Premiership, Championship is good for the entertainment and value but the prem's got it all.

I think the Bundesliga would be my 3rd choice.

i do not rate the german or spanish leagues, the italian league needs injecting some of it's 90's passion. i quite like the dutch league but the star players stand out because of the poor players. its not much better than the championship really, so i will say the prem.

The league where all the players are legends, lonely league one.

If not that, it is the premiership.

As an overall entertainment package I go with the Bundesliga, including atmosphere, ticket prices, being served beer at your seat as an away fan, quality of stadia, being able to stand if I want to etc. as well as the on-the-field entertainment.

For the best football quality then some games in La Liga top everything else, but the bottom end is not so hot.

I find the premier league too predictable and again the bottom half are very poor indeed.

If I want 100% effort from all 22 players for 90 minutes (quality notwithstanding) I watch non-league football below the conference. Also the food and drink are a lot cheaper...

League One is technically in Europe, so I'll go with that  :shifty:

The Bundesliga is great in many ways, but I've never felt so bored with it as I do now. I've never seen Bayern so utterly dominant. In the past there was a bit of a cycle, Bayern would always be there or thereabouts but no-one knew who would be scrapping it out with them - Stuttgart, Schalke, Bremen, Dortmund, even sodding Wolfsburg!

But now Bayern are utterly dominant and the Bundesliga is suffering from an influx of soulless clubs pushed to the top level by rich sponsors - on top of Leverkusen (Bayer) there is now Hoffenheim (village club backed by billionaire owner) and Wolfsburg (VW), and Ingolstadt (Audi) and RB Leipzig (Red Bull) will be joining them soon. If you imagine Bottesford Town being bought by Rolls Royce and spending their way to the Premier League cheered on by thousands of new-found fans, you can imagine how German fans feel about these clubs. Ticket prices are rising too.

I think there is a great deal of difference between those 5. "RasenBallsport" Leipzig are 100% bad for football in my opinion. They are a real danger to German football's future. I was cheered however, by their defeat at Darmstadt (An old traditional club) at the weekend. Red Bull just bought a club with which they had no connection and are using them PURELY for marketing.

Bayer 04 Leverkusen have been around for so long they'll part of the furniture now and for all their money have never won the league (ha ha). VW and Audi are sponsoring the clubs from the cities/towns in which their factories have been traditionally based, thereby putting entertainment in front of their own workers (in a way). I don't like it but there's an up-side to go with the negatives. Sponsors can go anyway - Bayer 05 Uerdingen anybody??

Hoffenheim are the interesting one, yes I share the dislike of them, but Hopp did play for them as a kid and is putting his money back into the club which play in the area he originally came from. I don't like the buying of success, but I guess it is actually his money, rather than that which permeates England which appears to come from the Russian mafia, or the Malaysian betting conmen or far-eastern crooks or English pornographers or US asset strippers, or Italian crooks or anyone else the FA can find who will help them destroy football in this country.

I agree with pretty much all of that. RB are definitely the most toxic of the bunch as they are purely a marketing tool taking up a 2nd Bundesliga place. While Leverkusen and Wolfsburg are part of the future and you can hardly blame their parent companies for getting involved, they and Hoffenheim are rather artificial and uninteresting.

Don't get me wrong, I don't just want to see the same old big names in the Bundesliga every year. I just feel that the league loses some of its soul every time one of these plastic clubs wins promotion. I'd much rather see Braunschweig, Dresden or Magdeburg inject some interest and passion into the league again.

It makes you appreciate how lucky we are to have so many clubs steeped in tradition. There may be some shady individuals buying into our clubs, but at least they're real clubs with history and followed by generations of fans. I don't think that's something RB Leipzig's fans will ever understand.

There is a lot wrong with the Premiere League, but look at that table.  We were playing Southampton not too long ago, and they have only conceded 5 goals this season.

Germans aren't best pleased with RB.

Translating to 'We give RB the Red Card'.

I don't think this one needs much translating:

Its very cliche to suggest which league is the best.

I will tell you which isn't the MLS.

Premiership, no question.

No doubt in my mind, if the cost was lower more would agree.

Probably true to be honest.

While I know this is part of a completely different debate altogether, but would safe standing help? Opening up the capacity of stadiums (safely) could stop people being priced out of games. BVB fans don't seem to complain, with their capacity of 80k and their "yellow wall"

Digressing again, I would love the Kop to be safe standing, do I remember from somewhere an issue that the Kop is too steep?

As far as I'm aware the gradient is too steep for conventional standing. However, safe standing would be different as there are more rails. In my experience safe standing areas are far steeper than old-style terracing used to be.

As much as I'd like it, installing safe standing areas would not be economical for a club like Notts. What's the point in spending money increasing the capacity when we don't get close to capacity anyway? I think we're more likely to see it at bigger clubs which get near-capacity crowds, or in new stadiums. It would definitely be a good thing for English football though.

If we go down the route of safe standing which won't happen unless we go a division higher or unless we gain serious income boost, it will be too expensive and nobody really knows if it would work or fail.

Safe standing would be ideal for a section of the Jimmy Sirrel and for the Haydn Green stand.

I would keep the kop seated myself.

The English game would have to look at our nations which have got this spot on and look at countries where it doesn't work.

Realistically it would only happen as part of a re-development or rebuild of a stand.

I really think the premiership is still the best league.

Can anyone compare revenue, how many goals are scored, big signings and information like that? That would be interesting. I would expect the prem to stand out head above the rest of europe.

@CliftonMagpie also relevant IMO is value for money, so in those stats I think we should have entry prices and how much to view on TV

compared to a few years back, its now more evenly split and clubs from all euro nations are becoming strong due to investments.

It might prove a league like Greece's might be more popular than we would give them credit.
