Slocombe 4 Seeing several posts on Social Media not entirely blaming Slocombe. The fact remains he could have cleared the ball with his left boot but allowed the ball to run across him and was charged down into the net. If we are serious about promotion, this cannot continue

Brindley 6 Always looking assured

Rawlinson 4.5 Defensively sound but ball at feet, nightmares ensue.

Cameron 5 Still prone to one bad pass but has the ability to move forward with ease

Chicksen 6.5 A successful afternoon down his wing...using his ability to beat Woking's last man

Nemane 5 Thought he had a quiet game

Palmer 5.5 Some really poor corners

Bajamri 8 Man of the Match. Some great tackles, an assured performance

Ruben 7.5 Ridiculous booking by the ref early on. Neatly taken penalty. Volleyed pass to Chicksen a thing of beauty

Scott 7.5 Showing the position and finishing of Langstaff

Langstaff 7 Not at his best but beautifully fed Scott for a goal

Subs

Mitchell 3.5 Another penalty given away. Liability in defence

Austin 7.5 Looks quality when he comes on

Game 13 - Red Dragons (H)

Team: Wrexham

Date: 04/10/2022

Where: Meadow Lane

What line-up should Luke Williams opt for? What will be the key areas for the Magpies to get a victory? What do you think the final score will be?

    I wasn't impressed with Wrexham.

They started well and made use of our high press, with an early chance that could've easily turned the game in their favour. Despite all their money spent, they still struggle with finishing, which bemused me slightly.

Mullin actually seemed quite pacey for such a lanky presence.

Notts grew into the game I felt and, I actually predicted the result. I wished in hindsight I said to the lads that Langstaff would score, but I did feel it would be someone else. Mostly due to the belief that Wrexham would make our key players heavily, but again they failed to deceive.

We could've easily scored more with the chances created, whilst their only real opportunity fell early in the first half.

Parkinson's comments about them deserving a draw at the very least is the typical talk a losing manager with high expectations says. In truth, they deserved nothing and all the talk about understanding how we play, it only looked like they did at times and those where very few between.

What a fantastic evening and result, I'm jealous of everyone who was there! And what a superb crowd for a night match too - you could tell clearly on the radio that it was absolutely buzzing, it sounded more like a cup game. Now we need to carry this on at Woking.

That is all.

Cameron 5 Equally guilty of a sloppy pass that could have cost a goal

Chicksen 7.5 Another goal

Castro 6.5 Another stupendous free kick, hitting the bar from 35 yards

  • You’re going to lose games over a course of the season, the thing that’s needed in this league if you’re going to do well is a positive reaction and we got it.

Probable goal of the season from Castro, unbelievable strike. And what more can you say about Macca, he’s going to get 20 goals before Christmas at this rate.

But the third goal shows what this team is all about. We seem a lot more determined and relentless off the ball this season. Not giving the opposition time, winning the ball back quickly and high up in dangerous positions. Defenders hate it and we’ve seen it enough times the past few seasons how a high press caused us problems. Now we’re the ones causing the problems!

These matches kick off at 7.45pm on Tuesday 13 September. You have one joker each - good luck!

Blackburn Rovers v Watford

Middlesbrough v Cardiff City

Barnsley v Port Vale

Wycombe Wanderers v Accrington Stanley

Barrow v Doncaster Rovers
