Oldham Athletic vs Notts County

Much different compared to the last time we went there, the game wasn't that entertaining if it wasn't for surviving the League One drop - It would be nice to see a good attendance but several fans have already highlighted the weather concern. I don't think it will be a problem, the snow can hold off until at least Sunday.

Notts need to regain their form here, it's time the squad pulled together and had a go.

If we can put in a solid performance, I could see us winning this one but Oldham can be a team who we struggle against. Still I quite fancy Bajner to score, If only he could blow them off the park! ;)

Personally I don't think much of them as a unit. I think we could win this one, I'll say 2-0.

What about you? Thoughts?

I agree with your score... sadly I won't be attending... tightening of belts required

im not expecting fireworks against them but i do hope we defend better, if derry does have a word with them he should point out the comparison from the start to this point now because its shocking. i think they could punish us but its for us to prove ourselves, i say 1-0 to them.

i dont see why not.

It will depend on getting balls to our forwards and how well they play, the new lad looked decent on saturday. I could see bajner also scoring! oldham are not really playing pretty football either so its down to use to step up. 2-1 Notts :)

If all things click together I could see us beating them 3-0.

It would be something to step over and on another club for once, I am hoping to make the drive up but I will be leaving it until mid friday to decide or not. We should at least draw this one.

If Derry plays Dumbaya instead of Hayden White, i reckon we could nick it.

I don't see any reason after last Saturday's performance to even start White, he might get better with time but he's a risk to start ahead.

Shove Cranston there, I am sure he could do the job.

We are unbeaten in our last 6 games against Oldham, including 3 draws at their place. Both sides have won 1 and drawn 1 of their last 6. It looks like Jonathan Forte will miss the game through injury which is a big plus for us. It's too close to call but I'll go for 1-1.

Both teams will be wanting to improve even more so after both of our last results.

These types of games tend to favour the home side, I am not sure who will win. I think a draw would be a safe bet provided the game goes ahead. So I will say 2-2 and I have my fingers crossed for no injuries.

Win would be nice, I'd expect us to be better defensively after Peterborough and we looked a lot better going forward so I definitely think it is possible. I think White will start again unfortunately, Dumbuya looked like he had a right attitude during half time warming up, didn't look slightly interested, wonder if there's been a falling out.

I half expect Forte to return, he was touch and go in their last match and they a few fans think Saturday will be his return.

If the defence played well we could easily retain him.

I'd say a draw seems the most likely outcome.but ,as has been said above, there will be more presure on Oldham as the home side.SD has had a bit of time too to try and shape an improved side.He also has options to try something different if things aren't going to plan.I'm going to stick my neck out and predict a 3 -0 win to Notts but please don't blame me if I'm way out.

I'm just keeping my fingers crossed for a point or three.

Good luck to Notts today.

Superb team selection. Well done Derry fie showing he is willing to change it up

Muzzie rb Cranston lb mullins hollis

G thompson, noble C Thomson Hayhurst

BB and woolery

Apologies for spellings!

I would have dropped hollis as well, but apart from that i agree SD

What makes me angry is Noble and Carroll again.

Liam 'Can't play 90mins without getting sent off' Noble and Roy 'card a game' Carroll.

Posted

Noble's been sent off? I've been out all day, I haven't felt well and only know the score was 3-0 at one point.

It will be interesting to see what Derry says.

Not really acceptable in my opinion.

Posted

What the hell was that..... I have used the word abject, and that is right for today...

Those two need to sort themselves out.... If not Derry needs to do it for them....

I worry that at the moment Carroll is un-droppable, and to be fair he isn't... Pilks is a great bloke and was a good keeper, but he isn't in the same league as Carroll IMO

Noble needs dropping, and sod him, make him work to get back in...

Oh dear.

No he didn't in the end, just a yellow.

Today says it all about us at the moment. Can't defend to save our, well season!

Didn't want to come on here early and look like a pessimist, but sod it. We are poor. End of.

Both Hollis and, unfortunately, Mullins both sounded rubbish again today. You can't decent like that and expect to get away with it.

SD, please don't talk about playoffs when we've just been beaten again and again. Closer to relegation form at the moment.

Yellow cards not great again.

Replace the central defenders or go back to 5 at the back again.

Posted

I hope to remind Derry you can't go from having the best defence in the league to having one (if not) the worst.

The panic of relegation isn't on my mind but I do wonder how 'much' that 'chat' he was supposed to have with the players played apart in this result, he needs to face up to the mistakes he makes and quit unsettling the side. Find a formation and team, stick with it! Quite clearly we have confident issues. (excuse my snappy response here, I feel very unwell) Though I am tired of excuses and losing to Oldham isn't the end of the world but by 3 goals and all the comments I've seen, it's time we faced up to it.

WE NEED DEFENDERS NOT STRIKERS.
