Notts County prepare for key signing, could it be a striker?

Ian Burchnall has strengthened every area of the pitch, except up front and in goal.

I know he's said that Tiernan Brooks will be the 2nd choice goalkeeper during this campaign, fans have speculated on Twitter how the number 7 shirt hasn't been assigned and the Post has claimed that Notts are preparing for a key signing.

Notts on paper looks strong in every department, but up top could be improved with the right investment.

Could this be a striker that we all want?

its got to be, surely?

other managers like kevin nolan would sign players in areas we already had a lot of depth, even neal ardley had a thing for full backs. ian burchnall seems to be more realistic with covering every base needed.

A striker is pretty much all that's left on the wish list, fingers crossed its a striker worthy of wearing our famous shirt!

IB has said he is looking for a striker but they are not rushing things. It will be a backup to Wootton, so certainly not expecting any 'marquee' signing (a la Wrexham).

We're saving it for Christiano 😉

I can see it being a player who can play as a striker, much like Nemane can - yet I think it will be an attacking midfielder.

Perhaps an inverted attacking midfielder.

My guess would be either a loan striker coming in, but maybe instead of an 18 y/o like Knowles we’ll be looking at someone a touch older, someone from an U23/Reserve squad.

Or we’re waiting for teams in League 1 & 2 to finish their transfer business so more players become available again.

It’s right not to rush, no point signing a player for the sake of it, the season’s still weeks away. Much better to wait and actually sign someone who can compete with Woots.

Andre Wright isn't up to it
