  1. .... because we haven't paid for the new training kit.

This is starting to smell more and more like admin is around the corner.

In fact, it stinks. I am now thinking admin is the most likely outcome of this whole sorry saga.

  2. Is it something to do with the Waterside development or is it the amount of debts?

It's been over 2 months now since Hardy accepted an offer?

I accept things take time but this has gone on too long now

What do we think? Debts? Riverside development area? Anything else?

  3. Apparently leaving at the end of the month , good luck to him , not a shock really maybe the beginning of an exodus .

  4. Here's the definition provided by Urban Dictionary.

    Fair Weather Fan

A fan of a sports team who only shows support when the team is doing well. During hard times they usually bandwagon other teams. They basically have no real loyalty to the team, but still manage to get better seats than you at the game. Strangely they mysteriously vanish at the first sign of trouble.

  5. Seems Kristian Dennis is already weighing up his future with Notts County for next season weather he will or want to play non league football or Notts are deciding weather to cash in on his value only time will tell if he will stay at notts.

Do you think we need him to stay at meadow lane.?

  6. Football isn't supposed to be like this, however the last three era's have been nothing but a circus. The Munto year, despite people often moaning about most will look back and wonder how the club actually managed to survive despite all the unknowns. The players must have been playing for each other, as some didn't get paid and that speaks volumes for the likes of Kasper Schmeichel.

Since the mid 90's, it's all been down hill for my generation but despite that the club always felt like we would be okay.

Yes in the 00's there was times where the club's existence came into question, yet the fans and former players rallied together and that made a difference. I find myself just wanting an owner who can keep a low profile, someone who can look at the long term future without quoting to please some fans that there's a 5-year-plan.

Notts County Football Club shouldn't be a media circus, however, it's what it is.

As a fan, I firmly stand behind ensuring the club has a future. People are different, some won't and others have valid reasons. I'm keen to understand where most stand with the situation, what they hope and think about the current situation. I don't think for a second that the club will be allowed to die, I just hope a good buyer can come in and build slowly.

  7. The talk over on the Facebook page is of a protest about the current state of the club. An open WhatsApp group has been set up to discuss the details, so maybe we'll see something concrete over the coming days.

While it helps to have a specific demand during a protest, a demonstration of feeling surely wouldn't be a bad thing. Maybe something creative like a wheelbarrow march? Let's face it, us fans have been silent for too long and it's about time we made our voices heard. Also, if the worst happens (heaven forbid) we're going to have to pull together to get the club up and running again in some form. So getting organised isn't such a bad thing.

What do you think? Are any of you going?

  8. From BBC Sport (full interview here)

Former Northern Ireland goalkeeper Roy Carroll has revealed he feared he was going to "end up dying" at the height of his battle with alcoholism.

The ex-Manchester United stopper opened up about the problems he faced as he drank heavily to deal with depression.

Speaking on Radio Ulster's Summer Club, the 41-year-old recalled the moment he realised he needed to address his excessive drinking.

"The drink had taken over my life, I didn't care about anybody," he said.

"Things were piling up and all I was worried about was when my next drink would be. I'd lost my wife and kids because I had to move out of the family home.

"About two or three years later [in 2011, after a spell in Denmark with Odense BK] I just woke up one morning in an apartment and said 'what am I doing, I'm going to end up dying here'.

"So I went into a hotel and stayed off the drink. Mentally I was strong enough to look after myself and get out of it.

"I got a call from a Greek agent asking me to go to Greece and I went back to my wife, who found out I had been off the drink for a couple of months.

"We went to Greece for a week, signed a contract for OFI Crete and I haven't looked back since."

Very candid interview, he's been clean for eight years now after falling into it following a long-term injury earlier in his career, and he wants to help others who may be going through similar struggles as what he went through.

  9. Fans can argue with me as much as they like, 2009-2010 was the season that could have fuelled changes for this club. A football team that had been stuck in the mud since the last time it was relegated from what was the third division of the Football League. It was an amazing season, one which saw the club ride the wave of the fictional owner and despite the money not actually being there the club was crowned champions.

