  1. i am pleased, not just for the win but ian burchnall who came under unfair fire imo. the football has largely been better and i can only see it improving over time, kyle camerons return to action looks to have settled things down. playing in the opponents half and winning the ball back quickly will always help, it was a good result against yeovil.
  2. notts needs to have a stronger mindset and better focus, we cant allow these types of things to constantly turn games. its just poor control of the dying moments of games.
  3. i think notts will bounce back but i think it will be after this, i can see yeovil leading and notts pulling it back. a better performance and good game but not quite the win we need.
  4. halifax are where ideally i would like notts to be, its going to be a big game because a point pushes notts back a bit more. a defeat will see us fall and only a win would really help the situation we are in right now. by situation, i mean having lost 2 games in a row. i think if everyone works hard enough, notts should be fine.
  5. i fear playing chicksen and brindley as cbs against woking, they drift out wide and forget to cover at key stages in the game. i do feel more confident about playing at home, i think that does help and if the fans make the atmosphere good, it should lift the game. i agree that o brien deserves a start, but i cant see ruben being rested.
  6. i think we are only seeing the start of something special, once we hit or true potential, i think the form will only build. turning some of these away games into wins would help massively, but i am impressed so far. starting a season off well, its something we have needed for awhile really. kyle wootton could hit 20+ goals by himself if he continues, he might even get his first hattrick. to say some was worried and panicked about where the goals would come from, i think we have proved already we have goals. its cutting out the ones we concede that will eventually stop.
  7. i thought it was a good win but the performance was testing at times, notts just lacked that spark or cutting edge that we have seen. yet the clean sheet for me is a big bonus. with camerons injury i think it shows we can be tighter at the back.
  8. why do i feel like this has a draw all over it? there is nothing wrong with drawing away from home, as i do think the majority of our points will come from making meadow lane a fortress. i just think its a good chance to improve our away form, but i can see it ending 1-1. think some of the players need a rest, like roberts.
  9. i like that hes 21, not too young but at the right age where he can come here and do a job for us. he will be wanting to play and gain experience, so i think its a great move by notts.
  10. i am wanting to see notts retain a clean sheet, even if its just in the first 45 minutes. this will breathe confidence in the back and take some of the stress of the creativity, the players should be able to express themselves a little more.
  11. i hope we hammer weymouth, they are a poor team that are there for us to defeat if we play well enough. they started off ok, but their last two games have shown that they are a poor team. i think they will struggle, so i hope chances come and our lads work them into making mistakes which will provide us with goals.
  12. these are the types of games that notts cant afford to lose or draw against, if we are going to build any momentum to carry us forward a win is a must. i think ib is right that aldershot will be wanting to improve. hes got a respectful approach to the opposition but i think if we cause them headaches goals will come.
  13. its a good point, i dont think the blame falls solely on slocombe but the defence too. i know hes a good keeper and things will improve, not sure if people are obsessed with brooks or just pointing the finger but nobody can single him out. notts played a completive game and gave a good account of themselves.
  14. will they want to make us pay for signing several of their players? its already a bit of a grudge match for both teams. i can see a desperate draw at 2-2, torquay scoring late on from a set piece.
  15. part of why i support notts, its always felt local and community based.
  16. he has potential, notts and ian burchnall does need to find a way to bring his game to where we can make the most of his ability. i do think lewis knight will do well this season.
  17. looks like a strong signing especially for the future, he could be the long term replacement for michael doyle.
  18. and the tories have been banging on about putting the uk first with brexit and covid.
  19. he could be a big part of the clubs future if he keeps level headed, focused and always determined to improve. i think the fact he wants to go out on loan signals his desire to learn further.
  20. spot on mate. at least hes taken the time to focus on his fitness, hope the op went well. time will tell.
  21. the start of more positive news ???????? rawlinson and cameron should make a great partnership at the back. having slocombe calmness behind looks very promising on paper.
  22. its a big game, pressure will be on both teams and i think whoever gets the edge of the game early on should come out on top.
  23. we need to stay grounded and focused, more importantly the nerves needs to be avoided because it got to us in the final last season. i think we just need to work a bit harder and tidy things up at the back.
  24. i thought i had commented on this on the way home, it felt like a true performance by notts and one which sent a message that we wanted to secure the playoffs. the hard work has not finished but what a fantastic team performance. i thought miller was class, he got stuck in and made a right nuisance of himself but i do think rodders made the biggest impact. hes keen to keeping his scoring going.
  25. it happens, sometimes you have to cut people a bit of slack. as obvious as it was, hes still by far one of the most hardworking players we have.
