The game has so much unnecessary pressure leading into it, but it should ease once the game begins. Notts needs to get a feel of what Stockport has about themselves, it's live on TV and that's another blessing in my eyes.
Neal Ardley knows a result would push Notts back up the table, the players understand what is required.
It's just getting it out of them.
At the moment, I don't think Stockport will batter us by any stretch of the imagine. I feel it's more closer to being a draw and, I am swaying towards 2-2.

Disappointing but no real surprise, I still think Notts could have won them had the game not be postponed. More time for training now!

I don't mean like teams Notts are playing away, I mean like other Non League and Football League teams. I have been watching some of Derby County's games, along with Walsall.

I listened on the radio. They often spoke about the players slipping over - Mark Stallard mentioned that the players would have been out on the pitch before kick-off and would have had the chance to get a feel for it. So why were they slipping about as if they were on an ice rink? Lack of preparation (born of complacency) perhaps? Not very professional at all. Being The Best Team In The Division won't help if you let your standards drop.
@Chris despite all the adversity, last season we finished third and came within 90 minutes of going straight back up. Despite our much better circumstances, our summer transfer business seems to have actually weakened the squad. It's still early days and 9 points from 6 games isn't a disaster, but if we end up going backwards I can fully understand the frustration. We don't have a divine right to success, but we have good (and rich) owners, an established management team and a dressing room that fully buys into its ideas, and financially we can blow everyone in this division out of the water with the sole, possible, exception of Stockport. Everything is in place for success. The bar was always going to be set high, and justifiably so.

I don't know why so many of the players struggled to stay on their feet, maybe the pitch but it was just a poor display. Notts never set the pace, I am not sure why its all Ardley's fault because the players should've done better yesterday regardless of the tactics.
The players just never looked like creating a good chance on goal.

If Notts managed to win playing that poor, I would be surprised. Teams that start slow, are always second best are never going to get that break to score or lead in a game. I think too many are overlooking the players who are responsible when they cross onto the field.
Nobody had a great game for Notts, Roberts and Rawlinson are two big misses as mentioned.
When 10 players are poor, its always going to be a task to demand more and from there the game will get harder.

The only player that looked above average today... and Ardley had him at Wimbledon

Slocombe 5 - Didn't have much to do. Kept slipping over
Brindley 4 - Inconsistent when deciding on whether to join the attack or not
Graham 4 - Started well and then became sloppy with his distribution
Lacey 4 - What has happened to this guy? Monsters from space jam have drained the talent out of him. Constantly falling over and had a disaster for the goal
Chicksen 3 - Crossing was poor as was his all round game
O'Brien 4 - Some ok passes but was apart of a midfield that didn't take control
Doyle 4 - Was decent early on but his control on the game slipped away from him as the game went on
Reeves 4 - Poor in possession and too many sideways passes
Rodrigues 4 - Another who started well and showed glimpses but his contribution waned
Wootton 3 - Couldn't keep control of the ball, gave away too many fouls and missed a glaring opportunity
Thomas 4 - Lively at times but lacking end product
Boldewijn 3 - Still waiting for him to come on
Sam 3 - Should've scored. Not sure why we signed him
Turner 4 - Only player playing a forward pass by the 90th minute. Hard to rate a defensive substitute
