Charlie has signed a six month contract. I'm sure that suits both parties for now.

Hopefully, Charlie will impress and if Notts are happy with his performances, they will offer him a longer contract.

What a great day it's been. It shows that Notts are looking towards the future & also at the same time they are strengthening the squad in vital areas.

I'm very happy with his acquisition & I'm looking forward to him playing a part in hopefully a successful end to the season for Notts.

Sounds promising, but as always the proof of the pudding is in the eating. We've signed some quality players in this position under our current regime so I'm hopeful.

With Whitaker and Jarvis both playing in Crowley's position, I wonder if there's any truth to the rumours that Crowley is leaving? I hope we hold onto him until the summer at least and have some genuine strength in depth for the run-in.

His stats from his time playing in the Premier 2 or whatever it's called are very impressive. Again, he's clearly technically very good but he's never played proper league football before. I can see it going two ways; he'll get into the first team and just excel like Abbott or he'll be like Patching when we were his first club post academy football and he'll struggle. Finger crossed it's the first way!

I hope the 6-month contract doesn’t come back to haunt us though. If it doesn’t work out it’s ok but then why would you sign someone if you’re so unsure? He’s clearly talented so my worry would be if he does really well, he’ll alert all the clubs above us and will be able to move pretty easily…

I assume the 6 month contract is a form of insurance for both parties to see if he can make the grade and get regular game time for us? He will also be putting himself in the shop window for the summer if he does make an impact, so would hope we may have an option written into the contract to extend.

Looking like Crowley is on his way to MK either tonight or tomorrow, so it would seem he will definitely get some opportunities to play.

he sounds like a good addition but i would hope we can persist with finding him regular game time and stick to the plan if he does not find the net in his early days, once a player is settled it can make a difference. i am not against signing a young striker who will be given time, but if we end up playing him out of position or more as an impact sub then i dont know it would see him deliver what is needed.

i am happy with the arrival, as i say its for us to make sure he fits in and can get the best out of him. it sounds like a very promising signing.

Happy with this. Another player with potential. He was a great talent at Everton and I thought it'd be a loan move, then I realised he was older than I thought and he's got only 6 months left. 7 goals and 1 assist this season in PL2

I have spoken before about where signing young players in a good established team which can give the foundation for all players to thrive is a beneficial part to squad building. He will have plenty of potential, reading comments and having browsed Everton fan sites a lot of their fans seem surprised he's not joined a League One team. I know this is quite common, just look at Josh Martin for intense, but the signing does come with a large amount of prospect.

Fans just need to be mindful he might require time to settle, and he most likely won't be a ready replacement for Dan Crowley. Yet for the future, there's no reason why he couldn't, and we just need to provide him with the platform to flourish.

The majority of fans will welcome him, and even better, we have a mixture of experience where he can further learn from within a first-team environment. George Abbott could very well help him early on, due to them being near the same age. Signing sensible, good prospects like this is what teams at our level must do to be more competitive.

Very good interview on the NCFC website. Confident, assured young man. Still can't understand the 6 month contract though.Β

Any ideas?

Good signing! He must have a good pedigree of skill, being with Everton for so long. I am encouraged by the signing, as he can be moulded and encouraged to use his natural ability to help us progress.
