  1. Hello, welcome to the Pride of Nottingham @Corinthian88. I hope you continue to enjoy being a part of our Notts County community. This is very interesting, when I published an article about the players Tiernan Brooks would be featuring alongside. I didn't take much notice of the Spurs keeper with the same name as Conor Keeley. It's fascinating to know that sibling connection. With him being at Spurs, I tended to wonder why Brooks tended to start/play more. Still plenty of time for both keepers to refine their ability, but I do watch out for Brooks.
  2. I went with @super_pie, it's the only Premier League ground at the time the club were in the Premiership that he's been too. Very early on, the crowd was groaning and getting down spirited, myself and a few others nearby started chanting. I actually posted on social media via the PON pages that we needed to lift the boys, more fans started singing even though we were losing. Then it was as if, the 12th man effect was true, and we came into the game. Mark Fotheringham showed more grit, Callum McGregor just became magic and the game was back on before we knew it. The Liverpool supporters were absolutely amazing! One gave Jake a Liverpool scarf and others would make a fuss of him. At the time, Jake lived and died in a Spider-Man hat, which some of their fans took to singing the theme song. Jake instantly became very nervous but it was awesome. Anfield is one of the best grounds I have been in for the atmosphere; there's very few like it that I have been too. When Liverpool fans took to chanting "You'll never walk alone". I got goosebumps, it was electric. I miss those days, because it was something that felt special. @KB1862 You should've been there mate, it was surreal.
  3. I miss hearing the chant. Yet Meadow Lane is heaven on earth. I propose this, so if you hear it chanted. I revised it! "Luke William’s Notts, we know their worth, Crowley and McGoldrick, best on Earth, Super Baldwin and Rawlo at the back, Thankful to be in the Football League, that’s a fact."

  6. Thank you everyone, it's really appreciated. I am close to being able to sell this season's prints, which should help to reduce the need to rely on donations. I will accurately report the requested amount of sales generated through donations. Keeping in mind that the following month might be different of course, but I will be reducing the amount asked of when I can. Or, I may just add the sales to the achieved donation amount; I haven't really decided which is the best way. Just keep in mind if one month, you see £40 being the month's target - that will be due to sales of merch helping. Yet, I might just add the sales to the target, so it stays the same amount. I haven't decided which is best, but this is something that I am extremely thankful for. Knowing that their support means a great deal. I have mentioned this in the past, but I am also looking into membership schemes which I need to sort out, but it will be similar to Patreon. Having this sorted, would allow me to do so much more, without the need for me to focus so much on other means. Yes, I can take donations in person, but I will make sure that any reflect on the amount required. I don't feel comfortable just taking donations, because there are some very vindictive people out there who enjoy harassing people and causing drama when there is no need. Yet to clarify, the amount I have set the target to be isn't me expecting fans to pay for the site's upkeep in full. It's a portion of the overall amount, the rest I still have to pay myself and I always will. PS. I also plan to gift prints in the name of donators to worthy young fans that have been nominated by others.
  7. He once bragged whilst doing a Sky interview that he believes he had sent off over 100 players, when he asked if he felt they were all the correct decision - his response was "It was my decision". It came across as pretty arrogant. I used to watch Match of the Day all the time; it was something everyone in my family would watch, so I recall Mike Dean well. He always came across as someone who liked to have the control of games, not to officiate well but because he enjoyed the power. I still have memories of him jogging backwards, blowing his whistle and pointing for the player to leave the field. I think it was Nicky Butt when he was at Newcastle. @CliftonMagpie
  8. I've been thinking about this all afternoon and evening, the only player I can add to this is Ben Barclay.
  9. I would say very near the logo in the corner @Fan of Big Tone. 5 or so rows up.
  10. They're a good team; they have a decent midfield with two very good creative outlets that work well for them in Shaun Whalley and Sean McConville. Whilst they might not have the true quality that others may process (like us), they have a real grit and strong understanding of what makes them work. I would highly recommend fans give this a read, at least the bottom part mentioning who we have next - @TheSkipper has written about them superbly. I think it's all about how the game starts, if we are confident and play as we did against Tranmere Rovers, I think Accrington Stanley will struggle. Yet either way the game may go, I believe they'll be the best opposition that we have faced at Meadow Lane. Defensively, we need to be calm and composed, with the players thinking about how each ball they play needs to be the perfect decision. Accington are a team that could pounce on our mistakes. Whilst some would say they are an underdog of this league, with the team spirit of fighters. Notts will know exactly what is needed, we need to match them with our intensity and control the game just by making neat passes. We'll get space, as will they. Notts just needs to make sure Aidan Stone is well protected and that we take any chances which fall our way. It should be a very entertaining game.
