  1. 2nd from last home game, season is building to the playoff stages. its good that we have secured the sitting out the first wave of playoff games. i think its important that notts uses the remaining games to repick up the form after the wrexham defeat. we need to lift the confidence and just prepare to seeout the rest of the games as an undefeated team.
  2. we need to keep any negativity, that isnt something well explained to a minimum. like the fan who called scott a 'coward' and that a '5 year old would have score the penalty'. aside from that most fans know how important this season is and some will go beyond expectations to ensure that we stay grounded as a fan base. its time for fans to stop worrying about results, and for luke williams to ease the pressure of the final 3 games. regaining some type of form and confidence leading into the playoffs would help the club in the long run.
  3. its a bigger issue than losing wootton last season, we replaced him we'll and whilst its unlikely we will find anyone as good or better. we should still manage to retain scott and i feel he would thrive as the regular striker. i do hope we get to see langstaff have another season but we cant rule out a team offering silly money for him.
  4. i struggled to get past his first opinion that bostock should have been replaced with jones. a winger for a central midfielder, i know jones has played in the middle for coventry but hes by far better out wide. having him start would have left little at the back and added an imbalance as he would most likely try to do what rodrigues trues. i agree with fans from the match discussion here, baldwin would have made a significant difference if he was able to play.
  5. i think most of it we fans wont see or begin to imagine what legacy he leaves behind but that dont mean we should not be thankful. its always the people in jobs, which require a lot of effort but are behind the scenes that often does go unnoticed. one big benefit, is the years he spent with the reedtz and shown them the ropes. i am sure they learned plenty which will be carried forward.
  6. i dont think it changes anything but fans calling scott need to stop, its embarrassing. it takes guts to step up in a big game and to take a penalty in the circumstances. i dont understand why people have to be so pathetic over it. forster is clearly off the line but aside from it being revealed theres little else to be said or done.
  7. i dont know, it seems a thing that has been hyped with all the movie crossovers. like marvel and dc, besides how likely is it that evidence will ever be found? it just seems unlikely to me.
  8. i hate when things like this are leaked, it makes you wonder who would do it because nobody benefits. it just makes countries like russia, china and north korea more paranoid. its just a stupid thing to do, which if something like this is done, better protection of keeping it restricted should be prioritised.
  9. @DangerousSausage, i thought slocombe did not quite look his usual self. i dont blame him for any of the goals, but i think if he was 100% some of those he would have done better with. i mean he pulled two vital saves which looked certain goals and he was let down by the back three defenders, wing backs too. he just seems like he may need a bit longer to be himself. jones and austin needs to be starting more games full stop. nemane is a good player, but defensively hes one of the weakest players. chicksen does not really have anyone to challenge or allow him to rest, what with taylor leaving.
  10. i thought he would be with a league two team, it seems the scottish leagues are trying to fish out lower good performers in the hope that they come good.
  11. its not just bajrami, the back 3 had no awareness together. cameron plays to far up, the wing back did not protect them enough. bajrami was bad, but so was rawlinson. i dont think those 3 work together, baldwin has more pace and is more switched one. very disconnected at the back, but its things to learn from isn't it? now is the time to work on those in order to improve in time for the playoffs.
  12. john bostocks free kick is the type of goal you hope would win games, i thought wrexham did better in the first half. a lot of iffy antics but both teams played well. as i said in the match discussion, i dont personally blame the officials i thought they did quite well. unfortunately notts just was not good enough on the day. its what it is, but we have had a good season and need to use this to push on through the playoffs.
  13. i refuse to join to read it, but from snippets i have seen on social media its a very highly praising piece on notts.
  14. it was a very entertaining game in the end, especially in the second half. i thought they did better in the first 45 minutes, they looked dangerous and we rode our luck at times. i want to say, i think the officials made very good calls throughout the game. the referee was aware of mullins antics, the assistants made the right call with each of the offsides. its unlucky for us, that baj had a nightmare of a game. him being shoved to the ground, it was a foul but the way he went down seemed very easy, his back flick was a huge blunder which is unlike him but i dont fault the calls. its hard not to give the benefit of the doubt to a striker under those circumstances, its the same as the decision in our favour when mullin dived due to cameron slightly touching him. i feel very sorry for scott that he missed the penalty, i disagree that it was bad. ben foster did well to save it, the ball was hit with power and a good placement. foster has always been decent at saving penalties. i dont blame the miss and although i think defensively notts should have done better. i am proud of the squad. i honestly feel we missed baldwin in the back.
  15. i thought he was the type of player that needed a honest manager, that would motivate him but also call him out. he had some great games for notts but did come across as a bit lazy at times. i dont question his ability, but his hunger and attitude to be successful. i am surprised hes playing for a welsh club though.
  16. not just a tactical genius but a mastermind of mind games! luke williams is a very calm and coy manager. you have to love and respect his style.
  17. i hope he continues to get game time, since hes come back vincent has done well when played and deserved his goal yesterday. the team did jason turner proud, going back top of the league was just the icing on the cake. it was a great day!
  18. pressure is on both teams and with it being on tv, i would be lying if i was not nervous. i hope the notts fans that manage to go, go in good spirit and enjoy the game. it was be incredible to hear the notts chants at wrexham's ground out performing the home team. that would help the nerves and the players. i dont the players will be too phased by the occasion, they just need to keep focus and do what they do best.
  19. Birmingham City 1-1 Stoke City Coventry City 0-2 Watford Fleetwood Town 1-0 Bristol Rovers Port Vale 2-1 Oxford United Colchester United 0-0 Crewe Alexandra Tranmere Rovers 2-1 Swindon Town Bromley 0-2 Boreham Wood Wealdstone 0-3 Solihull Moors joker
  20. during the game i did not notice langstaff make the quick glance to see if he was onside, i thought he just ran and calmly placed it. he was unlucky not to get the effort that hit the post. i thought austin getting the first was well deserved for all he has done.
  21. i think they buckled on the occasion and just struggled with how quickly notts would press. on the ball we made it very difficult for them to move it or get it forward without lumping it forward. every time they seemed to smash the ball away, it seemed to go to one of our players and the pressure would just come back. i think the first mistake they made was switching which way we attacked, i think they would have a better 45 minutes if they had the family stand behind them instead of the kop. that said notts were just determined to get the result and i think langstaff deserved a brace. his effort that hit the post, i thought that had gone in. it was a very good home win which sets up monday against wrexham nicely.
  22. incredibly touching game and well deserved win for notts, i think wrexham dropping points and us going top on goal difference was a remarkable part of the game. the chants from the kop was encouraging and it felt a lot more special. i think jason turner and @GrannyPie would be proud of the lads. as will every other fan who has sadly passed away during 2023.
  23. i dont think we can, as teams can spring a surprise or just perform better than us but i think we are in good form right now. fingers crossed we can get those points.
  24. i would not expect anything different from luke williams, he needs to focus on what he can control and not what is out of his hands. bt sports will always have the say on kick off times of the matches they cover, its frustrating for fans but we have to get on with it. we have had a good amount of coverage this season so at least the money is a boost.
  25. i dont think they will throw much at us, i know some think they have things to play for but really i doubt they will secure a playoff space. i dont want to talk them down to much, but there is a reason why we did so well against them at their ground, i think our confidence is growing again and a good performance would unite the belief that this season is ours for gaining promotion. automatic promotion may not be likely but i am confident about the playoffs. games like this must become routine for us to finish with a win.
