I thought it would be interesting to see the answers to the following questions, but also to encourage opening up a way for the community to get to know each other a bit better with some personal questions in the second part. Before replying and disappearing, I would like to encourage you to come back and make conversations about what members have shared to further the discussion. Favourite Player Right Now: Most Consistent Performer So Far: Rising Star in the Squad [Not Including Loanees]: Most Improved Player Recently: Best Player in Each Position: Who is your all-time favourite Notts County player and why? If you could have dinner with any current Notts County player, who would it be and why? What's your favourite Notts County chant or song? If you could relive any moment in Notts County history, what would it be and why? What's the furthest you've travelled to watch a Notts County game? Let's get to know each other a little better, it might help with the quietness the site is currently experiencing [not a complaint].

  8. There's a lot of land which could be repurposed, which isn't being used, but we seem to find an area and knock down what could be used in spite of what isn't. I am not sure I really see the point of it. Surely, it would make more sense to redevelop areas where there is already a shortage of houses and plenty of derelict land.

  9. It would be disappointing not to pick up our form, but AFC Wimbledon would be a difficult challenge, and even more so away from home. We need to ensure that the squad has sufficient resources to respond to the recent results. Lately, it seems we don't manage games to the best of our ability, and I always feel that if we can take the lead, we should be good enough to maintain it. I do feel we are massively missing the experience and qualities that David McGoldrick brings; he seems to help maintain the management of games that we might otherwise let slip. It's crucial, with Wimbledon being on the verge of overtaking us in the league table, that we show our early start to the season was earned through hard work. If it's pressure, missing key players, or a mix of things combining, I don't think we can afford not to go for the win. Mai Traore might be struggling somewhat to settle in, but it would be a good sign to see him help to make things happen. It might be a blessing if Jodi Jones is available for the game, though it might be worth not starting him.

  17. Morning all we had a lovely long walk yesterday sorting out geocaches we started in the woods which were a bit muddy then came out into some lovely open countryside, we sat on a bench and had our sandwiches in the sunshine and thought how lucky we were to have beautiful countryside within walking distance of home. Today we are going clothes shopping for a few bits and bobs ready for our cruise. Curry night tonight, I’ll have a small portion as I want to carry on the weight loss I’m now lighter than I’ve been since August 2023. Have a great day everyone.

  19. It's a real shame that the airport is closing. I used to go to a school in Tollerton from the early 60s, & the Head Mistress would tell us stories of Americans who were stationed at the RAF base there, who would stop & give sweets to the kids in the school playground if the teachers weren't around when they were passing the school.

  20. I think that Stuart Maynard has generally got the balance right here. Last season we were leaking goals like a sieve & it just wasn't sustainable. I think that some of the fans get frustrated because Notts had to cut out some of their attacking flair for the sake of improving in defence. But it was the right thing to do & Stuart has to take great credit for being able to manage that balance successfully.

  21. Favourite Player Right Now? Alassana Jatta. He can score goals in different ways either with his head, or as a poacher, or by splitting defences. He's been a great replacement for Macca Most Consistent Performer So Far? Matty Platt. He has been an absolute rock at the back for Notts. Rising Star in the Squad [Not Including Loanees]? Charlie Whittaker. I think he could become a very good player for Notts. Most Improved Player Recently? Jack Hinchy. I think he's been unfortunate not to have a regular place in the side. Best Player in Each Position? Bass, Macari, Platt Bedeau, Austin, Palmer, Abbott, Tsaroulla, Whitaker, McGoldrick, Jatta. I would have included Jones for Tsaroulla but he's been injured quite a lot. Who is your all-time favourite Notts County player & why? Don Masson. He was an artist in the middle of the field. Played in all four divisions for Notts. If you could have dinner with any current Notts County player, who would it be and why? David McGoldrick. He would sure have an interesting tale to tell about his career in football. What's your favourite Notts County chant or song? The chant after every Notts goal has been scored. If you could relive any moment in Notts County history, what would it be and why? Charlie Palmer's winning goal for Notts v Forest. The timing of his late goal, the total joy on his face & the Notts crowd going bonkers, plus myself. What's the furthest you've travelled to watch a Notts County game? Wembley to see Notts in two play off finals & two Anglo Italian Cup finals

