As a Sheffield Wednesday fan, I’m curious to know how confident Notts County supporters are feeling about their club gaining back-to-back promotions. With a strong squad on paper and the addition of Will Randall, it seems like your club is in a great position. Are you all still feeling the magic from Wembley?

According to the latest rumours Nemane is going to either Portsmouth or Cardiff and Cameron is going to Stockport.
Anyone else a bit worried by the lack of news regarding new contracts being signed, I sincerely hope we don’t see most of the side being lured away, I believe we have a real chance of back to back promotions if we keep most of our core players.

Hi there Magpie fans,
I just wanted to stop by and send my best wishes for your efforts to return to the Football League. Given your impressive form this season, I don’t believe Notts should miss out on promotion. I’m hoping you’ll be able to make that long-awaited return.
As a fan of Wednesday, I have many fond memories of Meadow Lane and Notts County. I hope you all succeed in gaining promotion to League Two. By the way, Macaulay Langstaff seems like an excellent striker.
Wishing Notts all the best for their game against Boreham Wood on Sunday!

There seems to be a lot of talk about David McGoldrick returning to end his career at Notts. Some folk swear blind that it's a done deal. What do you all think?
Personally I'm not sure at all, he just doesn't fit our recruitment strategy and would surely be in demand in League One at least. The bloke was playing and scoring in the Premier League two years ago and just scored 22 times for Derby, so he still has it.
I'm not sure what effect it would have to have a "star" in the dressing room, but then Ameobi was a similar case and did well for us. But now we have Langstaff - who would play? Would we change the formation to accommodate him? Or is he the replacement?
Thoughts?

From the Notts website:
“We have completed the signing of wide player Will Randall on a two-year contract following his departure from Sutton United.
The 26-year-old has been one of the Londoners’ top performers since joining them in 2019, playing a key role in their promotion from the National League and helping them establish themselves in the EFL.
A statement from our board of directors reads: “Will is a player we tried to sign earlier this year, so we’re delighted to eventually bring him to Meadow Lane.
“He’s direct, an excellent set-piece taker and a goal threat who is comfortable on both flanks, while also having the qualities to cover the number-eight role.
“Importantly, Will is also very disciplined out of possession and is a great character who we think will add a lot to the squad.
“He’s known to Luke Williams and Ryan Harley from their time together at Swindon, so we’re very confident he’ll be a brilliant addition.”
It was at Swindon that Randall began his career, graduating from his hometown club’s academy and making several appearances for them in League One.
His potential was clear to see and, after rejecting a bid from AFC Bournemouth, Swindon sold the 18-year-old to Wolves in 2016.
He would go on to sign an extended contract at Molineux, playing for their development squads and picking up more experience with loans at Walsall, Forest Green Rovers and Spanish side FC Jumilla.
After leaving Wolves, he had a short spell with Newport County before joining Sutton ahead of the 2019-20 campaign.”
Replacement for Nemane?

Who’s going to watch this one?
I’ll be rooting for Sheffield Wednesday as I have a friend who’s a big Owls fan and I know how much it means to him to get back to the Championship.
Come on you Owls.

New contract: Slocombe
Experienced keeper extends stay
Sam Slocombe has become the second out-of-contract player to commit his future to us.
The 34-year-old goalkeeper has signed a new two-year deal, following in the footsteps of fellow long-serving Magpie Connell Rawlinson.
And both Luke Williams and our board of directors look forward to welcoming him back to Meadow Lane in pre-season.
A statement reads: “Sam, like Connell, is such a valuable asset to us on and off the field.
“He’s an immensely experienced goalkeeper who has demonstrated his quality and consistency over his four years at the club.
“The role Sam played in last season’s promotion cannot be underestimated. He was a vital component in our team and many of the outstanding performances we produced would not have been possible without him.
“Equally importantly, he’s one of the best professionals you could ever wish to have in your squad. The way he conducts himself day in, day out is exemplary and we see him as the perfect role model for our younger players.
“We’ve enjoyed open and constructive dialogue with Sam over the summer to explain our intention to bring in a new, senior goalkeeper to work alongside him and Tiernan Brooks.
“We see this as an important element of our long-term squad development and Sam fully understands our position.
“We know he will continue to drive high standards from those around him and provide extremely tough competition for a place in our starting line-up.”

What have folk got planned for the weekend anything exciting happening in your life?
I am doing a 5k Park Run with my son and his friend, then we are going to support my daughter in law who is doing a run then a wild water swim at Colwick, I think it’s called a biathlon or something, rather her than me.
Sunday we are doing a BBQ weather permitting, hopefully it’ll be fine all weekend.

Hopefully this isn’t a controversial subject but here goes.
I never watch Good Morning Britain and have absolutely no interest whatsoever what Philip Schofield has or has not been up to, does anyone else think the papers (gutter press) are hounding the poor bloke? Surely his private life should be that…..private.
Leave him alone for goodness sake otherwise it could have tragic consequences, god forbid he finds it too much and takes his own life but it’s happened to celebrities in the public eye before and can happen again.

Notts County are the oldest professional football club in the world, but they are also one of the smallest in terms of fan base. The Magpies have struggled to compete with bigger and more successful clubs in the region, such as Nottingham Forest and Derby County, and have seen their attendances decline over the years. They have also failed to appeal to younger generations, who may prefer to follow Premier League or European teams instead.
In this forum post, we want to discuss how Notts County can attract more young fans and grow their fan base. What can the club do to make themselves more relevant and attractive to the youth? How can they increase their exposure and reach in the media and online? How can they foster a sense of loyalty and identity among their fans? What are some initiatives or campaigns that Notts County can launch to attract more young fans?
Share your ideas and suggestions with us and let’s help Notts County grow.
