This could be an usual thread depending how you see things. I was just replying to a discussion @Fan of Big Tone started and I mentioned how Kane Hemmings missed a sitter just before Cambridge United scored their second I believe.

I used the term: He missed a "sitter".

It's a very odd way to say a player missed a golden opportunity to score.

Can you think of any more football sayings?
