for a 4-3-3 (4-1-5)

Β

Carroll, Amevor, McKenzie, Bennett, Adams

Β

Jenner (if he comes)or Hayhurst, Swerts, Snijders (if he comes)or Milsom

Β

Stead, Murray, Spencer

Β

Bench

TBC Keeper, Hollis, Noble or Wroe, Milsom or Hayhurst, De Silva (if he signs) or Daniels

Β

for a 4-4-2

Carroll, Amevor, McKenzie, Bennett, Adams

Jenner or Hayhurst, Swerts, Noble or Wroe, Snijders or Milsom

Stead, Spencer

Bench

Keeper, Hollis, Noble or Wroe, De silva or Daniels, and if they don't play either Hayhurst or Milsom

There is a lot of ifs and maybe's in here, but from the pieces we have heard, or had rumoured... that doesn't seem too shabby a side for this league....

Depending how quick the two wide men are, I prefer the 4-3-3, and of that team, I would probably have Bennet as the Captain, but there are leaders back to front..... Carroll, Bennett, Swerts, Stead

Tempest.... dont ask me how he got there

@Black&WhitePIE there is always a risk in going early with the side, but I think it just shows there is renewed optimism. Part of me does say, hold on now fella, let's just wait and see, the other half of me, just wants to go down the pub and stick it to the Carlisle fans....

i would not start mckenzie when he is unproven.

at this moment i would stick with hollis because he will be okay in league two, if we sign another defender perhaps have him on the bench. i think milsom and noble should part the middle but the rest i am undecided on.

Listening to Amevor's interview on Magpie Player, he is here to play as a CB. So...

Carroll

Β

??????, Amevor, Bennett, Adams
Β -----------------Swertz-----------------------
------Milsom----------Noble--------------
-Murray----------------------Hayhurst--
-----------------Stead----------------------

Is probably how I see us lining up at the moment. I don't see Spencer as a winger, but I do want him in the starting line-up somewhere. It's been mentioned that Stead can't play the full 90 Saturday - Tuesday kind of thing, so maybe we will see some rotation with Spencer there.Β

Playing two wingers in the midfield 3 would be suicidal.Β

I like this lineup, yet we have better wingers than Murray. Jenner will go there once he confirms.

@Super_Danny_Allsopp I think Ricardo may go for it though, there are going to be exciting times ahead. something akin to the Keegan period at Newcastle, you score 2 or 3, we don't careΒ because we are going to score 4 or 5, that kind of thing.

Β

I really am genuinely excited

Yep, with the signings that are rumoured:

Carroll

Hoyte, Amevor, Bennett, Adams

-----------------Swertz-----------------------

------Milsom----------Foreign CM-----------------

-Foreign winger---------------------Jenner--

-----------------Stead----------------------

I'm fairly happy with that. We need to try and keep the English/foreign balance well... er... balanced.Β

I'm not so sure that would work in L2. There are a whole load of teams that will park the bus and hack anything that moves. Hell, we should know, that was our game plan last season.Β

---------------Carroll
Hoyte, Amevor, Bennett, Sharpe

Or drop Noble, push Swerts into the centre and put Spencer upfront.

Why are people insisting we revert to a formation everyone moaned about the past few seasons?

One striker is depressing, yes we may have the quality but can't we just remain tradition whilst we aim to get our footing back. If we struggle to score, people will soon moan.

So, 4-3-3 or 4-4-2 would be ideal.

Top like could be like this.

Murray - Spencer - Stead or just Spencer - Stead.

By the end of next week, we may be listening changes.

Hopefully a 4-3-3 (including potential signings and backups also listed)

GK Carroll

RB Hoyte/Amevor

CBs Amevor/Hollis & Bennett/McKenzie

LB Sharpe/Cranston

CDM Swerts

CMs Thompson/Noble & Milsom

RW Jenner/Murray

ST Stead/Murray

LW Snijders/Adams

So... thinking about all the incomings we've had recently who do you see lining up for the regular 11?

Β

Based on who we have now (there may still be more to come!)

Β

For me I expect it to be something along these lines

Β

Β  Β  Β  Β  Β  Β  Β  Β  Β  Carroll
RB...Hoyte??? Amevor Bennett Sharpe
Β  Β  Β  Β  Β  Β  Β  Β  Swerts

Β  Β  Β Noble/Thompson MilsomΒ
Snijders Β  Β  Β  Β  Β  Β  Β  Β  Β  Β  Β  Β Jenner

Updated (4-1-3-2)

--------------Carroll--------------

Amevor---Bennett---McKenzie---Adams

--------------Swerts---------------

Jenner--------Milsom-------Snijders

---------Stead-----Campbell--------

Our squad has such depth now! I think though that signing a RB, GK and CB would be useful