  11. If his contract is up at the end of the season, it gives Notts a good hand to negotiate with. Walsall aren't exactly a team on the up or as forward-thinking as they were when Notts last played in League Two. Their time in League One has seemed to see them go rapidly backwards, to a point where they are just very poor and average. They can be a good team on their day, yet typically mediocre. I see no improvements with signing Conor Keeley for Walsall, nor do I think it would be a wise move for his career. Right now, Notts has this ora. That appeals to players because they can see how well things are. Not just on the pitch, but behind the scenes. If he doesn't agree to new terms, I can see him joining us or another club higher up. He seems a very good potential signing, so I hope Notts keeps trying. Persistence is the key, provided room is being made.
  12. I believe he's taking time away from football right now, so I don't really see Neal Ardley coming back to management any time soon. I think he would do a better job with a Eastleigh than a York City though.
  13. It's honestly no concern. If any fan genuinely feels concerned that Charlton Athletic will come in for Luke Williams, just remember that the Reedtz have shown a great understanding with the way they recruit, not just manager wise but staff in general. I personally wouldn't worry, any Championship or League One team's job could become vacant and the last thought I have is that our manager will leave having gained promotion last season and seeing his team on the verge of doing well in League Two. There's very little risk of us losing him this seasons, so good luck to Charlton in finding their next manager.

  15. It's great news for Jodi Jones and I agree, he always comes back from the internationals with a buzz. It would be great if he could score, that would be a moment all Notts and Coventry fans would love to see! It's impressive how many Coventry fans ask me about how Jodi is getting on. Go on Jodi!
  16. Hello, @Andrew Edwards. Welcome to the Pride of Nottingham, I hope you enjoy being a part of our Notts County community.
  17. Hello, @Gary Adamson. Welcome to the Pride of Nottingham, I hope you enjoy being a part of our Notts County community.
  18. I did go over to see @super_ram for a few hours, we discussed Notts and Derby, along with our upcoming family break. We're granddad napping Super to give him a well-deserved break from Nottingham.
  19. There's not much difference in truth between the National League and League Two. It's mostly the setup in terms of how teams prepare, train and the standard of players being a bit higher in quality. I always felt that Notts would be able to keep their style of play. Some people have expressed that we have changed it completely, but I think some of the changes are minimal at least. It's the same approach to breaking teams down; the difference from the start of the campaign is the urgency and focus on keeping the ball moving into attacking spaces. Although, we did this very similarly against many of the National League teams. We have played a couple of good teams, but sides which haven't quite found the same form we have. Grimsby, Tranmere and Doncaster I feel will be much stronger when we next play them and this will show how different the league can be.
  20. It's incredible, vibrant colour and an excellent style. I always wonder why some art ends up distorted, as if the artist has got a fish eye effect with his vision. It could just be a style, yet I think the portions of the stands and curve of the front part of the pitch would look a lot better without this approach. It doesn't take anything away from it, it's just my personal thought. The painting is a masterpiece regardless.
  21. Being right close to the action, I was listening to the radio via my phone as I watched the incident unfold. There was contact, but I think Matt Palmer made the most of it. The Tranmere Rovers player certainly did touch him, I am not sure the cameras would have got the angle, but a slight touch was made to the ball (Palmer was caught first). He did go down like a sack of spuds (@GrannyPie and @super_ram saying), either way he made a meal of it. Yet there was a clear penalty, which were when Tom Davies smuggly handled the ball. It's hard not to give 7's acorss the board, I though Matt Palmer and John Bostock bossed the midfield.
  22. I am going to make an educated guess and say, I reckon he jolted his knee and it caused a sublux dislocation. By the way, he held his knee before he went down. Then suddenly seemed to be in a lot of pain but was able to eventually get back up. He never really held onto the back of his leg, or the front. It's possible that he got a stud caught in the grass and that caused the injury, as when he walked he did seem very hesitant to put his foot fully down. He also arched forward at times, where it seemed he cupped his knee. It could very well be a muscle tear. too, but usually these don't just happen out of the blue. With him having just come on, I think the sublux theory might be the case as I have been in the same situation many times when I've played football.
  23. Eastleigh is a playoff-capable side, who are at the minimum upper half mid-table. I can see why they have sacked their manager, their start of the season has been quite dire. Their performances don't look anything like the Eastleigh that made it hard for Notts to play against them, whilst I get this. I do think it's a harsh decision. Personally, I would have given him at least a dozen more games to see if it could be turned around. If they suddenly start doing well, it would suggest the call were warranted after all. Football is an incredibly harsh sport for managers, coaches, staff and players.
  24. It really is a similar comparison to not choosing a backup keeper on your bench, it's one of those things which you can't predict. The moment Cedwyn Scott went down, I knew he wasn't going to be able to play. I think it was @menzinho who compared Scott's to Baj's, Scott hobbled but managed to walk, so hopefully it's not as serious. He will be back stronger, as that's his attitude and I wish him a speedy recovery. I do wonder what caused the injury.
  25. I can't put my finger on who Mark Grew reminds me off, but he's a name that I don't recall ever hearing. I bet he doesn't remember (or want to) much about this game, if I had made my debut and saw four goals smashed against me. I am not sure how I could handle that.
