So its our toughest test yet and we will be able to see how our team fear against actual league opposition looking forward to seeing how we cope

Someone better tell Leigh Curtis before it's too late:

Jimmy Spencer hopes Notts County can maintain their "winning habit" in pre-season as they prepare to face a significant step up in quality tonight.

Lol, this not so young 'un gets it.

I haven't seen any of the pre season games so can't really comment yet! However I'd like to see us putting out the side we intend to start with in the league in the next match and not so many changes. We especially need a settled back four as I don't want to watch another season of calamitous goals!! It's a long time since we've had a rock solid defence and we're going to need that in League 2. Let's hope the "new signings buzz" lives up to the hype!

The moaners are just a taste of what's to come if we don't start well. There's an air of expectation around the club. I think it will take time to get it right, we have to be patient.

Well, I wouldn't be disappointed by the result. Yet with the optimism, it does need capturing and uses wisely. A good performance at home, will make all the difference I am sure.

2-1 seems about right.

A few on facebook were moaning alreadyΒ

Now why doesn't that surprise me.

I read a very good report from Natty who writes on the mailling list and it sounds like it was a very physical battle which the Notts players stood up to very well, I did have a few worries about how they would cope when they started getting kicked up in the air by league two teams but it sounds like they gave as good as they got, so that in itself is encouraging.

Just watched the highlights.

Their 2nd goal is pathetic from a defending point of view. Due to the camera being rubbish, you can't quite make out his number, but first he lets his man run down the line, then when the left back does close him down, the same lazy player fails to go past a jog to mark another player who ends up scoring.Β

You mean fans are moaning about losing a friendly? Good lord, what next?

We had a good pre season not last year, but the one prior to that and just look what happened. I am afraid some just like to dwell on anything which can kick notts back down. I think the recent PONcast highlighted the problem. Nothing to be judged here at all, I am not bothered. League games are what matters, friendlies are just a bit of fun.
