This could be an usual thread depending how you see things. I was just replying to a discussion @Fan of Big Tone started and I mentioned how Kane Hemmings missed a sitter just before Cambridge United scored their second I believe.

I used the term: He missed a "sitter".

It's a very odd way to say a player missed a golden opportunity to score.

Can you think of any more football sayings?

This is a very good topic, I am curious to see if anyone else can add to this.

There's been some good additions to the list of "football saying", there's a few I can think of but let's see what everyone else comes out with first (secretly I just want to bump this back to the top). :ph34r:
