2-1 Stead shows his worth.

People will be wanting him to start against Yeovil now he's scored, Notts seem to be playing well. Good game so far.

It’s odds on that Dennis and Hemings were going to start Friday but now Stead has given Nolan something to think about.

Do you take the same drugs as clifton?

Obviously our defenders should be keeping a top 6 championship clubs multi million pound strike force out the game as if we were playing Long Eaton United.

We could dwell on the defending and say how Notts didn't make a Championship side work for the goals they scored but I am pleased by the performance. It makes a positive difference to know the squad can retake the lead.

I think the rest can be worked on, massive improvement over the Cambridge and Colchester league games.

I think you need to calm down, your reply here isn't acceptable.

Mark Stallard mentioned how Middlesbrough didn't have to work hard for their goals, this would mean that the defence made it easy. It's not for you to make outlandish remarks every time you disagree with someone.

Please edit your offending post and apologise.

the defending needs to be improved, the same championship side we scored three times against to go into the lead. a better defensive team would have managed to hold out more than likely. its a good result and not a negative but @Northants Pie has crossed the line tonight.

suggest a young fan is on drugs.

there is no need to be offensive, you should apologise immediately. you can have your say without being personal or abusive.

This might be a little overkill, just see how he reacts.

I think some people would be like "right, this here is my excuse sod them". He should apologise, I don't care about what he says but when he offends a young fan that is out of order.

I totally agree with you

Not sure what’s going off here has someone hacked @Northants Pie‘s account? This seems out of character he’s not normally one to speak out of turn like this. I do agree it was a bit out of order. Perhaps an apology would smooth things over.

Tonight is a proud night, hopefully it will lift the squad but I do agree with the comments about the defence needs to take more responsibility to defend. Notts has to make it difficult for any opposition side to score, class will cut through but both Mark Stallard and Charlie Slater mentioned how easy the first two goals was.

The hardest part is to actually score against a higher opposition.

Yes, it becomes difficult there after to defend it but each time they scored - we resumed the lead only to give it a way. I don't care how much money they've spent, that's not the point because otherwise how do cup upsets happen?

However, as I say the spirit can lift the squad tonight.

It's highly proud to see several young lads make the team and do well, Pierce Bird sounded like he did alright which I was nervous about.

Tom Crawford deserves to start a game shortly, yet against Yeovil I would call for Noor Husin to start alongside David Vaughan.

Exactly, again Notts worked hard to lead the game not just once but three times.

People said Notts should have defended better against Forest in the League Cup 7 years ago, Notts fans on social media are saying it now. The defence needs to make it harder for anyone to score.

I didn't make the trip up to Middlesbrough myself (credit to the guys and girls who did though), but I did catch the goals on Sky Sports.

Nice free-kick from us and Stead... He does the business in the cup competitions. Like you say Chris I too am pleased for younger players like Crawford and Bird who sounded like they had good games.

As for the goals against us could Fitzsimmons have done more for the first two? Was he blocked a bit from the corner, could he have got to the cross? I'm not sure but he just seems to stand under his posts too much for my liking.

I'm not complaining though, a 3-3 away at a Championship club with no Hemmings, Dennis, Boldewijn or Vaughan is a pretty impressive result.

Hopefully we'll go into Friday with a bit of a good vibe!

I am pleased each time Notts got pegged back that they managed to take the lead again, it was a good performance by them and the formation change could have made it hard for Notts to defend. I don't really know, but I do feel it needs to improve.

My comment which seems to have taken offence to one member was posted immediately after they scored, I was very frustrated but I would defend my view point.

I don't feel I deserved to be abused verbally like that and it was more than a little out of hand as @Fan of Big Tone would suggest.

I won't post simple as that.

Apology or no apology I wouldn't accept it.
