This game is one which we can't waste really, if we play like we did last Saturday I can see us getting the win. Crewe are struggling, although they do have some decent players. I don't think this will be as easy as some are lining it up to be! Being bottom isn't somewhere you will want to be, they have young lads and are trying to pull them together.

Hopefully the fans can make an impact, against Chesterfield they did.

I'd keep Adams on the wing myself, I think he did well there and this gives others a chance. I'd give Thompson a break though, Chesterfield saw him as the weak link and did well running at him.

Roy Carroll might not have so much to do in this game, unlike some of our most recent games.

Score prediction - 0-1 Notts!

Thoughts?

i think crewe are terribly poor, usually we struggle to sides like these. i think we win quite comfortably, 2-0. goals coming from noble and harrard.

This is a fixture that Notts should win.The fact Crewe are bottom of the league doesn't mean Notts will win at a canter. An early goal from Notts would be nice to ease nerves and put Crewe on the back foot.

Crewe have been pretty shoddy all season and have the worst defence in the English leagues - 24 goals conceded in nine matches is poor. That said, we are away, so we shouldn't take this game lightly. A typical banana-skin game, so hopefully Shaun Derry will organise his side properly and, if we can get an early goal, they should hopefully crumble.

Only acceptable result is 3 points. They are the worst side in the division.

All the points should return back home to us!

If we have any ambition we will make sure that we do not slip up here, I also agree after saturday we should control the game. I am excited about the new lad, I feel it might be to early seeing him as a starter but if we can just get that bite up front we will start turning draws into wins.

We will this!

I am very confident that the lads can do the job against Crewe. I mean no disrespect to them but they have been very poor, I am surprised that they have managed to win so far in this season. As Joe Jones says, the amount of goals against them already shows what weakness they have.

I'm thinking this could be an interesting game. We need to win of course, for our mentality.

@MuddyPatchPie i would be surprised to see two strikers starting but we did look better at chesterfield.

which two would you start? i would go for murray and harrad myself. would anyone keep haynes on the wing? and drop adams back into defence?

I'd give Haynes a proper run in his actual position myself, if he could get a goal (perhaps two) that would be good for his confidence. I don't mind him on the wing, though it seems a waste when we actually need a finisher. I am not convinced by Harrad, he runs and grafts but there's nothing there to suggest at the moment he deserves a starting position.

The same could be said for Cassidy, I'd have both on the bench myself.

Go with Murray if he's fit.

No, Haynes is not the answer for me.

Murray should be played as a striker but Derry seems to have him labelled as someone to help create play. I do not think he's played in his best position this season, which would be nice to see.

Maggies get the first goal tonight! Worst defence meets the best.

Not long now!

It sounds like we need to take control of the game, very open by what Uncle Colin mentions.

It does sound lively though, Harrad challenged and we had a free kick but it's all very quiet at the moment. All I keep hearing is the Refs whistle!

Harrad & Cassidy and if Cassidy doesn't do the business, substitute him for Murray

Thank god for Cassidy.

I'm hoping we can go 2-0 up, it started sound much better until the ref blown for half time! Hope we take the moment and seize the game after when the games re-kicked off.

Shaun has picked an attacking formation and has been rewarded with a goal just at the right time, let's hope there is more to come...especiallyu as i have about £20 on the away win, but that's neither here nor there, he lies!

2-0 up, I feel like dancing!

Harrad and Cassidy sounds like a work in progress lineup, I hope to see us start with them on Saturday. We need to see a partnership form where they have a great understanding, if we could get another goal (not being greedy) this will be a good way to gain confidence.

Excellent result and finally Derry plays the correct formation to get the best out of Cassidy. I will be very disappointed if we revert back to one up front on Saturday! Performances like tonight will bring the fans back to Meadow Lane.

From what Derry said in his interviews, I don't think he will be reverting. Not every side is Crewe, though this partnership is exciting.

Like Murray and Spencer.

The new winger sounds good, two assets and good direct play.
