Bird loaned to Boston

I wonder when Ross will be heading out? I would have kept Pierce Bird around, he deserves some game time and with our lack of pace within the defence. It's a bit disappointing to see him go out on load, despite him not playing - I hope Alex Lacey doesn't end up being in the same scenario as Bird.

A field where dreams become reality.

the awkward thing about this decision i think is the fact the club does need cbs who are natural in this role. i cant help but feel annoyed, as bird never seems to get the chance to start. he reminds me of kristian pearce when he first arrived, im not saying they are at the same level but it took pearce some time to establish himself. then after that he ended up being pushed out of the door.

I am less bothered, mostly because Pierce Bird never looked bothered during his time here.

He did well on the pitch when he played I feel, but there was little to no signs that he wanted to keep pushing to start. At times it almost seemed like he was happy to waste the early stages of his career, where most would be leaping at getting game time and trying to do well in training.

It's the right move if Neal Ardley won't work with him, it makes sense for that reason to let him go so he might be able to bring someone else in who he would play.

I don't recall seeing Alex Lacey start yet, I might be mistaken.

Oh oh oh ohhhhh, everywhere where we go, watching super County putting on a show!

I don't get why anyone expects Pierce Bird to be playing, he has been very substandard when he's played. Yes, he looks like someone who could become useful but until now this hasn't been the case. People just bang on about him being good because Northern Ireland are desperate enough to call him up.

It's better Bird moves on if he wants to kick his career in the right direction. It says a lot when you can't make the most of having an international player in your ranks, I don't think it signs badly on the player but us.

I can't really comment, yet the club needs to ensure the risk with players like this are limited as it is a waste of money.

When people ask what 'American Pie' is about, they're missing the point. The song isn't about the lines themselves - it's about what is between the lines. The song is about what isn't there.

I think Bird will do well with Boston, I do feel he could be doing a job here but Neal Ardley does now need to find another defender to fill in. I know we have Alex Lacey but what if he gets injured?