A lot of people have been pointing the finger at Alan Hardy for it all, that seems to be the easiest route to blame.

The club has been in turmoil for many seasons, however the Trews had the chance to bring happier times. As much as AH has failed, why are people not accepting that they have a portion of the blame for sending the club back down to League Two.

My point is, lessons hasn't be learnt. Why is that?

  10. Do you think most signings will be loans?

I have this feeling that the majority of signings will be made on loan, this wouldn't be a bad thing but it depends on the quality that comes in. I do really believe that the club will be desperate and should stay clear of signing free agents for the sake of it.

  11. 7-10 days? Nope

    Sale imminent? Nope

We're still trying to negotiate with a group involving a convicted fraudster. Thank goodness the NCC are on our side

We've got just over 50 days till the season starts and under 30 days till the court hearing.

We've got 16 players. 1 centre-back. Club is on it's knees. Utter silence

  12. As quoted by the Nottingham Post:

“Under current rules, fans have no means of redressing their grievances.

“Fans such as those of Blackpool or Coventry or Bolton Wanderers have been treated abysmally, with their owners at fault. There has to be a mechanism to provide fans with an outlet to redress their grievances because at the moment they have nowhere to go.

“I am aware that the majority of football club owners are committed and passionate about their clubs. They recognise that fans are the pulse that keeps football clubs alive. However, too many clubs are being driven to the ground with no mechanism in place for fans to flag up misconduct.

“The Football Supporters Association’ have highlighted that this is not an isolated issue, it is happening across the country. Dedicated fans watch helplessly as their treasured clubs crumble from lack of investment or financial exploitation by dodgy owners.”

  13. So here are some key dates for diary as we prepare for next season In the national league. The dates include the all important fixture release date and the first game of the new season among others dates.

  14. If we can't pay £195 then this is getting seriously worrying

  15. Respecting confidences be it legal or other contractual things which cannot be touched...if you would like to submit questions, I will try to ask....... GO

  16. Leyton Orient manager Justin Edinburgh has died, only 49-years-old. How saddening to learn!

He was a firm fixture in the Tottenham Hotspur defence when I was a kid, he seemed to be a proper football man too and well respected. Such a loss to the footballing world.

    Rest in Peace Justin Edinburgh.

  17. So the speculation about Kion Etete future has been settled as he has officially left for premiership side Spurs. Now we have heard rumblings that he is since about February maybe March he is leaving to sign a development contract with spurs. With the financial situation at Meadow lane what it is I’m not shocked they have cashed in on Kion and sold him but why not getting him back On a loan deal. To me it seems that the money rather than building for next season or looking to youth has taken over Kion didn’t start the first team under the current boss Neal Ardley and Harry Kewell but in reserves and youth game Kion has been scorning and playing well.

I wish him all the best with his future he is a good player and with the support he will flourish.

  18. i have not seen her log in for ages, her name does not appear on the who has been online feature. one account has not been on since 2018 and the other @LozCloughSLO was jan 15. 😔

do you know @Chris, i thought she posted some interesting bits and started some good discussions.

shame really, i was hoping to see those updates on the slo role and im curious about that mp meeting.

  19. So I normally ask any positives but right now I can’t find any after the 2-1 defeat to Macclesfield  so my question is where do we go from here ?

  20. In all my years I haven’t seen the club I have followed all my life in such a state. It’s disappointing that despite the takeover supposedly close to being concluded that the club seems to be lacking any forward thinking. There’s rumours that Hardy has issues now keeping Ilkeston Town a float. What happened to this nonsense about the club making plans despite the takeover not being completed? If the South Africans are interested, at this stage Hardy needs to make sure he’s doing all he can to get it a cross the line.

The squad should be progressing, fans wanting to put the terrible previous season behind them. The circus continues and if I had the chance to give any one at the club a piece of my mind I would.

  21. Anyone wanting to go to our first pre season game away at Nuneaton 6th July  here’s the ticket price list for that game.
