  1. The National League years serve as a reminder that life exists outside of the Football League. However, it also reminds us that we cannot take the club for granted. After the poor seasons we’ve had under other reigns, it’s refreshing to have owners who are moving the club forward.
  2. I really value the way @ARLukomski incorporated the post-match scenes in his vlog. It demonstrates the significance of the clubs to him and how deeply he is invested in the game. It’s clear that he has a genuine passion for football and it’s great to see that reflected in his content.
  3. Well said, @upthepies. I would agree with everything you have said, the Reedtz seem well prepared and our clubs future does look to be promising right now. Long may it continue.
  4. It’s so refreshing to have owners like the Reedtz brothers who genuinely care about the club and its success. Their statement is a testament to their leadership and vision for the future of Notts County.
  5. This article really captures the excitement and joy of Notts County’s promotion back to the Football League. It’s great to see the team and fans celebrating together.
  6. It may not have been the ideal performance, but what counts is the win! Securing it through penalties made it even more special, despite the added tension. What a fantastic trip to London! The reactions of the players were brilliant.
  7. Fantastic photographs, Chris. There are some truly superb shots in the collection!
  8. I wonder how Luke Williams can resolve the nerves in defence because it hinders the ability to go forward. The deep line becomes a nightmare when teams rush out and put more energy into their play. Chesterfield came out wanting it more and played like they had a point to make. The referee made some questionable decisions, but I think he got the penalty decision correct. Unfortunately for Sam Slocombe, he caused two issues at the very start. He looked nervous and if he remains at the club, this defensive issue needs to be worked on. Good teams will find it easy to exploit this weakness, as Wrexham, Boreham Wood and Chesterfield all did. I thought Aaron Nemane was class, but other players like Adam Chicksen and Sam Austin were average. They didn’t contribute much to the game and I think Luke Williams made the right call by bringing Jodi Jones on quicker than normal because he helped change the outcome. Ruben Rodrigues wasn’t very bright but scored well. Macaulay Langstaff had chances but we didn’t bring him into the game. Cedwyn Scott helped in this regard. People praise John Bostock who was solid going forward but clumsy in key areas defensively. His goal was a redeeming stunner and I won’t dwell too much on the penalty.
  9. I don’t think Chesterfield will be too concerned about our previous encounters, just as I believe we wouldn’t be. It’s more on them to want to correct those previous defeats, but at the same time, complacency can become a worrying thing. I am hoping for the best. If any of their players decide to dive like they did last time, the official needs to quickly put a stop to it. It’s important that the game is played fairly and that any unsportsmanlike behavior is dealt with promptly.
  10. I couldn't agree more with Colin's assessment of the match and the electric atmosphere at Meadow Lane. The tension and excitement were palpable, and I also felt a sense of apprehension as I made my way to my seat after the half time break, wondering if our team could pull off a comeback. I share Colin's sentiments about the two turning points in the match, particularly the tactical changes that allowed us to exploit Boreham Wood's defense. Jodi Jones and Cedwyn Scott were both outstanding in the latter stages of the match, and their contributions were crucial in securing our victory. I was also moved by Colin's mention of Jason Turner and how he silently prayed for the team's success. It's a testament to how much Notts County means to its fans, and how we never forget those who have played a part in the club's history. The scenes of celebration at Meadow Lane were unforgettable, and I can relate to Colin's joy at seeing his kids' faces light up with excitement. It's moments like these that make being a football fan so special, and I can't wait to see what the team achieves in the National League Playoff Final against Chesterfield. As Ryan Raynor said, Notts County is more than just a football club - it's a source of joy, excitement, and community for all of us fans. I'm proud to support the Magpies, and I know that win or lose, our team will always have our support.
  11. This seems much harder. I’m guessing it’s Steve Finnan, although I don’t think he made 200 appearances for any of his clubs. Are you counting cup games?
  12. Jodi Jones netting the winner for Notts was a superb moment. It thankfully prevented another lottery that is the penalty shootout. Aden Baldwin's brace and the goal from Jones rescued the win and what scenes followed! The club hasn't been as thrilled as that in decades, if not longer.
  13. If Ryan Reynolds were to attend Wembley to wish Notts County all the best, it would certainly be a kind gesture of support. Despite owning Wrexham, it would demonstrate that he cares about the team and its fans and wants to see them succeed.
