Old movies you like that are considered flops

Does anyone like any movies that are considered flops?

I would be interested in seeing what PON members can come up with.

Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory.

I think it flopped as I watched a TV show that traced the children stars from the film and they mentioned it had became a cult classic but had flopped in cinemas. Its about the only thing I can think of but its a good film.

Masters of the Universe (He-Man).

It's a classic film in my eyes, I know it didn't do very well and a lot people give it negative reviews but for me it's awesome. I have fond memories of watching it when I was younger and I think for the era the film wasn't all that bad. Parts are a little cheesy but overall it's a great film.

A field where dreams become reality.

I think Disney's Mary Poppins flopped and only became popular from TV networks putting on a round Christmas.

As a kid I liked it.

Also Home Alone one comes to mind, that didn't do well at first.

Oh oh oh ohhhhh, everywhere where we go, watching super County putting on a show!

Didn't the first Die Hard fail? I think it was saved by the VHS release.

When people ask what 'American Pie' is about, they're missing the point. The song isn't about the lines themselves - it's about what is between the lines. The song is about what isn't there.

Don McLean

A Christmas Story. At least it seems to be little-known in the UK, I'd never heard of it until my wife showed me. I hate Christmas films, but this is one of the funniest films I know. Kids probably won't quite get it though!

I thought this was a very common film to watch during Christmas myself.