  24. Favourite Player Right Now: George, run the show, Abbott. Most Consistent Performer So Far: Bedeau, he’s had a few stand-out games but usually he’s just very solid. Rising Star in the Squad [Not Including Loanees]: I’ll go for Macari, I think we underappreciated him at the start of the season because we were all so impressed with our new defensive recruits. Most Improved Player Recently: Hinchy maybe, not seen a lot of him but when he stepped in for Palmer after his facial fracture he was pretty good. Best Player in Each Position: Bass, Platt, Jones, Abbott, McGoldrick (as a 10), Jatta. Who is your all-time favourite Notts County player and why? Mike Edwards cos he’s the player I remember most fondly as a kid. I am a bit gutted I didn’t get to experience many exciting, get you off you seat type players when I was young and first started following Notts. If you could have dinner with any current Notts County player, who would it be and why? David McGoldrick he’s had a very successful career and I’d enjoy hearing about it (and he’s got a bit of money so we’d go somewhere fancy). What's your favourite Notts County chant or song? The Referee’s a… Oh favourite Notts song, don't really have one but I like is the Jodi Jones chant! If you could relive any moment in Notts County history, what would it be and why? The penalty shoot-out at Wembley v Chesterfield, it would be a lot less stressful knowing we won it! What's the furthest you've travelled to watch a Notts County game? Yeovil and I’ve not been back!

  25. I was chatting about this the other day, and it was highlighted how Palmer as good as he is, never scores and as good as his passing is he doesn't get that many assists either. But like you say that never made him a bad player, because his role has always been about helping us play out from the back and I don't think there's anyone better than him at this level. I think now because of the loss of Crowley (and with Didzy injured) the No.10 roles have suddenly become an issue. Whitaker as good as he is technically is still learning and makes mistakes. Grant struggles to get involved at times and Edwards has struggled after returning from a long lay-off. So now we are having to rely on those further back and right now it's only really Abbott breaking forward from midfield to create something and I wonder if we could see more of this from Palmer too at times. When he has space in front of him can drive the play forward, dribble with the ball and drag an opposition player out of position, or can he play a riskier ball in behind earlier... He's definitely capable of doing it.

  26. I have just listened to Stuart's pre Wimbledon presser & non of the injured players that are currently out of the Notts side will be available for selection for the match on Saturday. So it appears that it will be a similar side that lost to Barrow on Tuesday. I would like to see Tsaroulla & Grant start this match because they did make a difference when they came in against Barrow. I'm hopeful about Notts's chances as they seem to play better away where they get more room to attack than at Meadow Lane, where the opposition just sit back. There certainly needs to be an improvement in performance & Notts need to show that they want it, because they didn't for long periods against Barrow. At this stage Notts need to just avoid defeat & prevent Wimbledon from winning at all costs.

  27. It's awful, Robbie. I don't wish to sound like someone just complaining. But, people shouting due to being on their phones or even broadcasting the whole two-way conversation. Just stop it! There's no need for loud music, people using social media where the audio is loud. Put a pair of headphones on, and it becomes a lot more manageable. The worst thing is how much bad smell there is; if I smell weed, for example, it makes me annoyed. If I owned a bus company, I think it wouldn't last long, but those who did use it would love how much better their journeys were. Issue would be, many wanting to use the service would be refused.

  32. I can accept that Notts might not be ready quite yet for promotion. The inconsistencies and reliance on influential players might help Stuart Maynard in time, and I hope the club continues to back him. Whilst he's not perfect, I believe he's good enough and just needs to be braver at times. His game management when things aren't working could be better, but these are all reasons why he should be given longer. If the signs show improvement, we would be going the right way, and I think this is the case so far under Maynard.

  33. Favourite Player Right Now: Jatta for me, he has a knack of getting on the end of a ball in the box and putting it away. Most Consistent Performer So Far: Matt Palmer first on the team sheet every match. Rising Star in the Squad [Not Including Loanees]:Charlie Whittaker Most Improved Player Recently: Charlie Whittaker Best Player in Each Position: Who is your all-time favourite Notts County player and why? Tony Hateley of course. If you could have dinner with any current Notts County player, who would it be and why? Matt Palmer, he’s been called an old fart by his team mates after reaching 30, I’d like him to meet a real old fart. What's your favourite Notts County chant or song? Wheelbarrow song, it’s so quirky. If you could relive any moment in Notts County history, what would it be and why? Tony Hateley’s return to Meadow Lane against Northampton the atmosphere was electric. What's the furthest you've travelled to watch a Notts County game? Well it’s a long time since I used to travel to Notts matches but I remember going to Exeter on the train in the early 70s probably.

What's your favourite Notts County chant or song? i had a wheelbarrow If you could relive any moment in Notts County history, what would it be and why? the chesterfield playoff final, it was a great experience and even though we were lucky to have won on penalties the game had everything a big match like a promotion game needed. very exciting and special. 35. I agree with @liampie in that I think Scott Lindsey is a decent coach for a League 2 team and that’s about it. I think MK got a bit blinded by how well Crawley played against them against in the play-offs. When you look at the big picture under Lindsey, they did well but they weren’t amazing, they lost 18 matches that season and only made it into the play-offs by a point. Again I’m amazed at how many League 2 clubs are so badly run, like devoid of basic thought and zero foresight. Why do you spend the whole window signing a load of his ex-Crawley players specifically for him and his way of playing only to then dump him? They aren’t short of money at MK now but the words chucking and drain come to mind.
