Why I don’t go in the kop

I’ve read @Chris‘s article about the match yesterday and he hints at a bad atmosphere in the kop, I’ve also heard other fans mention the vitriol and nastiness expressed by some fans mainly in the kop.

This is one reason why I stopped going in the kop especially when things are going wrong for Notts, the atmosphere is great when we are winning but the knives come out if we are playing badly and losing.

Ok the Pavis is full of shall we say more mature (age wise) people and I feel that the older fan like myself have gone through lots of bad seasons and still supported through the lean years as well as the glory years.

In the Pavis last year I saw more encouragement at the end of the match not a lot of booing just disappointment more than anything else, the fans there seem to be more forgiving.

The above is just my opinion I know not all kop fans are the same and I have no wish to upset any of them.

Proud to be a Notts County Supporter for over 60 years.

It was ugly at times in the KOP, especially after the third goal went in.

Tensions are just running high, this doesn't make it acceptable but the KOP is no different from the Pavis or Family Stand. Jake was once threatened for singing when we sat in the Pavis by an elderly fan, we moved into the KOP to get a way from him because the stewards then wouldn't do anything. It was horrible and I could have been banned if he pushed me, Jake was only very little at the time maybe 3 or 4-years-old.

Likewise I have experienced issues in the Family Stand.

A field where dreams become reality.

I've never had any issues in the KOP.

There are idiots around but I bet there is in the Pavis, I do think the KOP tends to have everyone on top of each other when its busy whereas there seems to be more space in the Pavis stand.

Oh oh oh ohhhhh, everywhere where we go, watching super County putting on a show!

I used to enjoy sitting in the Jimmy Sirrel stand, it's a shame the family stand can't be given to the smaller away clubs,

When people ask what 'American Pie' is about, they're missing the point. The song isn't about the lines themselves - it's about what is between the lines. The song is about what isn't there.

Not a viable option, and would cause all sorts of problems, and costly as well, so let's leave it as it is.

When I first started going down with my grandad, we'd sit in the Pavis stand which was good. But it wasn't till I got to know more fans that I decided to sit in the kop. Haven't experienced much bad atmosphere there myself.
