What clubs do you have a soft spot for and why?

I've heard a lot of people say they have a soft spot for a certain team, to be honest I can't think of one for myself. I always look for the results of the local teams but I wouldn't really say I have a soft spot for them.

With my dad being a Norwich City fan, I'd say them.  In terms of completely random teams, I'd go with Everton. It must be something about the perennial underdogs, and always (mostly always anyway) doing well without spending silly money.

I've always kept a close eye on AFC Wimbledon after what happened to Wimbledon FC. Was really happy about their return to the League, and hopefully they can return home soon.

I don't really hold any malice to many teams, I think that would fall around 5-8.

So that said, I tend to have soft spots for many sides. When I was little I always liked Wrexham, I don't really know why but I would look out for their score. I also used to jump at the chance of watching Arsenal on TV, I think that started when they played Spurs back around 92/93 because of their stripy socks. Also, running PON has put me in contact with many teams and I have grown to look for sides like Walsall, Shrewsbury, Rotherham and Swindon.

Probably missed some obvious names off, yet I think football is better when you don't despise everyone.

In fact, with me doing the live opposition view for PON - I enjoy mingling with them before the games and you forget about rivalry.

I have always liked Bury and Yeovil, this is more because of the locations though.

Well my GF is a Villa fan, and I have a unhealthy man crush on Jack Grealish, according to her ha ha ha.

Plus they always seem to stay up no matter what, so I'm going to say Aston Villa.

Firstly I have a soft spot for anybody playing the tree huggers...if that counts...I always look for results of teams from places I have lived

Although I've already confessed to @notts-joe it's time I shared with the rest of PON.

I have also been a fan/supporter of Manchester United for almost as many years as I have been a Notts fan. I'd have to say over the last 10 years I've been to OT as many times as I have the Lane.

I have now though seen the light and dedicate my full attention to the Pies.

I hope you can all forgive me, feel free to flame.

Regards Al

That's going to take some doing. At least your willing to repent now though. 20 Hail Mary's for you then you can begin on the road to salvation!

Well you all know which team I have a soft spot for, thanks to my old boss at work back in the 60's and my father-in-law.                                                                                           My maternal grandparents came from Bradford and my dad often took me to see Bradford City or Park Avenue.I never took to City but I did like PA especially after the Rams signed King Kev from them.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                         My paternal grandfather came from Sheffield(moved to Derbyshire in his early teens) so you'll be pleased to know, @nightOWL, that he always looked out for your lots score and so did I.

East Fife and Forfar also spring to mind if only in the hope that when they play each other the score could be-East Fife 4 -Forfar 5 or variations.

My first ever game was Notts vs Stoke City 77/78 ish. We won 1-0 I think. The day remains with me.

I can't lie Old Trafford is an amazing place. A European Night match is incredible there and I also got the chance to join the prawn sandwich brigade a few times. But due to costs, travel time I have returned to my first love.

Bournemouth have always been my second team. Mainly because of family holidays we had down there. Still have to pinch myself when i see there name in the premier table. Seems very bazaar. Up the Cherries.

Oh, and I always support Man U when they play in europe.

I worked with a Derby fan whose second team was Reading, he often used to go to see them play when Derby weren't playing, I asked him why he supported Reading and he said because when he was at school aged six his favourite subject was reading.

True story.
