Your Danny Allsopp memories.

Featured Replies

He scored an amazing goal for Notts from distance but I don't recall who it was against, I just remember being on the edge of my seat and thinking how good he was. He was a favourite player of mine and probably @Super_Danny_Allsopp's too.

I also remember playing CM4 and having Allsopp take on teams by himself.

I'd sign him for whoever I managed and he would always do well, even for Arsenal. Great player!

Quality player, I don't know why the club sold him when it was clear just how good of a striker he was.

Oh oh oh ohhhhh, everywhere where we go, watching super County putting on a show!

Relieved to hear it's his birthday. Thought he was dead when I saw the title!

My favourite is during a home match against Tranmere in the "Great Escape" season under Billy Deardon. It looked like we were going down with a whimper, even a change of manager hadn't improved our fortunes. Then we put in a brilliant performance completely out of the blue and go in at half time 3-0 up. Can't remember if Allsopp scored all of them, but he was definitely the hero of the hour. The start of an excellent run.

I had moved over here before he was signed by Notts, but his goal record doesn't reflect how often I recall him appearing on the score sheet for the club. It seemed every other game he was scoring for fun.

When people ask what 'American Pie' is about, they're missing the point. The song isn't about the lines themselves - it's about what is between the lines. The song is about what isn't there.
