Nottingham city council dont control many schools now though, most have been forced and chosen to change to academy so its upto the academy not the council. To me it is a good decision to keep it to keyworkers children only at the moment though.

Which is exactly why academies need to be put into reverse and scrapped entirely. Primary schools paying heads 100k+ because it’s an academy rather than an lea school is totally wrong. That money needs to be spent on the children.

Academies are the blight of the education system.

Personally, I would hope schools re-open once we know work places can return properly without safety measures.

Young children won't want to wear a mask all day long.

They won't understand that they can't go near their friends, however, it does seem like we are slowly heading in the right direction. Once crowds can return to things like football matches and, other supporting events. Work places are normal, buses are without a lot of the safety measures - I would deem school a no go until it improves to this standard.

Personally i don't like schools being academies either but my daughters got forced into it and my sons head teacher changed it to an acedemy then left saying she'd acheived her goals(it was the last secondary school that was run by the council until then). They should all get the same wages as they are doing the same job.

With some major cities already having headed back into lockdown measures, it shows how serious this pandemic is because it won't be beaten unless everyone plays their parts. I think re-opening pubs is a massive mistake, people from Leicester are already finding their way into Nottingham pubs, I can't help but feel it's incredibly selfish.

Head, nail, hit.

it is incredibly selfish. The scenes on Saturday make a total mockery of all the weeks we’ve spent in isolation. Totally inept handling of the whole thing. Then to turn in the news to hear Johnson blaming care homes for not following the rules and it’s their fault for all the deaths. Disgusting.

I believe it would be expected of care homes to be hit hard, they're a very vulnerable place in our society.

They're an area where the most support is needed, yet during this pandemic I would've imagined that outside help from doctors was few and far between. I'm also not sure care homes wouldn't follow the guidelines, as I have mentioned they're much stricter and generally prepared for outbreaks of viruses (such as sick bugs).

I just want to throw this out there.

Why are people suddenly complaining about people not wearing masks, nearly everyone from the start of the pandemic didn't. At the last two Notts games, I only recall one fan wearing one and I think he did it as a joke (or at least he joked to me about it).

To stop it spreading further? I would be curious to know, what if most of the UK have had it and our bodies have become immune to it?

I wasn't well back in December, I missed Notts games due to the illness and the symptoms match up. I didn't go out, just stayed at home and slept most of the time because it was all I could do pretty much.

Suddenly declaring everyone needs to wear a mask when going shopping, it seems like something that should've been done from the beginning.

I'm not against wearing masks, I just find it to be daft that it's suddenly now when it's needed.

I actually hadn't realised that the UK weren't wearing masks, until it appeared on the news recently.

Been wearing them since April here. It really isn't a massive deal, when you shop you have to wear them. Can get a bit hot, which makes the wife spend less time shopping, so there's one big positive.
