Thought we gave a good account of ourselves. Palmer and Francis look like an excellent central midfield pairing. The best I've felt about our midfield for a while. Francis has a great left foot and a good pass on him, whilst Palmer has such good intelligence when in possession and out of it. He knows when to press and when not to, when to bring the ball forward and make the clinical pass. Superb piece of business.

Taylor looks strong. Had a good battle against his opposite number who seemed to be equal with him for pace. Got into some good attacking positions and linked up well with Cameron and Francis. Cameron looked comfortable on the ball and a threat in the air. With Nemane, it's about getting game time into his legs and getting him minutes because, he's a bit behind the other players in terms of preparation.

Created good opportunities with plenty of slick passing. Encouraging signs all over. Still need a striker but IB said that one looks like it's virtually wrapped up now, in his post match interview.

Pity we conceded a late goal though couldnt see what happened as it was on the opposite side of the pitch

Goals from Winter, Wootton and Sam ( who has the ability to hit a Hasselbaink powered shot)

Knight pulled up in 1st half...hope he will be OK

Tiernan has stepped us in the friendlies and is looking class

Ian Burchnall has strengthened every area of the pitch, except up front and in goal.

I know he's said that Tiernan Brooks will be the 2nd choice goalkeeper during this campaign, fans have speculated on Twitter how the number 7 shirt hasn't been assigned and the Post has claimed that Notts are preparing for a key signing.

Notts on paper looks strong in every department, but up top could be improved with the right investment.

Could this be a striker that we all want?

I found this an intriguing read. We really are going into every little detail possible to help us improve further.

There are five teams that seem to be fancied for promotion, those being us, Wrexham, Southend, Chestefield, and Grimsby.

Wrexham I think will be the favourites but I could see them struggling at first.

I expect Chesterfield to be a stronger outfit, they have turned a corner and should do well IMO.

What are your thoughts on the promotion contenders for this season?

Very intriguing this. Looks like we are looking even further into key match details and how we can get better in every part of the pitch. Even the smaller, finer details

26yo, 200+ EFL appearances over Champ, L1 and L2. Gone off the boil a bit recently, but that is still a cracking signing for us and brings the experience needed in the middle of the park.

Quigley has signed for Stockport from Barrow. Managed 15 goals in a poor Barrow side last season in L2. Stockport now have Rooney, Reid, Madden and Quigley. That's a team with goals from anywhere.

Holding Midfielder. Young (21). Left-footed. Not 5 foot 2. Takes set-pieces. 20 games in L2 (albeit out of position).

I've been wanting to write this for a while but I thought I'd wait till the end of the Euros to write it.

If you were thinking of buying a shirt this season (or already have!) which would you go for Myself and Chris are at opposite ends of the scale so need your help...so interested in peoples colour choices more than anything else...

(I've picked up my green shirt today and love it, but @Chris not a fan.)

Lewis Knight played as an out-to-out striker for Bradford Park Avenue but is able to play on the wide as an attacking forward. With his pace, I could see Ian Burchnall choosing to play him in the Enzio type role - encouraging him to cut inside. However, I feel he would be better playing up top and I think this is where he would be more useful.

We've only seen him a handful of times, the performances from the team wasn't the best but I actually rate the lad.

He moves around the pitch well, looks for pockets of space and with his speed - he'll naturally attract players to mark him. If Notts gives him more game time, I fully believe he will start to find confidence and in the process start finding the back of the net.

How do you view Lewis Knight's role for the upcoming season?

Cameron

Taylor

Francis

Palmer

Nemane

Therefore suggests 2 more signings, maybe from the trialists with us at the moment

Thinking out loud, I wouldnt be surprised if Sam's agent has been told to look for a new club and Lewis Knight to be loaned out, at least til Christmas
