now switches to the next game. A crucial game to come on Saturday at Meadow Lane when Notts entertain Chesterfield. A massive game that Notts need to win. Didzy gives us hope.

  27. Good morning it’s a lovely bright start to the day but cold. I assume everyone is waking up happy after last nights results? Even @super_ram should have a smile on his face this morning. I’ve not got much on for today apart from a walk to the shops maybe for a mooch around to see if they are giving anything away, yeah right that’ll be the day. Have a lovely day whatever you are doing.

  31. Fair play to the team tonight, dug in and secured a really good result. Hopefully that will calm everyone down a bit and give the players a much needed confidence boost. It was all about playing sensibly and pragmatically tonight given the awful pitch condition and we did it. I mean, I’ve gone for some weekend walks over farmers fields recently and they’ve been in better condition than Grimsby’s pitch, it really did affect the quality of the match. What a difference McGoldrick makes though, just individual quality that unfortunately the rest of our attacking midfielders can’t get close to. Great to have him back. Just hope Bass is ok, that said Slocombe did well considering he hasn’t played for months either!

  32. That’s a great win for Notts on a pitch that resembled the pitch on our local park. Jatta is back in the goals and Didzy comes off the bench to show how important he is to Notts. The only downside was Bass going off injured in the first half but Slocombe came on and did what he had to. Well done Notts, bring on Chesterfield.
