Will Notts be able to sign Kyle Wootton permanently?

There's talk that the club is trying, I don't believe in rumours without a credible source but this does need to be looked into.

So it's time for yet another prediction league round. Those crystal balls are probably getting a bit worn out by now!

The fixture list is a bit thinned out due to the FA Cup, so there are no Championship fixtures and only one in League One. But the rules are the same, and you have one joker each. Kick-off is Saturday at 3pm!

Sunderland v Lincoln City

Salford City v Walsall

Swindon Town v Bradford City

Mansfield Town v Grimsby Town

Barnet v Halifax Town

Stockport County v Boreham Wood

Wrexham v Aldershot

Yeovil Town v Solihull Moors

Based on a mean of 5.5

Slocombe 6.5 Nothing he could do with the goal conceded. Tries to dominate his area

Brindley 5 Closed down too much, when passed into cul de sacs. Defensively did his job

Rawlinson 7.5 Nominated for MotM at 1625h...before he actually scored.

Lacey 7 Looks like Dean Yates with confidence of taking the ball out. Good positioning to cope with aerial threats

McCrory 6 Not much in the forward sense, solid defence

Rose 5 Too static at times, lost the second ball battles

Doyle 5 Tried to create triangles but ineffective

Boldewijn 4 Was he marked out or just couldnt get into the game. At least can deliver a corner

Osborne 7 Only real creative spark , beautifully set up the first.. always looking to get a shot in

Wootton 6.5 Not much change from the Bromley defence but service from Notts midfield made life difficult

Thomas 6 Took the goal well , again lacking midfield service

What line-up should Neal Ardley opt for? What will be the key areas for the Magpies to get a victory? What do you think the final score will be?

Have your say below, join in with the Pride of Nottingham match discussion.

The owners seem to have the club in the right position, they've given their backing to Neal Ardley who has been under fire twice this season from certain portions of the fan base. Right now the club sits in the playoffs looking much better form wise.

In a matter of hours an eventful decade will draw to a close, one that saw one promotion almost a decade ago and two relegations. We've seen world class players don the black and white stripes, and Balint Bajner, and trips to Juventus and Solihull.Β

But now is the time to look forward. Where will we be in ten years, on 31 December 2029? Will we have followed in Luton's footsteps, or will we be playing local derbies in Carlton?Β

My guess is League Two. We'll achieve promotion to the League on the third attempt, followed by another promotion a year or two later, a foolish sacking and relegation towards the end of the decade.Β

What do you think?Β

Happy Birthday to my wonderful mum! @GrannyPie

We'll be round to see you shortly, please remind @super_ramΒ that it's Christmas and we have some presents (why he didn't realise this is beyond me). ????

Have a lovely day Granny, feel free to make use of those sticks with the old ram as much as you want. x

????????????

Who can fill Jim O'Brien boots?

With him likely to be out for some time, if not the rest of the season. Who can step forward and take his boots?

I've always had a soft spot for Notts. Maybe it's because you resist the allure of past glories across the Trent. Maybe it's because of the numerous Blades/Notts connections (our current manager for one).

Either way, I've kept an eye on you for years now and was gutted by your relegation. Here's hoping you do a Luton or Lincoln. ????

UTB

I know it's early but would like to wish all Notts fans a happy New Year!

What did everyone get for Christmas?

welcome to pon @Dane Arnold

Slocombe 6 - Commanding when he had to be

Kelly-Evans 6 - Got stuck in when needed and made a good clearance to avoid a certain goalΒ

Rawlinson 8 - Once again, puts his head in where it hurts. Aerial colossus. Could have had a goal if he stuck his toe out

Lacey 7 - So much better with him in defence

McCrory 6 - Got up the line on occasions and got stuck in

Boldewijn 6 - Was doing bits on the left and then was deployed on the right where is impact limited. Had a chance at a shot 2nd half in which he did not shoot

Rose 5 - Too many times lost the second ball and didn't go forward enough. Scrappy game for him

Doyle 6 - Was trying to urge the team on and got involved but like Rose, lost too many second balls

Osborne 5 - Not his day. Did well on the right first 10 but then was switched to the left for no reason and impact limited after that. Subbed earlyΒ

Wootton 7 - Held it up really well as he battled against the Maidenhead defenders

Dennis 6 - Made alright runs first half. Completely missed his header from a free kick. Nothing of note in the second

Β

Tyson 5 - Didn't really do owt in his time on the pitch

Thomas 5 - Not much nof noteΒ

To one and all.

I want to take the opportunity to wish everyone a Merry Christmas!

With the early present of 3 points against AFC Halifax, I think we can put football to the back of our minds and focus on the festive season with our families (until Boxing Day at least).

It's that time of year where spreading love, togetherness and being thankful for what you have - is the most important thing.

I know, I won't be the only fan of Notts County FC that is grateful that we have a football club.

Please take a moment to help spread the festive joy, take count of what we have and come back eager to finish what has been started in 2019.

Who do you think will be next to leave Notts permanently?

I think Tom Crawford might end up being released, I can't see him earning a lot in wages and I think Neal Ardley will now want to strengthen his pack.

A dominant midfield performance from this guy. Perhaps Notts should look to sign, a real Neal Bishop style performance

So here we are, the first prediction league round of a brand new decade. The rules are the same, kick-off is 3pm on Wednesday, and remember your jokers!

Sheffield Wednesday v Hull City

Bristol City v Brentford

Fleetwood Town v Sunderland

Gillingham v Portsmouth

Forest Green Rovers v Exeter City

Oldham Athletic v Scunthorpe United

Boreham Wood v Barnet

Chorley v Wrexham

Accomplished left back with a good League pedigree

Based on a mean of 5.5

Slocombe 7.5Β fantastic save towards the end...Distribution too slow at times, booked for time wasting too.

Kelly EvansΒ  7 surprised to be included given Solihull's aerial game but did not disappoint.. His best position may turn out to be an Alan Judge role

Rawlinson 7 Some good headers won, distribution is a little wayward

Lacey 7.5 Looks a class above

Bakayogo 7 Sound, not much going forward

Doyle 7 Leading the midfield, calm and dictated play

Crawford 4 May seem harsh but was clueless when in space, he seemed to choose the wrong option time and time again

Rose 7.5 Stepping up performances, that block right at the end!

Tyson 6 Match ready?Β

Thomas 7 Calm finish to win the game

Wootton 7.5 Won the key challenge to set up the winner... We need to sign this guy permanently but suspect other EFL clubs are looking
