Typos/errors

Featured Replies

Earlier this week , (after the televised Rams v Leeds game)I was conversing on Messenger with one of my old Rams fan mates. We were discussing were we went wrong and part of his reply  made me laugh. He said"Our players have it away too often"I know many a true word is spoken in jest but hey players do have a life away from football. What he meant to type was-"We Gave (the ball) it away too often"

Do any members have any similar  amusing typos ?

Human error is the cause of 99% errors in the English language, my old teacher said if we didn't make mistakes we wouldn't be who we are.

"Strive not to be a success, but rather to be of value."

As an ex print worker I can think of a few, this one isn’t really amusing in fact it was very sad for all concerned.

When I worked at a newspaper a colleague did an obituary to go into the paper. It needed to read “Loving memories of a dear dad” instead what was actually printed was “loving memories of a DEAD dad”, you can imagine the relatives were very upset and the person responsible was hauled over the coals by the management.

@Fan of Big Tone thats awful. :(

I should add that it was a genuine mistake but as you say awful for all concerned, my colleague was devastated that he had missed the mistake.

A bus stop near me once had "erection" instead of redirection on it.

I'm not joking either, it wasn't fiddled with by kids. It was one of those popup signs for temporary use but someone had muddled the words up.

We bought this from Argos recently, spot the mistake.

If it was Ikea furniture they could just say it's Swedish. ;)

When people ask what 'American Pie' is about, they're missing the point. The song isn't about the lines themselves - it's about what is between the lines. The song is about what isn't there.
