Alan Smith will be the next manager I reckon. Seriously.

They should have put the statue of Jimmy and Jack in the home dug-out and then save money by not having a manager.

Is there anyone who knows the club that we can get back? Someone with experience?

It's more disappointing than the result today, I really dislike how we have a tendency of having drama.

my guess sponge bob and Patrick his assistant

Peter griffin

Who cares Itl be a nobody cheap useless and we will all get told he is the next Jose mourinho and he did a great interview

I doubt we'll be appointing anyone in the next two or three weeks, so who is going to plan the squad for next season? Surely not the same bloke who failed utterly last time around?

Itl be guy branston keeping and firing players brining in more c*** and we all have to sit back as Ray and alieen allow it.

And when we finally get a manager hel more then likely come in and not like any of the players and back to square one.

im so tempted to really not bother with a season ticket and travel all the way from the West Midlands for 2hours plus on a train while the trews don't care.

Ray just sell the club cut you're losses and just go I can see next year a massive loss on season tickets as people are not going to pay when guy branston is bringing more crap in

I was certain I was going to get a new season ticket but now I'm not so sure!

Let's get some names! Who would you want if you could choose ? Paul Hurst looks like a decent manager but after having a great season again he's only got the playoffs, Graham westly is a name I've heard the last few times ?

But I can't see us getting anyone good, the same with florist, we both have owners that no one wants to work for, and if they do then they have their hands tied behind their backs

Would Hurst come if he were to gain promotion from the Conference?

I would prefer the ownership of the club to be sorted as a priority first and foremost. Dryden can oversee the player side of things until we have owners in place.

I wouldn't trust anyone at the club currently, to bring in anyone worthy of a permanent appointment.

God no no and a third emphatic no matey , I don't bye a season ticket personally but if I did it would be a no no for me this time till the sale is done , I'm sceptical on that happening , as for any managerial appointment again sorry but no , wouldn't personally want either of those mentioned , I guess ya just putting names out for debate no offence meant at all pal , but no , and GB just do one don't know of and positive posts about him MUST go.

Paul Hurst has, for the last two seasons, had a 2 million pound budget and only reached the play-offs, this budget is nigh on twice everyone elses. His football is boring negative defensive sh!te ala Fullarton.

This is quickly descending into a farce. The circus act that is Notts County FC is about to derail next season as well as the current one. Saying that, we've been a laughing stock for a while now, but its beyond bearable at the moment, even for our long suffering fans.

I know it's stating the obvious, but we need the club sold. I'm sick to the back teeth of this repetition, and why we are still on about it I don't know, it should be done and dusted so we can press on. At this point whether it's RT's imaginary billionaires or Alan Hardy, I have no preference, as long as it isn't the Trews.

The Trews originally came here as our saviour from the disastrous Munto, but they are quickly turning into the Lincoln version of them.

Paul Hurst would be a good fit for Notts as his record at Grimsby is excellent but I don't think anything will be decided until after the Conference play off final & if Grimsby get back into the FL, he may not want to come to Notts.

Mark Yates anyone? He did Ok at Cheltenham, hardly an inspiring choice, but at least he has experience and guided Cheltenham to the playoff twice. Also on the subject of Paul Hurst, I think he would bring some stability and at least shore up our leaking defence!

As fans, are we looking for the Holy Grail of managers, or do we just go with sure and steady for a while?

@Fozzy Really disagree. Yates was an abject failure at Crawley...One reason why he shouldnt be given another chance at Notts..... I would prefer Hurst, Cotterill, Pennock and even the Braintree manager over Yates

I'm not saying I want him as Notts manager @Piethagoram (far from it as I would love to see Cotterill back), but he has been interviewed according to Sky Sports. He obviously must have had some success at Cheltenham to have stayed so long and Crawley were in a financial mess for quite a lot of this season.

I want a manager that will play half decent football, improve the defence and have the guts to wrestle control from Branston. We need someone in the Warnock, Allardyce, Cotterill mold, but I haven't a clue who that would be, or whether he would come to Notts.

@Fozzy Point taken but I am worried that he has been considered for interview...Crawley played Jamie's style of hoof ball. For that reason alone, he should not be worthy of consideration

I'm not inspired by any of the names.

It's a no to Mark Yates from  me. He was in charge at Cheltenham for something like 5 years and got them into the play-offs twice on presumably modest resources, but if I remember rightly they were rock bottom of the league when they sacked him and ended up going down. And Crawley were just as bad as us this season.

Paul Hurst's record seems OK, but the jury is out. The PE teacher from Braintree sounds interesting but is too much of a risk. And unless we get new owners with lots of dosh, Cotterill isn't coming back either.

My favourite, if we could get him, would be Chris Powell. Failing that you can roll a dice.

Yates ruled out. Well that's one bullet dodged. Sounds like Cowley isn't being considered either.

What's Steve Thompson doing nowadays?

He's watching a lot of Boston United for radio Lincs from what I can gather, beats the building trade though.

I was like this before, which I have to admit - I wasn't even sure about Mark Cooper but I naturally warmed to him.

Provided the next manager tries to connect with us Notts fans, they have a good grasp on the game and what is required - I'll accept them but ideally one I relate too would help. Fullarton/Curle etc I found difficult.
