Rumour: Crowley going to MK Dons?

Featured Replies

Again, sadly I think there’s something it in. Just surprised it’s MK… He should be stepping up to League 1 in all honesty after us. They must be paying him loads, it’s the only reason I can think he’d go there. Really hope it doesn’t happen but given we’ve just signed two attacking midfielders; it feels rather ominous.

I really hope he doesn’t go we need our best players to get us out of this league. Β Why would he want to go from Notts to MK Dons we’ve got a better chance of promotion I would have thought.Β

He’s a committed Christian isn’t he? I’m surprised that money will motivate him.

Very dissapointing if this rumour is true. The rumour that the fee is Β£300k would be an absolute giveaway in my opinion.

The fact that the club is rumoured to be MK Dons is another body blow. Why would Notts sell to a League 2 rival?

And surely Dan would want to go to a League 1 club at the very least if he was keen on leaving. If the rumour is true it doesn't make a lot of senseΒ

Peter O'Rourke was I believe the first to highlight Macca to Millwall...Β

Notts would have obviously tried to extend Dan's contract this season..it hasn't happened.

Thinking back to Ruben, his form did tail off in the remaining months of his contract.

If @RobbieΒ is correct re Β£300k fee, then Notts will take the money...if Dan doesn't want to stay.

Β

If it is Β£300K, there is no way I wouldn’t snap their hands off, especially for a league 2 journeyman who’s already had 12 clubs.Β
Would prefer to keep him because he does make us a lot stronger going forward and can do things that no one else in the squad can, but I wouldn’t want a disinterested player just seeing out the season and trying not to get injured.

Probably explains the signing of the Everton lad and the clubs thinking around signing Jarvis to play more centrally.

OΓΉr recent return to form has beenΒ  DC related. I thought Notts would have seen his contract through and allowed him to go on a free. Once the season had concluded. If MK go up and we don't this will be a contributing moment.Β  But then again, I have faith in the Recruitment Team.

Dan Crowley is an excellent player. However, he needs a team that is built around him and the way he likes to play. He can be brilliant one minute and infuriating the next.Β

Β

For sure he will be a miss. However, if he's on his last 6 months and has no intention of staying, then that's fine. I'd be happy for him to stay and push us up into League One then go elsewhere at the top end of L1 or even the Championship, but if the rumours are true and he wants to go to MK Franchise, then his head has gone. Offload him.Β

It's not just the fact that Crowley might be going to MK Dons. It's also that they are rivals with Notts for promotion tooΒ

He'll also be able to link up well with Nemane, which isn't good news for the rest of the Division either.

By all means sell him. Every player has his price, but selling him to a promotion rival could come back to bite us big

I would have at least put a clause in the transfer,Β  that he couldn't play in the match against us on the 1st April at Meadow Lane.

I think DC is League One quality and MK Dons are possibly the best side below Notts. It will definitely hurt us, especially if neither Notts or MK Dons gain promotion this season.

Are they? Not when we played them they weren't, more like one of the worst.

Β

Chesterfield and Donny were far better. Granted, MK have lots of cash it seems, but thus far nothing has clicked for them.

Completely agree, there`s a reason they are sitting in 11th place. I`m thinking of their potential. It will click eventually. Hopefully not this season, but when it does I think they will be a very difficult team to deal with.

I guess if he wasn’t going to sign a new contract it’s better to get money now than nothing in the summer.

We were worried that no one would replace Reuben Rodrigues but in the end we haven’t really missed him. If Crowley goes I’m confident he’ll be replaced.

it does look like its true and i think dan crowley will end up regretting leaving, i really hope so. there have been a lot of rumours about him allegedly wanting to join them after we rejected their bid when they signed aaron nemane. they have hardly been one of the better teams this season and i dont think they wlll be going anywhere, we have a good chance of finishing in the top 3 if we can keep up the good form. even if not, playoffs should be the minimum.

i think the move will be more about money, than wanting to play in league one or higher. its very disappointing, because crowley has been a very good player for us and whilst i might be wrong. it does make me wonder why he would want to jump ship to a team lower down in the table who have not been the best this season.

Very disappointed that he would leave for another league 2 team. Therefore it seems like it must be for the money, as currently we look more likely to be promoted than The Dons.

All done. Statement from the board makes it clear, he went for the money. That's fine, footballs a short career and all that jazz. It seemed with us he was getting to / in the best form of his career. He's chosen to give that up. Hope it goes OK enough for him at MK Franchise, by that I mean, narrowly missing out on playoffs.Β

His comments really haven’t helped his cause in trying to convince people that in reality, he isn’t a very nice person. He’ll go to MK and within 12 months he will be looking for another exit because he isn’t getting everything his way, the man is showing precisely why he has the journeyman tag above his head.
I look forward to hearing the very warm welcome Notts fans will give him in April, he’ll have a stinker…
