He's a good keeper. Played over here in Ireland last season. Voted keeper of the year I think. Also won a cup medal.

The St. Patricks fans are riled up about this, they think he’s far too good for us and dropped way below his standard. Not sure how strong they think the League Of Ireland Prem is but on Global Football Rankings League 2 is 33rd and there’s no sign of the LOI Prem.

Still, sounds like he’s very much in the mould of Patto. Let’s see if he’s as good as the St Patrick fans say he is!

And it means Brooks can go out on loan and get game time. His last loan was quite a few leagues below us, hopefully this next loan team is either in the NL N/S or one of the leagues directly below that.

Probably because a university team won the league recently…

The university team is UCD. They have never won the Premier Division. They have won the first division. St. Pats are one of the best sides in the division. They'd be lower half in League 2. The best side, Shamrock Rovers, would hold their own in League 1.

Yep, my mistake! I just glossed over things a bit cos you've got the whole 1st Div and Prem. l should know by now a 1 in the league means nothing in football now. But yeah, having not watched a lot of Irish football I was just trying to see what kind of standard the teams were, so thanks for your info and correction!

The Irish league standard is all over the place, they have some very gifted players but many who are sub par. I would say its closer to League 1 and 2 in terms of standard. The National League is not that much of a drop for a player who needs more game time or experience.

Arriving at a team hopeful of gaining promotion would be a good thing to have on his football CV.