  14. If every Notts player puts in a good effort and works hard on Sunday, I am confident about the final outcome. The most important factor will be the officials. Notts can score goals, but it is important that the officials make the right decisions. If the game is well-officiated, I have no concerns. However, if the focus is on the officials rather than the game, it may be difficult for Notts to score. I hope it won't be like the Dagenham & Redbridge game.
  15. Macaulay Langstaff is one of those rare players that we can just sit back and enjoy his time at Notts without fear of transfer speculation. It would be amazing if he could break into the top five all-time goalscorers for the club. Let’s show our support and cheer him on!
  16. Notts has a lot of attacking options. One addition I would like to see is the arrival of Jodi Jones on a permanent basis. If Ruben Rodrigues leaves, Jones or Sam Austin could fill that void. Both would be decent replacements, but I hope he stays. Ruben has a chance to cement something at Notts, which might not work out for him if he leaves. Wishful thinking is that he stays. The defense needs further work. I would like to see another strong center back arrive and someone to continue to get the best out of Adam Chicksen. Signing Joel Taylor seemed a masterstroke by Notts as he helped get the most out of Chicksen. If the new left back is versatile, it would leave game minutes elsewhere when Chicksen is irreplaceable. I don’t think we’ve seen the last of Frank Vincent, but he needs to work harder to increase his game time.
  17. Adam Chicksen has had a remarkable season for Notts County and is dedicated to helping his teammates improve. He has decided to stay at the club for another two years, thanks in part to the leadership and values of his coach, Luke Williams. Frank Vincent has also been making a strong impression since returning from his loan spell. With such a strong team mentality, it’s no surprise that Notts County has been successful this season
  18. Notts County should play a strong game against York City. Matt Palmer is a key player who holds the ball and distributes it without fuss. If Macaulay Langstaff starts, he should have plenty of efforts on goal. Aden Baldwin, Kyle Cameron and whoever joins them at the back need to work tirelessly to remain alert. Keeping a clean sheet with few efforts on goal would be a big confidence boost going into the playoffs. Arron Nemane, Adam Chicksen, Sam Austin and Ruben Rodrigues will be priorities with the creative aspects. And if needs be, Luke Williams can wrestle each match official to the ground and chase them off if their decision making turns out to be poor. That’s one way to keep the game fair!
  19. Looks like Luke Williams is not only a great manager but also a skilled deer chaser! The players must be feeling confident knowing their coach can handle anything that comes their way - even if it's a deer on the training ground. Let's hope they can carry this agility and persistence into their match against York City at the weekend!
  20. Jim O’Brien’s experience and attitude on the field are truly something special. He brings a level of skill and determination that can’t be taught. His passion for the game and his drive to succeed set him apart from the rest. It’s clear that his experience has shaped him into the player he is today, and his attitude is a reflection of his dedication to the sport.
  21. At 3-2, one might have thought “here we go again” as we’ve experienced similar collapses in previous seasons. But this squad is different. Maidstone United deserve credit for not giving up. From the highlights, it could have easily been a hammering for them, but they turned it into a real game.
  22. This season has been an absolute joy to watch. If it wasn’t for Notts and Wrexham being so closely matched in their battle for the National League title, it could have been just another run-of-the-mill season. But credit must be given where it’s due, to Luke Williams, the squad and our owners. And let’s not forget Ryan Reynolds, who has shown himself to be a true gentleman with his gracious comments about Notts. He seems to have his heart in the right place.
  23. @CliftonMagpie, you’ve provided so much detail that my brain is doing the cha-cha! @super_ram, I am loving it. If you could see me right now, you’d wonder why my tash is doing the tango. ????
  24. If Notts were to pile the pressure on Maidenhead, causing them a nightmare and scoring 8 goals but still not winning the league, it would sum up this club in a nutshell. I don’t see Wrexham losing, so I think the focus should be on putting together a convincing display that eases Luke Williams’ mind and shows the fans that the club is focused for the playoff run. It will be incredibly important to avoid defeats in the final two games, as confidence and morale are always big factors when it comes to achieving promotion. No doubt Maidenhead will want to try to spoil our run.
  25. This is right up my alley. Based on what @liampie has written, I would assume that his career peaked in the 90s since he would have been young before that. Did this striker happen to make it big with his local team or a team from the area where he was born? Can you give us a clue about his qualities as a striker? Playing for 20 clubs could mean he wasn't very good, but that wouldn't limit him much since Notts has had some awful forwards over the years.
