Worth a look!!!!!!....o

I think it'll be very hard to go down this season, in fact I'm not sure anyone will. But they're certainly following our recipe for success ;)

I would normally laugh, but I do feel sorry for them. They've got a good squad but they've done the same as us when we tried to force promotion.

imagine if they tried to tempt neal ardley away to manage them, would those calling for ardleys head be happy or angry?

Perhaps a new challenge would do him good!!!!!!!

He'd be pretty daft to do that.

Their owners are making all the mistakes that were made by Trew and Hardy.

- Seek short term success and sack managers endlessly - tick
- Pomotion push every season by injecting a lot of money, ultimately ending in failure - tick
- Puts wife in charge of club when he loses interest - tick
- Chopping established managers in favour of rookies and vice versa - tick
- No evidence of any kind of strategy or plan  - tick
- Use social media unprofessionally - tick

All that is left now is for their male owner (forgot his name) to post his mini-me on twitter and they've got the full set.

I'd take the Danish brothers and being in this shite league than being in their situation right now. Besides, I'm not fussed about Mansfield. It was mildly entertaining when we were in the same league.

Perhaps we could help them out and send them Knowles back. Then we can get a proper backup to Wootton/Thomas in.

I don't feel anything for Mansfield, they're not a league club in my eyes. They have done well to establish themselves above their natural place, but there's a reason why the always flirt with life in the Non League.

It's ironic to say the least, but I do feel for genuine fans like @Dan.

I honestly believe Mansfield's issue is the fact they'll sign any known name going, which isn't always the best policy. A few years ago, I think when Mansfield re-gained promotion, they had some good youngsters who just needed experience. Much like Hartlepool, but unlike them Mansfield just wasted the opportunity. Whereas the signing of Krystian Pearce seems a smart piece of business.

He's been a reliable signing but they'll tend to go for players who have a reputation over someone who just needs to settle/play.

They haven't hired anyone yet? I can't find any news about the managerial position being taken.

I did read Stag fans believe they could tempted Keith Curle to the role. 🤣

I've seen mentioned on social media some really high-flying names that would A: Never drop to L2 and B: Never go to a club with 3 stands.

BBC Nottingham have said Nigel Clough is expected to be named the new manager in the coming days. They might finally get to league 1 with him there... 😬  Unlikely that they'll do it this season though. 🤓

😮 i am shocked that they have managed to get nigel clough in, hes a very good manager imo. did well with burton and derby, he should do well for mansfield if they allow him time to make the changes needed to move forward.

Very good appointment, those suggesting on social media that "the mighty" has fallen even as a joke - probably don't realise how Nigel likes to work with teams that might not have the biggest budget but has the bases to be a very good team within their league.

At Derby it was his chance to go a stage higher, I feel his time at Derby was a good reign and, probably should've stayed on longer.

With a limited budget after Derby had HUGE wages from their short Premier League spell, it was Clough who formed their best side for some time. He gave younger players a chance, he signed players from lower leagues able to do the job in the Championship.

I see his time at Mansfield as firstly getting to grips with a squad massively underperforming , I can't see him changing much off the bat because he will understand that you can't bring success by chopping squads in half or punishing players who are in poor form. What I can see him doing is working with the squad, focusing on lifting them and bring in tactics which suite everyone rather than the strikers. There's too much focus previously on attacking IMO, which left their defence vulnerable and appearing clueless.
