The energy price cap will rise by 2% on 1st October, I’ve taken Martin Lewis’s advice to ditch and switch. I’ve been with Octopus and was sad to leave them but I did a check on Martin’s Energy Club and if I switch to Outfox Energy I can save £13 a month. So I’ve started the switching process which was very easy. Well I’ve ordered my new varifocals they were £180 that’s with the cheapest £30 frames, I’m glad I’m not a fashion icon. 😂 Some of the designer frames were a ridiculous price just because a celebrity has lent their names to them. I certainly didn’t fancy the Elton John frames, they were a bit outlandish.

I don’t live in the area I was brought in now, when I married I moved out of Nottingham to one of the outlying towns, the houses were cheaper to buy. The area I grew up was a small community of around 5 or 6 streets off a main road. Our street had a small sweet shop run by an old lady who lived in the back, when you went in the shop a bell would ding on the door and she come through from whatever she was doing in the back. There were jars of sweets all round on shelves and she would weigh out 2 oz of your favourite sweets into a little triangular paper bag. On the main road was a chip shop which again was run by a man and wife who lived on the premises. Further along was a coop supermarket, my mum used to go and choose her shopping and a boy would deliver it on a bike with a basket on the front. There was a greengrocers which sold fresh fruit and veg including the most delicious peas in pods when they were in season, I used to love shelling the peas into a basin and pinching the odd one now and then, they were lovely and sweet. There was a shoe shop not far away where my mum bought our shoes and paid so much a week. @Chris off topic but when you mentioned micro machines it reminded me our late son used to collect them as a child, they are still in the loft, we were wanting to give them to his son (our grandson) but sadly we don’t see him now and have very little contact.

@Chris my grandson Fred can play Seven Nation Army, he is having lessons from someone in West Bridgford and is getting quite good. It’s a shame he’s not into football I don’t get the chance to bond with him as much as I do with Chloe. It’s Chloe’s birthday coming up so me and Mrs. T popped to the ground today to get her an away shirt which Chloe prefers. Mrs. T also persuaded me to buy myself a shirt, I got a home shirt, it’s the first I’ve bought for years. So that’s £100 gone just like that, I hope Chloe likes it. We had lunch in the TBI and a nice walk along the river too, I think Mrs T was hoping to see the naked man on the barge I’d seen on Saturday but the barge was locked up and no sign of the man naked or otherwise. 😂

The vote was very close in the end, I agree with those posters who said that Palmer doesn’t get the credit he deserves both Matt’s did well but I think Dennis just shaded it. Congratulations to both players.

Thanks @theAnticlough Yes it’s a routine procedure these days with lasers I think, in any case the optician said it would probably be a few years yet.

I’ve got to have new varifocals, that’ll cost an arm and a leg then. I can’t complain really I’ve had these I’ve got now for five years. I’ve also got slow growing cataracts apparently which might need to be dealt with in the future.

I enjoyed the game but obviously disappointed we let in a late equaliser. I thought there was plenty of endeavour and passion and I do believe performances are improving we need to be patient, if we can get another couple of players and get the injuries back we might have a decent season. Fingers crossed.
